- JetBlue Trip Report flying from New York to Miami onboard one of the new JetBlue Airbus A321Neo on a beautiful autumn morning on the US East Coast.
A comfortable flight from New York to Miami onboard the JetBlue A321neo. We flew in one of the newest Jetblue planes, fitted with the newest cabin (no-Mint), making the trip much more comfortable.
We departed JFK airport at Sunrise from runway 04L. Just after takeoff, we made a right turn to fly towards the Atlantic. The views of New York's outskirts were really nice with the golden light of the Sunrise. From there we flew towards Atlantic City. We continued in parallel to the US east cost, over North and South Carolina. After that we set an almost direct course to Miami. Already over Florida, we started our gradual descent towards Miami, where we landed after a beautiful approach over the coast.
About the onboard service, JetBlue offers a combination of included & paid snacks. Included on the ticket are snacks like crisps or cookies and drinks. If you want something slightly more elaborated, there is a small menu onboard. I went for the cheese snack box. Nothing special to be honest, but at least it filled my stomach... In addition to that, JetBlue is the only US airline that offers full internet connection for free for everyone onboard.
On this video, we'll also discuss if JetBlue is a proper Low-Cost airline and we'll be able to see it by ourselves. At the very least, JetBlue it's far from being a conventional low-cost airline. That doesn't mean it's a bad one, in fact, I think it's on the top of the US airlines, but describing your company as something that clearly is not... is not fair in my opinion. I would love to read your opinions after watching this Trip Report!

Great video. Jet Blue is the only airline we've been flying to FLL or PBI from EWR in the last 13 years. Love those new A32neo's - it's amazing how quiet the engines are. And they boogie, they get off the ground in a hurry.

Flew the same route and company in 2010. At that time Jetblue was the new kid on the block. The ticket was around 75 dollars each and included everything. I mean EVERYTHING, what these days are ekstra. And best of all, around 22-24 rows. Those were the days :-)

I don't know why these videos flying within the US don't work as good as others... it's a shame, as I love making these flights inside the US. Particularly the flights from coast to coast are amazing. They have so many things to see and to film... But for some reason, people are less interested on them =(

I love jetBlue, so I'm looking forward to this video, even though I won't be able to attend the premiere haha.
Personally, I feel like they're a step above the other US airlines I've tried, at least based on my 2 flights with them in 2019. I found every employee to be friendly and upbeat, the seats were comfortable and spacious (the old cabin had an excellent 34" of pitch. From what I've heard the new seats have 32", which is still good), there were IFE screens (I think B6 is the only US airlines to have personal entertainment screens on every single aircraft), and the snacks were more substantial than on the competition.
Disclaimer: I haven't flown on Delta yet, so I might prefer them to jetBlue if I ever give that airline a try. For now though, JetBlue is my favorite US airline.
Definitely, that's something we'll discuss on the video: they are definitely not a low-cost on the traditional definition.

Una pena que estos vídeos volando dentro de EEUU no funcionen tan bien como otros del canal... Por algún motivo no interesan tanto al público general, y solo lo hace a la gente que habitualmente ve todos los vídeos.

In Europe EasyJet is probably more important than WizzAir, together with Ryanair, which is more for the UK island, they are the leading ones. But JetBlue in the US seems for me like a major player, I can't wait to try them :) I tried almost all other major carriers in Northern America.

Excelente calidad del video !! Es sabido en USA que Jet Blue es una muy buena línea aérea. Creo que su modelo de negocio es único y podría decirse que es una Top Low Cost. Tene una muy buena imagen corporativa y ha tenido un buen crecimiento. Su estandarización de flota Airbus 320-321 logran que tenga una economía de escala que la hace competitiva además de su calidad de servicios a bordo. Muy buen reportaje. Saludos !!!

Tal vez hemos llegado a un punto en el que habría que inventar un nuevo nombre para estas aerolíneas que están entre las legacy y las low-cost...

Short flight but very small plane compare to you are accustomed to fly. I guess you felt like a sardine in a can lol. Very nice the symmetry of the buildings on the beaches and the other plane in flight to Miami. Thank you!

Hola excelente video, solo dos sugerencias que en mi opinión deberían haber puesto en los subtítulos, se ve que no hubo necesidad de aplicar reversas en los motores al aterrizar y no retrajeron los slats, ya me han tocado vuelos que los slats así quedan fn esa posición, tal vez por que así lo indique algún procedimiento de Airbus.
Se que es por unos sensores que con alta temperatura dan algún tipo de medición errónea, pero no se más, por eso no puse nada.

Honestly, in Europe there are a few more that we could call lowcost besides Ryanair and Wizz Air, even tho a few more are way smoller than both (Vueling, Transavia, Eurowings, etc etc) but there is also the giant Easyjet too :P
Easyjet could be also considered, yes.
All the others you said are not low-cost. They just don't follow the definition.
THey are owned by legacy airlines group that want to have "something" on the low-cost segment to compete with Ryanair, Wizz and Easyjet, but just by looking their usual prices, they are not low-costs.
They are some kind of hybrid. Affordable prices airlines I would call them :)
Easyjet is another big low cost carrier in Europ not just Wizzairt and Ryanair!!! But otherwise nice Vid

Thanks Lucas, I like Jet Blue and you're right to say they're not a low cost airline they are something in between a low cost and what a legacy airline maybe today.Azul in Brazil although an independent Company with different stakeholders was founded by the David Neeleman American Brazilian businesses man and follows JetBlue model now its the largest airline in Brazil in terms of fleet (164 planes) and cities served Although.Latam has more market share domestically and internationally. They only have snacks and complementary beverages on domestic flights, but they also have satellite tvs.I always prefer them to LATAM
Exactly, they are something in between, but in my opinion, they are already closer to a legacy one but "more modern".
A legacy airline with affordable prices and fresh look.

The only thing that drives me crazy about JetBlue? You have to fly from Florida to Boston or NYC & get a connecting flight to go to Las Vegas.

Jet Blue; low cost with benefits?
Oh? Since when did we appear to see Miles being used as distance units here? Only for U.S. based flights?
JetBlue is somewhat behind Delta, American, and United; and are just about tied with Southwest Airlines.
When we flew Delta from LAX to DTW earlier this year, we got a huge tailwind speed boost that our airplane's air speed broke Mach 1 at times!
haha On this flight I felt like the US viewers always get the info in KM, so at least once and particularly on a flight that is US domestic... they might like to see the distance info in Mi :)
I flew JetBlue with my family to head to my country Dominican Republic I want to Orlando Florida in 2017 I haven't been there once am I visited the capital of Santo Domingo I flew there I flew there in May of 2019 and again in 2021 add 2022 between the month of June and August and the recent trip to Dominican Republic was on May of 2023

¡No! no son solo 3, tambien american es low-cost; Fui a miami hace 3 dias y regrese con american airline y hasta el "aire ke respire" fue el mas barato... ¡Te equivocas y mucho! en estados unidos el menu low cost es muy usual. Parece ke nunca has viajado en low cost, porque en el ejemplo ke pones tienen pantallas detras de los sientos y eso kerido no es low cost real...
