Very nice work, love this Kraftwerk tune and you did a great job. I have the MS1 and I think it's great, had an SH101 years back and to be fair unless you are really particular about the two being identical then I think the Behringer is great. It's what you do with it aint it 👌😃
Excellent cover. I'm in hospital at the moment and have been trying to work on a cover of this brilliant track, my nurse said he's a mate of yours and and to check out your channel and I'm not disappointed!! What exactly are you using for choir pads in the background?
Fantastic job man, this is just brilliant and you have really highlighted the versatility of this synth. Any chance of a walkthrough showing how the track was made i.e slider parameters on the MS1as a follow up video. Either way this video is outstanding, thank you for sharing it to the world.
Thanks BinaryFunction. Yeah, I was considering whether to do a part on how I made the track / sounds, etc. as part of the original video. The for lead for example, I couldn’t get the right tone/“brightness” to the sound until I used the new FM function on the filter... I’ll make a follow up video for anyone interested. Watch this space!
I agree about learning from recreating.... I wanna just jump in and write, but I need an idea of how to use the gear first lol... Good way to get experience FAST
Yeah - recreating tracks is a great way to learn - keeps it focused (it's so easy to get lost in sound-making). Depends on how much you want to master the art & craft, and I might be stating the obvious here, but the more time you dedicate to it, the better you'll get. And you never stop learning (I've been doing this for 25 years) - the journey is the destination in a sense... so don't be in too much of a rush, enjoy the view!
Awesome cover but the morse code "bleep" is not tuned in the same way as the original, as you pointed out, and there's a mistake in the notes around 1'35". Nice use of Emvoice Jay
Check it again - the Morse in the original is definitely an ‘A’ note. Although the tone may differ - the bleep sounds are different. Thanks for the compliment :-)
Re 01:35 Yeah, in the original the last bar of the chorus is transposed differently to how i transposed it. Well spotted. It’s not a mistake though - the change / transpose was intentional and is in the original (although I didn’t realise I’d transposed it differently to how it was in the original. So in that way it was a mistake!). The transpose of the final bar is meant as a kind of bridge into the verse section.
Hi, if I remember correctly I used the noise (obviously) and either the square wave or triangle for the mid/bass ‘body’ of the snare, and since the MS-1 doesn’t allow envelope control over the pitch I believe I utilised the glide function from a high note to a low note at a quick setting for a bongo type pitch effect. Messed around with the envelope to get the right setting for snappy hit with a decaying tail. Then sampled a few “hits” and picked the best of the batch to use in the song
Just rediscovered this. It's still excellent
Very impressed. You've done a wonderful analysis of the song. It's a great cover
Thank you!

Hi Ullish, Thanks! I’m using a VST for the choirs - I believe I used the Omnisphere soft synth
Say Hi to Adam for me! 😜
that's impressive!🙌🙌 it is indeed the way to learn your gear 👍
I think I am going to buy this synth
Thank you

Never ceases to amaze me!
You did a great job
@@jimmywheelo Thanks Jim, much appreciated.
Hail the MS-1. Apart from the name is there any difference of the MS-101?
No - just the name (Roland wouldn’t let them use their trademarked “101” name
What did you do to make the noise snare?

les notes sont fausses à 1:34, mais pas mal comme boulot
Je sais. Merci quand même
Cant beat Morse
Do you know how to pronounce Activity? There's no D in it bro
It ain’t me singing in it bro - it’s a VST program. Tell it to the programmers
Awesome job!
