@@haleyw5469 did you watch til the end. He can ask god for forgiveness. They should have followed her out and surrounded her with live and prayer. This is so beyond sick that they envelope HIM in support and forgiveness. This IS NOT GOD. What the actual hell is wrong with people that they think it's ok to put their healing energy into HIM. @codirennke1109 If we don't learn to forgive others, then we must not deserve to be forgiven ourselves. It doesn't mean that they have to be on good terms with each other. One of my abusers was my own damn father. I remember how it felt when members of my family knew the truth, and still chose to stand by him anyway. I forgave him... That forgiveness wasn't for him, it was for me. Forgiveness is all we can do to move forward with our lives, when we have been horribly wronged by the people who are supposed to care for us. Living in anger and bitterness has never done favors for anyone... I should know that. She spoke her truth now that she's older and no longer silenced, just as I have now that I'm older. Believe it or not, it was a day of going to church just a few months ago for me to finally stand up to my father and push him out of my life permanently. The only credit that I'll give this pastor is that he admitted it when he was confronted. My father will never do that for as long as he lives. So, I have the understanding that victims of sexual abuse aren't responsible for what others choose to do with the truth they are given. He has people who are going to stand by him, and I'm sure that she has people to stand by her. They are each on different paths towards healing and doing what they need to do in order to move forward. My hope is that she doesn't allow the people in church to determine how long she holds onto those bad memories. We each find forgiveness when we are ready.

I don't go to church and haven't in years because there are more preditors in churches than people think, and I couldn't trust anyone. That's why people say you have to watch those who go to church more than anyone else.

If a person can be a member of this church, listen to this pastor talk, applaud him afterwards, then stay a member of that church, then the term “brainwashed“ truly is a thing. If you see evil right in front of your face, and you stay, condone it and support it, you are part of the problem. Of course he played it down as "adultery". My goodness, you can see through all of this like an old t-shirt: the false humility, the sense of entitlement. When he was confronted, he should have been smart and shut his mouth. I hope the police were notified.
Jesus was pretty quiet when it came to the woman who was brought to Him accused of adultery. "Go and sin no more". However, when it came to the children, I have always noticed that Jesus said that if anyone were to harm a child, they would be better finding a millstone and drowning themself. It is funny - it is the only - dare I say - threat that He says about sin. Pedophilia was rife in the ancient world - as far as the Greeks and Romans were concerned at least, it was completely acceptable. I wonder whether Jesus is basically saying that if you abuse kids, He's coming for you and He will not hold back... Just my interpretation.
This pastor isn't just trying to pull the wool over his church's eyes, he's trying to do the same to God. What an idiot.

I, however, do appreciate that no matter how forced he chose to step down instead of fighting it. I do believe that parts of his confession were honest. He did rightly point out that this wasn't hid to protect others, but to protect himself. I can't dog anyone for praying over him as a Christian we are to be forgiving and I would like to note that this is a large church and the camera doesn't show whether or not anyone was praying over the victim. Both parties need prayer here. I do hope that the claims about the assistant pastor are investigated as well as whether or not he truly repented(turned from) this behavior.
