When I was a young little idiot, I fell for a much simpler version of this on Roblox. No discord involved, I just typed my password in a game. The scam dude logged into my account and bought a tee shirt thing with my last 40 Robux. I got my account back and reported the tee shirt as fraudulently purchased to Roblox, they sent me some generic "we have received your report but can't update you on the status of your report and can not remove the shirt or refund your Robux". 3 days later my account was banned for a week because the tee shirt said "shit". Definitely taught me not to be a silly little idiot, that's for sure...

It's crazy how advanced these scams got. In 2012, a guy told me to buy this shirt for admin in his "popular" game. I believe the game had 800k visits at the time, so he said he is selling admin for his super active game in 250 robux. I bought it, obviously got scammed. He's banned and all but that was just 250 robux. it's crazy that scammers just want to steal your account now.
funny fact, i just got a dm on dc, the guy was saying that he wants to use my "avatar" which was just a skeleton character on roblox thats worth 175 robux and he will pay me 300 robux. i alr knew that this was a scam and played along, he sent me a tutorial teaching me how to "send my avatar" when infact it was me sending him my roblox cookie. i just wasted his time saying my internet is bad for like 15 mins till he got tired and blocked me. edit: TYSM FOR ALL THE LIKES :))))
I used to get these scams a lot, I'd just pretend the file is too big to send over Discord. One time the scammer bought me 1 month of Nitro to increase the filesize limit
its tech these days improving, and with it, slowly ppl either learn/generate new scamming ideas, or finally figure out how not to get scammed by the latest ones. Its no longer the old "login to R0bl0" or something similar to roblox

fun fact: the real reason discord is abbreviated is because Roblox has a chat filtering system, and basically if u try to type ANY other brand like UA-cam, Discord, Twitter or anything (except Guilded) it will tag the whole message

for the scammer saying “we don’t want to get copyrighted for using your outfit.” Its not possible, you cant copyright claim somebody for using a roblox avatar, its impossible. its something different if it has your face, name, or any other private details. for a copyright claim, you need to file copyright on something legally. like in court, they will find it silly and not let you copyright an outfit on a video game. you can sue if they use a shirt with any of your personal unique information. like, face, email, ssn, credit card info, address, etc. if its your name like “John” you cant do it because names are reused. but if its a full name, you might be able to. just depends on what the court rules fair use, and not fair use
Even if personal info is bypassed and your wearing the item it's still your fault for uploading a decal or shirt with your name or something that Roblox doesn't even allow
After not playing for a very long time, I logged in and saw this guy asking to buy my games which had 300K+ visits. I joined their server, was a bit interested since I don't play Roblox anymore but thanks to you; I know how that verification scam works and didn't verify. Reported to Discord and left the server.
I find it astounding that Roblox filters the word Discord, but is working with Discord for an event and actively gives it the AOK for game devs that time and time again have been outed for exploiting children

Oh, yeah. I remember looking up those stupid videos on how to get free robux when i was younger. I actually ended up falling for the scam by typing in my user and password on a website, but somehow, I didn't get hacked, LOL. Thankfully, I've changed my user and password since then.
I was a victim to this group, I got my account back before they could do anything (i'm not THAT dumb) but in my case, i'm a roblox developer, and they were asking to "buy one of my roblox games" which led to me verifying in the server since they ask to talk in the server with them. Pretty sure everyone that is actually verified in there are bots.

Bro this aint Roblox's fault, they are stealing their cookies, which Roblox can't control. If anything, put shame on Google for allowing bookmarks to be able to do things like this.
One way to avoid this, is the general knowledge that Bloxlink is the main verification tool used to verify your account from Roblox to Discord, so if a server doesn't use Bloxlink, that's an instant red flag.
The reason why they take messages from the Sol’s RNG Discord, is because of the games immense popularity on Roblox. Another reason, is that people that aren’t very bright fall for these scams, and the people that fall for them, most likely play Sol’s RNG.

i got so many messages about people asking for permission to use my avatar and i recently changed my settings so that strangers cannot message me or join my games. it's a lot better now
This whole scam can just be avoided if you use 2% of your brain and realize Roblox owns the rights to all avatar items, accessories, pretty much anything under their umbrella, which means you cannot by extension DMCA them over "your" avatar you do not actively own the rights too, sure you can use it and Roblox allows you to use said customization of course, but at the end of the day, you do not own those items, the people who made them via UGC? They made it sure, but once again, Roblox owns the full legal rights to said assets, so the scam template outright stating they can get "DMCA copyrighted" from you specifically is genuinely hilarious to me

this is insane. i took down a similar scam about a month ago. it was like a downgraded version of this. they got their victims into their server with a message offering Robux, limiteds, or real money to use the victims avatar as an npc in their game. in their discord server, the bots just sent the same messages on loop. it had the same rolinked thing, but instead of stealing your account, it attempted to buy a specific gamepass (that got deleted pretty quickly), created an API key, then advertised their scam. unexpectedly, the API key wasnt to steal your games or anything. they were using it to loop ban their victims' accounts, presumably by uploading innapropriate assets. very weird.
Every day i get scam messages. they usually either target devs or people with a lot of limited value. the downside of having 500k+ value on this crappy platform.

One major thing i learned over the years of being scammed, Never send code of ur inspect element and paste on to a website just because a youtube video says so "thats called cookie password stealing" 2. dont download anything that's too good to be true like copying roblox code or hacks for a roblox game, in order to hack you just need a executor and use trustworthy scripts not a download 3.Email roblox if your items get stolen i gotten my 80k worth of robux back from limiteds

Is that not possible in js? Python works the same as js (as you've described it) if you surround a string with '

you can’t even copyright someone for using “your” avatar. For one, all avatar item are free to use by anyone and that’s the reason that they’re on the marketplace. It’s also fair use. You wouldn’t/can’t copyright someone for having a matching outfit.

@@hellocar123 They sell the accounts they steal which can actually bring so much money depending on how wealthy that account is, like does it have limited items, does it have so much robux, does it have an really rare item, ETC. all these things make the account either expensive or cheap depending on what it has, so if he manages to spot an account that is actually so expensive and sell it, they can get a lot of money from it
With such evidence just report their account to the Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and they should hopefully take care of him. With such large amounts of money being made off of this online scam he would most likely face some sort of real world punishment.
Probably another rabbit hole you could go down through is UA-cam shorts livestreams scamming kids claiming people get "free Robux" if they join the group. So many fall for it 💀

I got scammed like this before back in April. So basically I got back home from school being a bit dumb and decided to have some fun trusting a obvious scam link to a Roblox private server and what happened when I got to the link. Asked me to log into my account on the site and I did get hacked. But thanks to my brain activating I got it back doing simple things. as a person who knows how to work with situations like these I got my account back the next morning and everything was fine they just stole 1k robux from me and played a game
i doubt the creator will see this but to ppl who will there’s a scam called a gfx scam, and it starts off kinda similar to this but it usually starts off in game, they (your potential hackers) say something along the lines of “i’m making a game and i want to add your avatar..” kinda similar to this if you follow through and talk some more to them, they’ll ask you to add them on Disc once you do they ask for your roblox gfx file, now for those who don’t know it’s basically a file that has information to everything on your account. and if you continue through and send it to them, you’re probably never getting your account back. this scam also bypasses two step verification

The funniest part about this scam for me, is I’m so technologically illiterate due to growing up on a farm without wifi for such a long time and then moving to Mexico, Panama, then back to the US where I was to busy to learn how to use computers, is I would get WAY to confused about the steps to take involving this, and would just give up before I even got to the website.
I did get scammed by this a few days ago.. though, I noticed that someone was in my account because of the age changing.. (2-step verification and emails from roblox) I immediately logged everyone else out of my account and I immediately went to change my password and changed the "parent's email" to my own email. I am so glad and relieved that I still have my account with me. Thanks for covering this, I think the only reason I fell for it is because I lack braincells 😭

Oh, yeah. I remember looking up those stupid videos on how to get free robux when i was younger. I actually ended up falling for the scam by typing in my user and password on a website, but somehow, I didn't get hacked, LOL. Thankfully, I've changed my user and password since then.

I was a victim to this group, I got my account back before they could do anything (i'm not THAT dumb) but in my case, i'm a roblox developer, and they were asking to "buy one of my roblox games" which led to me verifying in the server since they ask to talk in the server with them. Pretty sure everyone that is actually verified in there are bots.

One way to avoid this, is the general knowledge that Bloxlink is the main verification tool used to verify your account from Roblox to Discord, so if a server doesn't use Bloxlink, that's an instant red flag.

This whole scam can just be avoided if you use 2% of your brain and realize Roblox owns the rights to all avatar items, accessories, pretty much anything under their umbrella, which means you cannot by extension DMCA them over "your" avatar you do not actively own the rights too, sure you can use it and Roblox allows you to use said customization of course, but at the end of the day, you do not own those items, the people who made them via UGC? They made it sure, but once again, Roblox owns the full legal rights to said assets, so the scam template outright stating they can get "DMCA copyrighted" from you specifically is genuinely hilarious to me

this is insane. i took down a similar scam about a month ago. it was like a downgraded version of this. they got their victims into their server with a message offering Robux, limiteds, or real money to use the victims avatar as an npc in their game. in their discord server, the bots just sent the same messages on loop. it had the same rolinked thing, but instead of stealing your account, it attempted to buy a specific gamepass (that got deleted pretty quickly), created an API key, then advertised their scam. unexpectedly, the API key wasnt to steal your games or anything. they were using it to loop ban their victims' accounts, presumably by uploading innapropriate assets. very weird.

Every day i get scam messages. they usually either target devs or people with a lot of limited value. the downside of having 500k+ value on this crappy platform.
That’s sad, I feel really bad, these scammers HAVE NO LIFE! and that’s really why I don’t buy much with robux, usually a hat or two, maybe a face or hair.. I feel bad, because the behavior of these obvious adults is DISGUSTING. And I’m so done with scammers and hackers to the point that after my last online friend leaves me I’m quitting.

One major thing i learned over the years of being scammed, Never send code of ur inspect element and paste on to a website just because a youtube video says so "thats called cookie password stealing" 2. dont download anything that's too good to be true like copying roblox code or hacks for a roblox game, in order to hack you just need a executor and use trustworthy scripts not a download 3.Email roblox if your items get stolen i gotten my 80k worth of robux back from limiteds

@@hellocar123 They sell the accounts they steal which can actually bring so much money depending on how wealthy that account is, like does it have limited items, does it have so much robux, does it have an really rare item, ETC. all these things make the account either expensive or cheap depending on what it has, so if he manages to spot an account that is actually so expensive and sell it, they can get a lot of money from it

With such evidence just report their account to the Crime Complaint Center (IC3) and they should hopefully take care of him. With such large amounts of money being made off of this online scam he would most likely face some sort of real world punishment.
Probably another rabbit hole you could go down through is UA-cam shorts livestreams scamming kids claiming people get "free Robux" if they join the group. So many fall for it 💀

I got scammed like this before back in April. So basically I got back home from school being a bit dumb and decided to have some fun trusting a obvious scam link to a Roblox private server and what happened when I got to the link. Asked me to log into my account on the site and I did get hacked. But thanks to my brain activating I got it back doing simple things. as a person who knows how to work with situations like these I got my account back the next morning and everything was fine they just stole 1k robux from me and played a game
i doubt the creator will see this but to ppl who will there’s a scam called a gfx scam, and it starts off kinda similar to this but it usually starts off in game,
they (your potential hackers) say something along the lines of “i’m making a game and i want to add your avatar..” kinda similar to this
if you follow through and talk some more to them, they’ll ask you to add them on Disc
once you do they ask for your roblox gfx file, now for those who don’t know it’s basically a file that has information to everything on your account.
and if you continue through and send it to them, you’re probably never getting your account back. this scam also bypasses two step verification

The funniest part about this scam for me, is I’m so technologically illiterate due to growing up on a farm without wifi for such a long time and then moving to Mexico, Panama, then back to the US where I was to busy to learn how to use computers, is I would get WAY to confused about the steps to take involving this, and would just give up before I even got to the website.

I did get scammed by this a few days ago.. though, I noticed that someone was in my account because of the age changing.. (2-step verification and emails from roblox) I immediately logged everyone else out of my account and I immediately went to change my password and changed the "parent's email" to my own email. I am so glad and relieved that I still have my account with me. Thanks for covering this, I think the only reason I fell for it is because I lack braincells 😭
