- Phesheya Duma is a young, yet seasoned businessman. He is a second generation business titan, and has taken over the family business in logistics. He is also invested in the gambling industry and has other business interests.
I remember him very well during my Wits times. We stayed in the same Res - David Webster. A lot of people misunderstood and mischarged him because of what he had. I had the same thinking but untill I approached him he was totally the opposite of what most people at the time were thinking of him. He is a very nice person, you would not say he was coming from a rich family. He is a very bumble being and intelligent being. Phesheya is a great man. I wish him greatness in life ahead and may God continue keep guiding him in the right paths.
"Give your children enough to be comfortable but don't steal their struggle"... I will remember that
Are You Bonga as in B.O.N.G.A the Devine specimen of a being whose decided embrace us here at Penuel Show regardless of social and domestic circumstances.

Today’s guest was telling my story front the 1st word
Thanks for this, the story of your guest is so so similar to my girlfriend and she's walking away from family to build. The struggle is real for rich kids
@@gordontebogo4013 People don't understand the struggles of rich kids. I'll make a new video about it soon. I've made one before.
@@Penuelism thanks
The content here is genuinely having a positive impact on me, I'd be more than willing to pay. However, I'd like to know where those funds go to.
I acknowledge that once I pay it's your money and you may do with it as you see fit. But I don't want to see myself indirectly funding Afriforum.
Phesheya is a great storyteller aswell, another trait of successful people
"Give your child enough to be comfortable, but don't steal their struggle" biggest takeaway from this ❤
Yeah, it's like helping a butterfly by breaking it's cocoon. You cripple it because breaking the cocoon develops the muscles it needs to fly.
I have so much respect for this Phesheya guy. He did what every privileged 20-something-year-old would do. He made mistakes, learned, and made a 180-degree change. He made boyish mistakes, owned them up, and transformed himself into a man. Respect!!!!
This guy is so genuine. His so intelligent, his very well spoken, great storyteller too.
Being self aware is the most beautiful refreshing thing to see, being able to acknowledge the good and the bad about yourself, many still struggle with this process
This is incredible. I love the complex relationship between being self made and coming from a well established family that can provide for you. The concept of the self made looking down on the privileged yet aspiring to provide the basics for their kids. The conversation around how we manage new found wealth as a black community, how we pass it onto our kids and still allow them the opportunity to work for something. Ive looked at white kids who went to private school who do not suffer the same. Ive heard about how generational challenges faced by our parents, lead to the parenting style of over shielding their kids hence their inability to find themselves. It's a lot.
Real people, real stories, real challenges...this episode makes me appreciate podcasts for their ability to allow guests to tell their stories and for us to extract wisdom from them.
Thanks, Pen for your ability to listen and drive the conversation!!
Beautiful Episode
His level of self awareness is refreshing.
Keen to see Phesheya again unpacking his business life. Please definitely bring him back.

LEGEND. 🙌🏆💯
I enjoyed this conversation very much. I see many folks pointing out that Pen was disruptive, judgmental and biased - I think that's great because this is more of a conversation than an interview.
I don't expect Pen to be completely impartial. His biases allow the guest to unpack their thoughts even deeper and with more clarity. Pen is asking Phesheya questions that I would've wanted to ask him and reacting the way I'd react to what Phesheya is saying.
Phesheya is very intelligent, and eloquent and has impressive business acumen. I envy that. It's really dope that he shared his story.
I think God Pen was just superb in this and he's getting better
I appreciate the wholesomeness of the guest that he stayed calm though some questions came out as abrasive and condescending. I would like to see more of Phesheya interviews by different interviewers.
I'm the same age as Phesheya and I've worked really hard to get to where I am at where I am still going, before this interview, I was one of those people who looks at their struggles and wonder why I did not come from privilege, but after this interview, I realise we all have struggles. Much respect for Phesheya, as a woman who is driven and comes from under privileged backgrounds, I wish I had this kind of people in my corner too, it's mind shifting...
Even I as a broke guy, coming from a broken family without both parents I overstood him and have learnt alot, what a Devine specimen of a being
As a mother, I learned a lot from this young man sharing his journey, helps with how we go about raisingour sons.
Reading some of the comments here and on other episodes... I'm starting to fully appreciate why Nkululeko Nkewu and Joe Rogan don't read comments.
A lot of them are ignorant, ill-informed, ppl with alternative views & most importantly, ppl who - if you take their comments seriously - would find one making the same old dry content one finds on mainstream media... and which would actually kill the flavour of who I am and how I converse with & attract people into my life.
I will try harder to stay away from the comments section & focus on the work than on people's opinions... however, please keep them coming, even if I don't agree with you or like the comments... that's what makes us human... that's what makes life dynamic.
Thank you for supporting the channel... we appreciate each and every one of you. 🙏🏽❤️
I like Phesheya, his appreciation for his family is beautiful. He is very aware of the sacrifices they have made for him. God bless you
I’m about a third through this & I’m in absolute awe of gent’s father. I stopped viewing to say just that. Deliberate, orchestrated, impactful, (sometimes) hard/tough leadership is super important if you have a certain outcome in mind for your kids. When the black nation looks at Muslims/Jews and what they do with their families, we realise that there’s had to be a roadmap and a captain/s (father/parents) to steer the family’s vessels (kids lives) to an imagined promised land. Society can’t raise your kids when you’re a present parent. Be there. They (kids) may not like it (being steered) but they’ll definitely, in hindsight, thank you for it. I actually would like to witness an interview of his father on leadership, manhood, parenting, presence (in your life, kids & spouse’s lives), money, etc. Listen I could go on forever. I’m realising as I type this that parenting is a mentor protégé gig.🤯
Enjoy this platform ket. Bangene. Msibi Boyz Worldwide. One.
I love Loooove this comment ke sana!
Want to second your request for his father to be interviewed bafo 👌👏
Thank u for reminding me that there's nothing wrong with "structures" and that it's for my own good...there is no need to feel bad for being disciplined and having routines. 🤝There's always a tuck of war mentally... Our environments always lure us into submitting into this "magical thinking" n shift us aways from structures
I've watched a few of the episodes on the channel. This one is brilliant. Pen might sound condescending, judgemental and abrasive but he is asking these questions from the viewers perspective. His way of questioning allowed Phesheya to give us proper answers that clearly reveal who he is. And lets be honesy there is a level of judgement towards rich people. Kudos to this guy for being so self aware. I hope he is inviter back to discuss his businesses etc.
Love how this dude is so honest about everything.
Top 2 episodes, first few minutes around manhood, seperation and seeking belonging in women though financial means was soooo relatable. So many gems dropped too and lessons learnt on fatherhood. Thank you Black Pen, thank you Phesheya
This has to be one of the most open conversations.I also like Penuel's style of interview.
Phesheya's Parents are needed on the podcast serious serious
🙌🙌🙌
I learned a lot from this interview... Phesheya is a man with brains 🧠 and the ability interact positively and wisely.
Yet again, great and informative episode. There is a lot to learn from Phesheya and his life story, this episode was able to unpack very important issues that face the youth in our society. And he was just able to unpack it from a more 'privileged' position
Half way through this and I have related to EVERYTHING that he has said. Power to all sensible men.
I recently saw this man on social media and i was wondering who he is. Wow what a smart man nozipho is blessed for sure
sincere and enlightening thank you for inviting this South African gentleman.
I love how involved his parents were
Love these conversations Penuel.
I don’t know the guest but I’m intrigued by his fathers knowledge and discipline. Would love to know more about him, books, websites anything of his would be appreciated.
Thanks
Real conversation here. I can relate so much with this Brother's story. Your Father is a Solid Man. As young men growing up we need that structure and discipline so we are secured in ourselves and can be productive, confident, intelligent Men. What a wholesome conversation. Salute!
This bro is telling my story
This guy is has jams. It’s unfortunate that Penuel is not a good interviewer. Most people who are so opinionated don’t realise that interviewing someone is a whole different ball game.
I agree. I also think he isn't... The expressions and comments he makes would make another person to hold back.
I think Penuel is good friends with the guy hence he makes side comments. He has a good line of questioning in other interviews
Very true!!! His followup questions are already overclouded with a bit of judgement and he is also quite condescending. Tries too hard, guess that’s the downside of being too opinionated - he must improve his interviewing skills 4 sure
I also felt he was a bit too much that I felt Phesheya had really become a better person which is evident in how he managed to maintain his cool throughout . Shoutouts to him 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾
I wish he was interviewed by someone else.
Pen, this needs a part 2 please... I enjoyed the conversation, learnt a lot... thanks brothers!
I THOROUGHLY enjoyed this. Phesheya has a wealth of insight. Great episode, gentlemen.
I like his honesty, most people in his place would sugar coat the experiences
When we face constant challenges in life, we all wish we were born in rich families, but this interview shows ukuthi life challenges are necessary in moulding you to be who you are, to find purpose in life and be responsible.
Siyabonga bo bhuti for sharing your real stories. Very inspiring Indeed.
I feel and understand him very well.. 🙏
Sho Penuel, Social Workers are therapists and they can operate in the counseling space. Brilliant conversation here
Wish I could like this interview 100 times 👌🏽
This is what most of us go through in life listen to this interview there hope some of us will find our way again great interview
Absolutely enjoyed this episode. Has to be in my top 3. Way too muh insight for my liking. I could personally relate to a lot of personality traits Phesheya has/had. It also almost seems like I saw a future version of myself, it's difficult to explain but it is what it is, being the same age as him and all.
“The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.” ― Albert Einstein
Same here😭😭
I WAS ALSO EXTREMELY INVOLVED IN MY TWO SON'S LIVES. WITH THEIR SCHOOLWORK, THEIR FRIENDS, EVEN THEIR RUGBY UNTIL THEY PLAYED CLUB RUGBY. i NEVER MISSED A MATCH. TODAYWE ARE PROUD PARENTS OF WONDERFUL SONS, WHO ARE ALSO NOW FATHERS AND ALSO COMMEND US ON THERI OUTBRINGING. i HAD THE FRIENDS BY ME RATHER THAN MY BOYS GOING TO THEM SO WE COULD SUM THEM UP. TODAY THOSE FRIENDS HUG AND KISS US WHEN THEY SEE US AROUND AND THANK US FOR BEING SUBSTITUTUE PARENTS TO THEM AS MANY WERE FROM SINGLE PARENT HOMES. DISCIPLINE IS VERY IMPORTANT IN ANY CHILD'S UPBRINGING
Great conversation Penuel! This is a gem. Very valuable content!
im so thankful of this channel... school of life.
I really commend Phesheya. To open your life & have it examined, and questioned ...amazing.
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Please get him back Pen!!!! Phesheya you’re a great story teller, I could listen to you for hours.
Yho 😮 eye opening as a mother of a young man.. Pen thank you.. im becoming a fan 🎉
There are so many nuggets of wisdom in all of the conversations hosted thus far. Thank you to the guests for being so candid and vulnerable with their stories. Pen, s/o to you for being a very good listener, I really appreciate your consideration and respect for your guests. It brings such good structure, maturity and a keen interest to wanting to learn more about the guest.
My takeaways from the convos serve me most as a young Black mom (33) to 2 boys,an infant and a toddler. Im very keen to learn and understand the Black males psychy, their challenges especially...from their childhoods/upbringings,and home lives, especially how their parents or parental figures influenced them, what they valued (or not) from their experiences to from them (in hindsight)...I may not get full marks for my parenting at the end of it all,but Ill be happy to know I was as mindful a parent as I could be. These interviews are lowkey highkey case studies for me🙂
Godspeed to the entire Team ..looking forward to even more great conversations from our Black men💌
Reading your words tells me that you're a sensation mom! Please keep it up and we'll keep helping where we can 🙏🏽❤️
Partially a good listener, it's the cutting off for me that's disruptive
Sometimes one appreciates a company of people with no intentions beyond company!
I see nothing wrong with that!
I truly enjoyed this interview. It has opened up my knowledge on certain life aspects. Siyabonga kakhulu zinsizwa
Diaries of a young rich south African cheese boy! Love this perspective of life's point of view.
Well done Penuel, a great interview!!
On a note of comfort:
People watched the interview to the end (including your detractors...) and that alone is an achievement. Lastly, I think each interview has different strengths and weaknesses, OR then its like a Jerry Springer show a "well written script & packaged show".. which looses the authenticity. Growth is the result!! Well done!!
Wow, well done Phesheya 👏🏽 on your evolution...so refreshing to see a young man leveling up this good.
Went to university with this guy. Used to see him a lot at OMSH and he was always a decent guy

@@valentineisraelshabangu4069 sorry I'm a dude.
Some people are lucky to grow up with parents who supported them through thick and thin, then the is us who had difficulty in navigating life, no supporting structure at all, only aunties and uncles who reminded us how useless we are.
This video and Rob Hersov are my favourite. Eish Shout out to Mr Duma
This was an amazing episode! I saw myself in big homie. Shout out to yall man. These conversations are very necessary.
"I stand on the shoulders of giants." Very reflective words those. Kudos to you Penuel & Pheyesa, this is a wonderful interview. Another gem from this channel 🔥
Very informative conversation , I have also learned a lot about how to raise a children more especially when as father able to provide almost everything they deserve during their upbringing , because it makes them to relax and see no need to work hard. We have to raise the warriors.
Mr Duma is a great storyteller ❤️
A very Humble Guy, @Godpenuel , thanks my guy. Keep on introducing us on these guys.
This man is genuine... Much respect mfanakithi 🙌
Penuel is an excellent listener, which explains why he has six children. His ability to remain calm and present is extraordinary. The guy can recall like made. Jordan Peterson has inspired many weak men to become strong. Truth is what redeem the world from hell. This was very therapeutic, great work guys. The truth is what saves the world from hell. This was extremely therapeutic; excellent work, guys. True conversations redeem people, and Penuel, if you can do more podcasts of a therapeutic nature, you can help so many young people like myself become better at a faster rate. Don't let Nkulenko Nkewu (with respect and humility to the guy) limit you to being just a content creator because he keeps saying that a lot but to me you are much more than that maybe because I am unhappy with my being who knows but thanks guys.
Love and blessings Azola 🙏🏽❤️ which explains why he has six children 😂😂😂
That one also killed me 😂😂😂
Which explains why he has six children?
Damn I can really relate to this guy's story, almost similar to my life..
Always love these conversations. Keeping on giving us Good Content Penuel.
Powerful story. Thank you for sharing, completely different perspective.
Dude, this guy is just like me. I'm doing my second year in varsity and live in res. Man, am I regretting the decision to live alone instead of with my parents Freedom is just so much. I really relate to Phesheya. I'd say his similarity in growing up to mine is 84%!
I really enjoyed this conversation, So insightful, IPhesheya is self aware & wise. I felt like the interview was short, I could listen to him speak all day. I can’t wait for the next segment.
This was a great conversation. Relatable content. Conversations we should be having for our generation. Great platform to unpack them. Shoutout Penuel.
Please bring this guy again this year(2023) Penuel 🙏🏽
Great educational, informative & insightful conversation 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌
Phesheya bro, I hope you are proud of yourself because you have SAVED many of our children's lives, as a black gen we are fighting for our kids to have that type of life but we didn't know they would face such challenges, Am sure we will cross ways, cant wait to shake your hand for this, again, Thank you bro
This conversation had me glued to my screen. Thanks for sharing your story.
Lot of menteers would benefit from you!Siyabonga
I love that Phesheya is acknowledging that growing up rich put him a step ahead in life. Great interview altogether
By far my favourite episode on this channel. thank you and keep up the good work.
I enjoyed this sitting. I resonate with what he shared about his life.
Grate family support structure.
Come back again.
Such an intense conversation. Eye opening. Pleasures of standing on generational wealth.
Best podcast I have watched all year, the guy is non-pretentious, and epitomises something something everyone can relate to.
I resonate so much with this man
Enjoyed this interview, so much wisdom.
I’ve walked that journey and to a certain extent it brought solace. My circle of influence were under the impression that I may have won thé lottery, not knowing that I was blowing cash that was invested for a certain purpose. That breakup messed me up big time.
Incredibly refreshing conversation and perspectives on masculinity matters. I didn’t know I needed this. Asbonge
So beautiful so authentic and very enlightening. Thank you both for such a stunning interview ❤️ ( had a good laugh about the hotbox story too 😅)
Thank you for sharing the link from the other side. This was very informative.
