SUMMARIES:
- Cheese lovers should know that each full cheese pizza from Costco contains over a pound of cheese. The cheese blend used on Costco food court pizzas is a combination of part-skim, low-fat mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Costco keeps food court prices very low because they want their customers to enjoy the whole Costco experience...and keep coming back. People love visiting Costco food courts during their Costco shopping trips, in part because the food and drink offered is just so affordable.
- Pizza slices and hot dogs may be the first things that people think of when they hear the words, "Costco Food Court", but there is another food court menu item that gets rave reviews, even though it's not quite as famous.
- If you visit a Costco with an outdoor food court, you won't need a membership to get your hands on cheap, filling and yummy Costco grub. If the food court is inside, you probably will need a membership.
- Costco serves about one hundred million food court hot dogs each year. Costco actually started out serving nothing but hot dogs at its retail outlets. There were hot dog carts onsite, rather than the larger food kiosks that we see now.
- Most Costco employees love eating at Costco food courts, but they don't get employee discounts on hot dogs, pizza slices, and other Costco food court fare. They have to pay full retail like everyone else.
- In Canada, it's possible to enjoy poutine at Costco food courts. In case you don't know, poutine is a pile of french fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. Yes, it's as delicious as it sounds.
- Most of us don't expect huge, cheesy slices of pizza or hot dogs to be super-healthy. When we order fast food, we realize that we're indulging in food that tends to come with a lot of calories, fat grams and sodium.
- Ever tried a Chicken Bake from Costco food court? Whether you have or haven't, you'll be pleased to know that these menu items are made fresh and this is part of the reason why they are so delicious.
- Lots of fast food outlets change their menus sometimes and then get complaints. It's quite common for people to miss older menu items that have been discontinued. This has happened with the Costco food court menu.

Seriously. This was dumb
I'm a former Costco food court employee and was really excited to hear some of the secrets, but this was literally just an ad with no "secrets"...
I’m glad I read your comment before finishing the video.
Any secrets to actually tell?
@@littlemacisunderrated412 lol im from food court, so I really know stuff about the food court. A. If your Costco has the hamburger in the food court, do not get it! They don’t have a cleaning procedure for it so it was super gross.
B. Churro + berry sundae = berry runner cake
C. Screaming at the employees that the onions are out doesn’t make them move faster
D. Asked for non-pre wrapped hot dogs or for them to make sure to get the water off of the hot dogs. Sometime, when they are busy, they pre-wrap hot dogs that makes the bugs get soggy and gross.
E. It’s okay to ask for specifics like “the freshest alive of pizza” or “extra cinnamon and sugar on the churro “. My personal favorite is extra berries in the sundae.
F. The yogurt machines ALWAYS break on hot days. So get there before the rush if you wanna make sure you get it.
G. Contrary to popular belief, the chicken bakes are freshly made that day and are not the same ones that are frozen in the store.
H. One cool secret in the store that I use is if an item is out on the shelves, sometimes they have carts filled with stuff near the registers that are for “go-backs”. It’s generally discouraged for people to look through those, but if you need an item, you get pick it up from there before the employee takes it back to the shelf. This was useful a lot during covid or Christmas.
@@austinnunns9826 now you sound more accurate instead of just saying oh I’m from the the food court
@@kaiserpalpatine2093 thanks? Lol I didn't know I needed to prove my identity to some random people in the UA-cam comments, but okay 👍🏻
As someone that works in a Costco food court, please be nice to us. We know you’re hungry and we know you pay $60 a year for your membership but there’s no need to be mean and/or throw your money at us. I had a lady spit on me because we no longer served chocolate yogurt. That’s the stuff we go through.
I hate that you've gone through that. I've worked my share of retail and food service, especially in some of the more well-to-do areas and some people can just be fucking terrible. I literally had nightmares about one of my retail jobs when I quit. It was mostly being in that position where I'm not allowed to retaliate or say anything to the customers when they were being verbally and even physically abusive to me (only physically in the dream, verbally all the time irl though). Keep your head up and always remind yourself, their attitude is almost always a them-problem, not a you-problem.
Y'all remember, it's not okay to be a dick to someone just because they're obligated to be nice to you. If you feel like you aren't getting what you need, you'll always catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Every retail employee will tell you that they're 1000x more likely to go out of their way to help you if you're earnest and polite, and if you're an asshole, they will do as little as possible to make you happy because you seem like a lost cause when you have an attitude from the get-go. You want the bare minimum of service? Act as entitled as possible as soon as you start talking to the person who has to serve you. Guarantee it every time.
kmfdm6209 those are people who never had a real job
kmfdm6209 honey, everyone who works in retail has to deal with the worst of the worst. 😕 There’s simply no excuse for it.

Costco makes the majority of their profits on memberships, not in store sales
I highly doubt that statement
@@steverich3585 they state it in their disclosures
Not true. Costco makes the majority of their profit on people buying things on sale trying to make up for the loss of the $60 membership. Yes, Costco makes bank on memberships, but that is not where their majority of profits come from.
They wholesale it. You pay for what they payed for it. That membership gets them the money
No, its true Costco makes there money from membership. Because of Costco's 100% return policy for anything with the exception of a 90 day policy for electronics. Costco makes there money off of memberships.

It was mentioned that the Canadian Costco's have poutine. Having tried this high carb treat in many different provinces, Costco's version is the best, beating out high end restaurants. The saddest thing was they reformulated the mocha freeze, making it much worse, then doubled the price. Next saddest was the ice cream bar demise. I would have paid $3 for the old mocha freeze...if they doubled the size. I would definitely try that lasagna. Chicken pies would be nice too. Maybe some other ingredient options for the chicken bake.
I don't really think they have great pizza crust. I like a bit of olive oil and cornmeal on the bottom...but it is not cooked on a stone but a conveyor, so maybe that just is not realistic. They need a conveyor with a bunch of hot stones and a quick cleaning method to avoid the burnt bits from previous cycles. The crust can be a bit thin and gooey, again probably victim to the need for speed.
Quality control of chicken bakes is a bit lax. I often bite into one end just for the other end to dribble all over my shirt. Now I rip them in half first.
I did usually order the polish. Though, I am ok with the hotdog.
what do they do with the hour old pizza ? do they throw it out ?
The pizza is too big and blah. Needs basil . Olive oil and basil I mprove pizza much.
fujitsubo I worked at a Costco for 18 years (not in the food court) and I don’t recall anyone ever saying anything about throwing away old pizza, but that’s probably because it sells long before that. Makes me wonder how many slices I’ve eaten over that period of time. At this point I’m sick of the combination pizza, but I still love the pepperoni and the cheese!🍕
Try the chicken bake. My favorite food item.
Jodi J I’ve had my fair share of those, but I feel like they need some kind of dressing to dip in. My Costco stopped giving out the cups of caesar dressing with them, so I started bringing ranch packets from home.
Costco now requires membership cards in all food courts.

By store design, food comes after checkout so you don't the card to get there. You just walk through the exit, pass member services and into the cafe. You don't need a membership to buy food either so it's never been restricted regardless of if the location has indoor or outdoor food service.
Nice 👍
I 💖Costco so much! ESPECIALLY the pizza! Bruh, its SO good! And the samples! 😜😄🙂
Seems like it's an ad for costco.. But i gotta admit.. This video may have convinced me to get a membership
If you are as I am a single guy, you're far better off to have a friend buy you a $100 gift card on their membership. And where I live gasoline's more than $4 a gallon, so driving to Costco costs me $5.
Joseph, 76, Esquimalt, BC
Honestly the savings on basic toiletries alone pretty much pays for the membership. 36 rolls of their generic toilet paper is like $25, I've gotten it on sale for $15-17 in the past. And it's really pretty good TP as far as all that goes. 12 rolls of paper towels for $20. 200 trash bags for $17. All stuff that you're going to buy anyway. Oh, and they have this shaving set with a handle and like 20+ 3-blade carts for ~$20, pretty damn sharp too. Shaving supplies are absurdly expensive elsewhere. What surprised me last time I went in was the price of their mattresses compared to your standard mattress store. I think the last mattress I bought from one of those places was a discounted floor model that still ran over $700, and Costco has pillow tops for $200-300. Plus, if it's in your area and you have a membership, you can't really beat dropping in for a hot dog AND a drink for $1.50. It's more than enough to fill you up.
Just saying... A membership is worth it, even if you don't really need to buy many things in bulk.

My cousin used to work in a Costco Food Court and she said they DO make a profit in the food courts and Hot Dogs are cheap because they have their own meat company. The fact is that Costco gets their products dirt cheap to sell especially for the Food Courts. The companies that sell cheap to Costco make money on volume and not on pricing. I've worked for Costco (recently got fired though.) But all of this is true. If you get a cheese pizza, its HEAVY. Its cause of so much cheese. And its true we used a machine that spins the pizza instead of physically applying the sauce. It makes our pizza super uniform and identical. Almost like cloning. Also we use the belt system to cook the pizza. Not using an oven with a pizza board. And be warned, not all costcos sell the same stuff. My store for example only has pizza, chicken bake, the turkey sandwich, and some desserts. Ive never once seen our store have fries or Chicken wings.
What happens to the pizza that they need to get rid of after an hour? Do they just throw it away? I'm guessing it mostly sells cause they seem busy constantly
I love their hotdogs but I haven’t seen the beef brisket at my local Costco!
Every time my family goes on a family vacation, or a rode trip. we get lunch at castco
Thanks for sharing this amber miller! 😄 Did you like the video?
When I was unemployed I use to go to the costco allot to eat, not just the pizza and hot dog but also the chicken salad.
If you want to get to the food, just enter through the store exit. That is usually where the membership desk is so you just walk by the desk and continue to the food court. They never check for membership when you order.
Unfortunately they do require membership now
@@JohnKwiatkowski_is_awesome It's still not required at any of my local Costcos. It must be location specific.
10 yrs ag0
At a place I worked I made pasta bowls with Alfredo sauce, red peppers, chicken, provolone, spinach and mushrooms. The thing is, the parts to make a really good meal are there but people don't ask for them so they aren't included in the meals or aren't cost effective.
Drinking game: drink every time you hear Costco
LOL! Sorry about that.
Shots of whiskey n u will be in the hospital lol
Don't for get the munchies....pizza slices!
MY POOR LIVER!!
😂😂😂😂
If u go to Costco in Canada. Pizza is different and we have poutine
How is the pizza different? I wish I could try it!
NOW YOU NEED A MEMBERSHIP! I just went the other day and was denied food from the Costco food court and the court is out side ! You don't even need to enter the store !! I was so disappointed.

Even if the food court's inside, you can walk in through the exit and get food without a membership. If the receipt checker asks where you're going just tell them it's to the food court and they'll let you through.
I've done it numerous times when I just want a lunch and don't want to walk the long way around. I do have a membership but so far I haven't been stopped and never showed it.
Need card
But yet I still get customers that are mad cause they cant buy the hotdog w/o a drink, it's still a good deal.🙄
I've always wondered why they don't provide the option and reduce the price by like 50 cents.
this is just a huge costco ad lmfao
Only thing I hate about Costco is the heavy traffic in the parking lots
When my husband and I went to the Costco in Honolulu, they serve pistachio ice cream in a waffle cone! My husband had to stop there everyday we were there to get a cone. The last full day we were there, we stopped to get gas and then get him the ice cream... They closed an hour earlier than the ones in the states. They were lowering the metal screens as it was an outdoor food court right as we were going up. I thought that he was going to cry. He talks about that happening to this day. That happened in December of 2013. It’s the only food court that serves Pistachio ice cream. Not even on any of the other islands there. He said it was the best ice cream for the cost he ever had.
