I tried so hard to cover my dark circles but in my mid-30s I’ve learned to embrace them!! Omg I look like me now. I still wear concealer but I’m not using correctors and brighteners to fix a problem that’s not really there. My dark circles are beautiful and distinguish me as a weary and wise person who has experienced some sh*t and I love that.
I don't think I've ever loved a palette as much as the Rose Metals. The color story is just the most perfect mix of grungy colors. Can't stop using it.
I fel the exact same way, and I am a makeup artist, with a collection so large it has its own insurance policy. It is stunning. It's my perfect palette.
Okay, conceptually breaking the big palette into quads was mind-blowing! I never know how to put looks together with the the big palettes so visually splitting up the smaller color stories was such a helpful idea. Thank you!
Oh noooooo. The way the palette is organised made it and instinctive pass for me - but the way you swatched it into quads? Stunning. Breathtaking. Right up my alley.

Just a thought as you’re putting your new foundation stick directly on the area that needs antibiotics - do you need to be careful with that? Could it spread to your makeup and then spread to other parts of your face via the foundation stick? Health issues suck would hate for you to have to deal with your skin issues spreading.

The Rose Metals palette has really been tempting me, especially after swatching in store. I can dupe some of the colors, but not so much the textures/finishes. This is really helpful in my decision-making. Although with the upcoming Lisa Eldridge eye palette , I am holding for now!
Ah. I agree the ABH eyeshadow is soft and crumbly but color is so strong. I love that palette. I had been eyeballing Nouveau but now I think I’m shifting. Also, I love that Kaja lip!
I love the ABH palette too; mine also came with the same two colors having fallen apart in transit. I just used my finger to "mash" them back down, but they are definitely fragile. I swoon over those colors myself. I just a purchased a second Modern Renaissance palette because I panned all but 2 of the shades. Different formula, but also a favorite. Clionadh eyeshadows CAN BE $25 (canadian) but some are like as low as $6. So you know you're paying for the quality of whatever shadow it is. Most I find to be about $10-15 and I use them everyday so it's worth it for me.
Hi! I am a new subscriber. I was watching one of your videos where you recommended a kaja bento eyeshadow for olive skin-yes, my skin looks green against other skin tones. I struggle a lot with choosing colors that harmonize with my skin tone. I would love to get your recommendation, or if you can make a video about it, it would be fantastic. Thanks.
Just coming down here to throw a comment in re: traditionally negative connotations sometimes being aesthetic. In my world, on my head/face, I live this often. I wear a Mullet. Like my hair is a true mullet. And I get soo many compliments on my hair.. similarly the face structure is very- skeletal. And honestly I feel prettiest when I lean into that and really hollow out the places that make me more skeletal. I know that sounds crazy. But I really like it.
Kackie! Can you do a big round up style video revisiting all of the major launches this year in each category? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on whether you still like/dislike certain foundations etc.
@@kackie i love those! i was thinking like "here are the top 10 foundations releases of 2022 do i still love/hate them?" unless you already go over that in best of the best :)
I apply minimalist with my fingers, and have bone. I'd love to sample Silk, just to compare the undertone and lightness to Bone. WA stick looks chalky under eyes, and I find it more difficult to blend than minimalist. Ya, from how you describe it let's me know that this eyeshadow palette is a no-go for me. Can say, however, that I love the first 3 colors you applied to your eye area.
I really want to try purple blush after your last Make Beauty video and I'm wondering whether you like their cheek tint or powder blush better for incorporating purple?
Lol total riot girl vibes, albeit the rg with a Jetta ;). Heroin chic really wasn't about heroin when it was applied by 20 somethings, it was more of a middle finger to beauty standards - models & design houses had all kinds of beauty aesthetics, some hit the mainstream, but many did not - the whole retail cycle was much slower. In Montana, the cowgirl "full coverage natural" look with tons of foundation, blush & mascara was the look. Plus, it wasn't as mainstream as movies depicted, for instance, very few people wore grungy eyeliner to work and the bougie girls didn't embrace it much even on weekends. When we went to shows at the black cat or 930 club in DC, the grunge look was big, but definitely a scene thing. Btw love the art theory, it totally inspired me tonight! I cannot believe I've become someone who will wear a whole range of red or pink eye looks!!! This is not something I see anywhere around here, so I am loving it!
I wonder if you have tried hypochlorous acid (such as Tower 28 SOS or Briotech) or ozonated oils (such as Pur03) for the skin problems. Maybe followed by skincare that includes fermented ingredients. Or even some live yogurt, as a mask.
I was hoping you’d tell me the eyeshadow palette was terrible but now it’s going into my cart for the Sephora sale 😅 thank you for breaking it into the quads tho, that def gave me ideas on how I would use it!

I'm the complete opposite when it comes to singles vs palettes😂 based on your makeup preferences, I agree tho', I don't think singles or BYOP is for you, but I'd still like to see you try creating a palette with something like the Lethal Cosmetics palette builder😂 I think it would be interesting to watch. I disagree that singles are always more expensive premade palettes, tho'. Simply because you can use the same shades over and over again in new color stories. Instead of buying the same shades in palettes over and over again and ending up with hundreds of dollars worth of matte creams and light transition shades, that I personally never use.

Yes the sodium laurel sulfate in most toothpastes gives me per oral dermatitis. Some of the sensodyne toothpastes are SLS free but you have to read the fine print 😂.
