+1 for adding a map. I was even more confused about where things were than you were. Some people might not like having a map, but it's a basic accessibility option that allows other people to not run around for half an hour trying to figure out where they haven't gone yet. If developers want the default experience to not have a map, that's fine, but at least add it as an option. It doesn't remove anything from the experiences of others, and it allows the people who want or need it to enjoy the game. Like, no-one objects to having the option of subtitles for people who are hard of hearing. Yet many people seem to have no problem very loudly objecting to even having options that would let other people have fun.
@@EpsilonRosePersonal Eh, that seems like a whole mechanic in and of itself, that would distract from shooting things with fireballs. If the game is about exploration, that might make sense. But in a procedural dungeon crawling arpg, it would probably just be a distraction. There doesn't seem to be a need to return to where you've already been in this game (except to get to somewhere you haven't been), so being able to mark things on a map probably wouldn't be useful (as long as you can figure out where the occasional locked door is). If a developer wants to provide that, that's fine, but they should also just have a basic functional map that gets the job done. There are also games that provide a basic functional map, but then they also allow you to draw whatever you want on them.
@@blueredingreen Yeah. I didn't fully realize how throwaway the dungeon layouts were when I wrote that comment. Just having a map is almost certainly the better solution in this case.
Why you havent heard of it before is because it was used to be called Kings & heroes, and as you might guess the "past" didnt go so well so heres the game with same lacking content but different name. oh they made it Singleplayer / co-op game now? lol ran out of funds to keep servers open huh ( it was MMO before with overworld instead of png map menu thingy, also looks like they removed the DnD like passive skill system with the dice rolls from the character creation, shame)
16:03 Barony is one of my favourite games. But it is hard to get into and figure out what you're supposed to be doing, and once you know, you inevitably get caught up min-maxing everything you do because that's how you win. It's unfortunate that they struck the balance they did, but it's still a lot of fun. Also, there are a good amount of accessibility option. You can disable the minotaur spawn and disable hunger, for example. I never felt like there was ever a brick wall, but there was a rather steep difficulty curve and you need to manage your resources well.
0:53 Wander skips dialogue: "Give me quests. I want to go fight things." 1:53 "Give me kill. Want shiny." Reminds me of TNMT Raphael: "Just tell me what to hit." And not caring about the details either. At least Wander scrolls through the dialogue so viewers can read it. Tho I do like gamers reading the dialogue for us. I disagree with Wander saying reading is for nerds.
There are some games I play for gameplay, and others I play for plot. This is definitely one of the former. Also from a content creation perspective, people stop watching so fast if I spend more than half a minute on story & lore, unless the game's story & lore are the most important parts- so I usually try to avoid getting stuck on story. Especially if I'm only doing an impressions video.
@@aaronsherwood5378 It's definitely lower budget than BG3, and it shows. The character models and voice acting is sub par, but IMO forgivable considering the actual gameplay and tools the game comes with. Again, if you're a huge fan of D&D 5e, it's worth a buy. Solasta is also not in early access and has plenty of support, a decent fanbase/fan made content, and expansions.
Played this game myself, pretty fun dungeoncrawler with several hourlong dungeons, combat is a bit wonky and lategame gearing kinda sucks arse imo... We didnt have the goblin when i played tho, so thats nice, and the dungeons are actually not precedually generated, they are handmade and have the same layout everytime A big criticism i leveled towards the game aswell was the lack of a map... or atleast a minimap would do alot aswell Hope wander atleast finishes the first dungeon 😅 Edit, i def agree also that the paragon point esk system feels low impact and that a skill tree system would be awesome for the game Though i wish for something a little more interesting than d2 esk... last epoch has a cool system that could really shine here aswell imo
I dont really know how the other classes match up, but Im wondering if a regening mana system for spell casting would allow wizards to stay strong, but not just blow thru enemies so easily. Or keep the cooldowns but up the encounters, cuz flaming hands for example just kinda roasts through everything. Not that its a bad thing, but I imagine some people are gonna want a little more of a challenge. Then again I also have no idea what scaling is like in other dungeons. A mana system could at least put a minor restraint on when to use ur beefier spells so lesser spells dont just get straight up outclassed. That way weaker spells retain relevancy by being more cast economical. Looks fun though. Looking forward to seeing the other races they have planned like lizardfolk.
Well there is a limit but it's set at level 1000 so that's going to take you so much time that the game is already worth it if it last that long for you.
Well there's a minimap now. Better late than never!

They could also go the Etrian Odyssey route and give you tools for drawing your own map, in game.

This game's gameplay reminds me of Hellgate London but medieval fantasy setting and somehow seems clunkier.
It does look pretty interesting though.
Booyahg Goblin best Goblin 👺
dark messiah of might and magic spells and interactions would be hilarious
surprise for me, i already own this game. time to install and enjoy!
Games officially out now.
I don't know how I've never head of this game before, it's even on PS5. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Hey man want someone to play with? 😅 also looking for peeps
@@thepurehealer1279 That's tempting, but unfortunately I'm too cheap to pay for PS+, so I don't have online capabilities.
There's like zero forgiveness for not having a map in a procedural dungeon. Everything else I can work with, but NO MAP? What is this? 1989?
yes this is 1989
I mean it is early access
Yes on Neverwinter Nights. Loved messing around in that game.
"This isn't to bad!" he says as his camera settings teleport the contents of my stomach onto the walls of my room.

I beat the Crypt and it seems like these levels are massive, might have taken so long because of the lack of a map.
So this is loot goblin: the game
Actually on sale atm for the first time for both the PS4 & 5

Solasta is a great CRPG, and a must buy if you love D&D 5e.
They're still adding content, too.

the visibility with that camera angle is atrocious. Its almost perfectly calculatedly to be one of the worst 3rd person views you could do.

There is now a mini map
I love it when you have to discover your surroundings (or neighbors) in a 3D game
Are you friend ? _get smack_
peak comedy here

Darkmoon, like Darkmoon in WoW? Lol
In Dungeons of Sundaria can i get unlimited Heroism levels

I cant see the enemys
No map is good. I bet in multiplayer you'll end up with someone who has a good sense of direction.
This game would have been great 15 years ago. Now it’s kind of meh, especially for the price.
You don't seem prepared for your own video.
