@@SilhouetteSchool it just might be for a laser option to etch acrylic....would be an interesting option. I am gobsmacked they are still using the outdated and buggy bluetooth connection...why not WiFi it has great range and bandwidth....that would improve this machine like crazy. I am an IT engineer and Wifi method is best for network attached appliances like this device.
It’s going to be a scanner for pixscan if you notice on the website it currently says pixscan not on curio2 but in small print the website now says coming soon

i think that plug type c is for air dust assistant for engrave or acyclic

I am not super familiar with how the Cricut Snap Mat works, but from what I've read it sounds like Silhouette Pixscan Mat.
