    1. Belted Notes
For a note to be considered Golden, it must be consistently "perfect" in the vocalists' range. They must be able to sustain it with resonance, and be able to sing it with resonance on a very consistent basis.
    Golden: 3.0 points
    Ringing inconsistent/consistently grounded: 2.5
    Grounded inconsistent: 2
    Free consistent: 1.75
    Inconsistently free: 1
    Tense: .5
Underbelts are notes that are ringing under the vocalists' starting note, and as Lara is a soprano that means notes under G4. They can either earn 1 point for inconsistent resonance, or 1.5 for consistent.
    2. Low Notes
    Golden: 2.0
    Full Fairly Consistently: 1.75
    Inconsistently full: 1.25
    Inconsistently free: 0.75
    Tense/Airy: 0.25
    3. Head Voice
    Golden: 2.0
Inconsistently Resonant or consistently grounded 1.75
    Inconsistently grounded 1.25
    Inconsistently free 0.75
    Tense 0.25
    4. Whistle Notes
    Golden: 0.3
    Not golden but Musical: 0.2
    Off-key: 0.1
    7. Vocal Control:
    Here is Stamina explained!
1/4: First Song vs Last Song: This point is earned if the vocalist is able to sing the last song in their concert just as well as the first.
    Lana earns this point.
2/4: First Show vs Last Show: This point is earned if the vocalist is able to perform their last show in a tour to the same height as their first.
    Lana earns this point.
3/4: This point is earned if the vocalist did not rely on lipsyncing to perform their more challenging songs.
    Lana earns this point.
4/4: This point is earned if the vocalist consistently adds ad-libs that are not in the studio versions of their songs to their live performances.
Lana constantly does this to her own songs and covers.
    8. Vocal Effects:
For each skill that the vocalist is capable of, they earn a point. If they are a master of this skill, they earn two points.
    9. (Lack of) Vocal Issues: Here, if the vocalist has any major issues, they are deducted a varying amount of points from the ten given in this category.
    10. Consistency/Longevity: If the vocalist has struggled with consistency in the past or has drastically declined from their prime, they will have points deducted in this category from 5.

I think we all know that Lana's goal was never to be a huge vocalist, but using her voice as an artistic complement to her music, what doesn't make sense to me is people using a performance (from 10 years ago, at the beginning of her career) in order to discredit her vocal abilities, when in fact many good vocalists had disastrous performances, is not something unique to Lana. But either way, she has very unique vocal characteristics, a low register and head voice that many singers who focus only on belting don't come close to having, she would be phenomenal if she focused on improve her vocal abilities.

  • @GarageStudio7

Lana's voice is quite nostalgic, plus memorable; her artistry is also captivating.
I can only imagine how she would sound if she actively trained her voice.
For an untrained voice, it's like she naturally has 🎶 _the best of both worlds_ 🎶 (in my Hanna Montana voice). C#3 in lows (even though it's inconsistent, most Sopranos have to work for that and many don't even get there. Resonant 4th octave notes, grounded & free E5 (inconsistent).
It really seems like she's a hybrid voice type: *A Dugazon Soprano.*
She is a better vocalist than I thought. Thanks for this showcase & analysis!

I'm waiting for people to classify her as a Dugazon even though it's not necessary. She's a pop singer she doesn't have to be called a Dugazon. She's just a mid soprano. Her fifth octave belts/mix is surprisingly good. She's an atypical type of vocalist. Her lows are gorgeous and her head voice is very pretty.

    • @ThePianoguy89
      @ThePianoguy89 2 роки тому +7

@@liveinlove4945 Is she an opera singer? Yes or no? That's not making up a Fach system. The Fach system is for classical singers. She's just simply a soprano. Saying words like low, mid, or high are just descriptors. It's describing the kind of soprano she is without giving her a classical voice classification.

    • @liveinlove4945
      @liveinlove4945 2 роки тому +3

@@ThePianoguy89 Soprano, Mezzo-Soprano and Contralto are still voice classifications from fach.
So you are still using the fach system. Trying to alter it with Low Soprano, Mid Soprano and High Soprano doesn't change that.

    • @ThePianoguy89
      @ThePianoguy89 2 роки тому +7

@@liveinlove4945 Terms like dramatic, lyric, and spinto are sub-types. Those are vocal classifications for the German Fach system. Soprano, mezzo soprano, contralto, tenor, baritone, and bass are voice types and those terms have been adapted outside of classical vocal music. It's not necessary to classify a non-classical singer as a lyric, spinto, dramatic, coloratura, or any of those hybrid voice types. It doesn't always translate well into contemporary music. So again calling someone a low or mid soprano is not making up the Fach system. That's why there needs to be a distinction between voice types and voice classification. There's a difference. All you need to know that she's a soprano voice. That's it.

Soprano tessitura goes WAY below G3, lmao, you probably think of modern pop-sopranos but they are hardly even developed when it comes to overall voice core and solid lower range base, it's like talking tenors shouldn't have anything lower than C3 within their consistent range but it's bs, I'm a very high tenor and my consistent lows goes down to G#2, again, range has nothing to do with your voice type

And even though vocal range does not determinate your vocal type, its still important to classify a voice. The main form to determinate your vocal type is to identify your tessitura (comfort region) and your passagio zone, and the passagio zone of a mezzo is D5-E5, wich is where she can't go further without mixing, not necessarily 'cause it breaks, but because of a change of color and texture in the voice.

Typical lyric mezzo has passagio at E4-A4-E5 (those are actually my passagios as well), that's actually what Adele sounds like (normal mezzo-soprano, especially now, in her earlier years she was a higher mezzo, now she's kinda typical one)
Again, you were confused, females has 3 passagios just as males, don't spread misinformation please, Lana seems to have her 2 belting passagio around B4/Bb4, this is where her voice tends to be inconsistent/she needs to adjust her voice, a sign of passagio area
