It would be great if you could provide closed captions for the hearing impaired. I know that you provided this tutorial for us for free, and I appreciate that. Using the auto caption tool would be easy to do and would help a great deal. Thanks!
CB09 does great fine line engraving. I used 1 blade to do 20 license plates with a name, date and face on it...i thought i had my engraving tool(Amy's) in my machine but had forgotten to make the switch. For small and fine detail the CB09 really works well.
this was GREAT! THANK YOU!!!! I literally just took a page of notes. I was one of the first people to have the original Cameo, and even taught people classes on how to use it for years. Unfortunately life got in the way the last two years, and I haven't been updating my skills, ironically as Silhouette has rolled out SO many new products and software. But am getting back into all things Silhouette and my Cameo 3 just arrived. So I'm soaking up everything I can & this was such a helpful video! THANK YOU again!
Thanks for all the info. I was wondering why the CB09 blade is sticking out so much to cut vinyl, and you say it gives you really good cuts on vinyl on that setting, because when I cut vinyl with the rachet blade I mostly use number 1 or maybe 2 in the rachet blade scale, so it is the shortest setting, but the one on your CB09 looks like a 20 on the deep cut blade, so it looks too deep for me and I wonder ... any tip to find out the right setting for vinyl with theCB09?
Can you make a video of you using the chomas metal etching tool in the silhouette cameo 3. And let us know the settings and stuff?? I would like to try to metal etch jewelry pendants. But I don’t want to buy a whole other machine if I didn’t have to!
I just bought the cameo 4 that I get today, and I'm excited to start using it. I'm curious though can it engrave on metal to make metal bracelets and dog tags ??
I was gifted a new portrait 2 and there was no blades with it. I was wondering if you had any idea or could help me with what ones I could use for my machine and where to purchase them. I would be very grateful. Thank you ❤️
You mentioned that the deep cut blade cuts fun foam. I have bought that blade for that exact material but it is not cutting the foam at all. I have used the blade at 20, force of 33 for 2 passes. When I take the mat out after the cutting is supposed to be done nothing has been cut. There are no marks on the fun foam. Can you share any tips for cutting the foam with my Cameo? Thanks for all your great videos!
Hi there! Check out our list of compatible blades for the line of Cameo 4s here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2020/09/silhouette-cameo-4-tools-and-blades.html
Oh my goodness - thank you sooo much for doing this video. You've answered many blade questions for me. 😀 I'm wondering -- you mentioned both etching and embossing when using the scoring tool. I'm not sure I understand what you mean by etching. Explain? Thank you.
Hi thank you so much for this informative video. Question for you. I would like to cut thin sheet metal and didn't want to buy it unless the deep cut blade will work for it. Can the deep cut blade cut through craft metal thickness 1.5mm?
Hi!! Love your video!! I bought the Cameo 4 about a month ago and I've been enjoying getting to know the machine. I'm trying to engrave blanks to make necklaces for my family, but the software is having a hard time recognizing the Amy Chomas engraving tool. Can you please help me because I'm not sure if I can engrave with my auto blade and I don't want to mess anything up!!
hey how are you doing ?i'm alvin ,i'm having a hard time to use my silhouette cameo 4.it not cutting well,it only cutting the plastic on top of the vinyl not the vinyl and i'm using the blade that come with .it not cutting deeply
Hello! I have a question... I need a blade to engrave but i don't know if it will last long... Do you know how much does it endures? Or how many times i can use it until it blunts out?
anybody know how to install the DEEP CUT BLADE into curio? it doesn't have the little lip that the other blades have. not sure if the triangular shaped blade should be positioned a certain way to cut properly. daalu.
can someone help me with a cameo 4. new machine, factory ratchet auto came with, trying to cut vinyl. material twists and turns halfway through cut. frustrated. please help
have you made one of these videos for the Cameo 4? My wife is trying to do faux leather ear rings with her Cameo 4 and we don't see a ratchet blade forsale for the Cameo 4... we have the auto blade and the rotary blade. Do I need to buy a cameo 3 ratchet blade and use the adapters? Thanks
I cannot get the right depth for my CB09 blades for my vinyl...I've been trying all day and I'm about to throw my machine out the window! Please advise
Hello :) I assume cameo's autoblade is the same as the ratchet blade with the bonus of self adjusting? Also, I'm wondering what you would recommend to cut through laminate? I've been able to do it with the autoblade with 2 passes on highest pressure (33) and depth 7-8, but now the blade is kinda failing on me, so I think, even though it's possible, it ruins the blade very quickly. I was thinking the deep cut blade could be the solution, but then it's not really a very THICK material, just a very STURDY one. Would a lower pressure setting but more passes work out? I'd love to hear some tips if anyone have any to share :D
CZ FanGrrl yes, it works very well and it’s much better than the autoblade. I find that the autoblade is never on the same setting and takes to long to start.
Thanks a million for this! I have an extremely urgent question. Will the Amy chomas CB09 blade holder work with “Portrait 2”housing? As the portrait 1 housing has a fin to tighten, while the portrait 2 doesn’t.
I've been wondering that too. something that I've been wanting to try, is using the Veramarker pen, (*1) which is what we used when teaching people how to wet emboss at Paper Source (I used to teach the classes there) The other pen that can work is the Quickie Glue pen. (*2) Generally glue shouldn't be used for embossing, as it burns. But we found, after lots of experimentation, that it doesn't take much heat to emboss such a small space, and the glue doesn't have time to get overheated and burn. So if you buy one of the pen or marker holders, you can use the marker or the pen to emboss. Hope this helps. How do you know when it's time to change your blade? I'm cutting Oracal 651 and FDC glitter. My auto blade was cutting fine till yesterday, now I'm having to go back over the cuts with an exact o knife. HELP!!!
You didn't say which degree of CB09 is the best. I'd be cutting paper/ cardstock and want to try those blades. Can you recommend a blade angle for me? 45? 90? Thanks a bunch! Enjoyed your video! xoxo Jen PS: would LOVE a follow up video on how to use the CB09 in the Silhouette.. how to choose the angle and how to figure out blade depth, etc.. Thanks!
I found this website for the big expensive vinyl cutters. They explain the difference in the blade. The 45 is for paper and such. The 60 is for deep cut. www.uscutter.com/Roland-Replacement-Blade-Pack-3-60-degree-and-3-45-degree-blades
the cb09 blade is way out to far. and that what us professional cutters us. we us blades from cleancut but they cost $17.00 each. I on my 4th year with mines there good for some say 5 or more years. the key is to have multiple holders for different materials.and all by blades are 60* blades not 45*. the same blade can cut vinyl, paper, htv,. then I have one set for flock, rhinestone material and thick material. then another for window tint film.
Very confusing video. You say don't use a certain blade for fabrics, then you say the fabric blade is identical to it, just a different color. And why not tell us your great secret as to what setting to put the CB09 on for vinyl?

Yes - you can use this blade: shrsl.com/4jfl9
Can the embossing tool be used in the cameo instead of a cutting blade?

Hi there! Check out our list of compatible blades for the line of Cameo 4s here: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2020/09/silhouette-cameo-4-tools-and-blades.html

Can I stipple, sketch, etch, emboss and deboss using cameo 4?
Hi, is there a chance you could tell me if the new deep cut blade would work with cameo 2? Would need it to cut chipboard.

Can the premium blade be used in Cameo 4? Does it need to be used with an adapter?

I just notice that NO ONE'S questions are answered in this long thread. What is the point of the not answering?

Hi, is there a way to wet emboss ( using versamark & embossing podwer) a printed design from the Silhouette?

Nope, tried the versamark pen & it dries before the silhouette is done drawing.
Thank you for this☺

I'm using a Cameo 3
Michael McCormick most likely the tip was damaged and it needs to be replaced.
my cameo 3 blade stop adjusting what should i do
owen jeffrey buy a new blade. The other possibility is that you have the wrong style of blade selected.

hi, Thanks for your video. what blade can I use for presentation board?
🔥🔥🔥
Very confusing video. You say don't use a certain blade for fabrics, then you say the fabric blade is identical to it, just a different color. And why not tell us your great secret as to what setting to put the CB09 on for vinyl?
I thought you thought the same thing
