Done similar with my pick up truck. Usually on sheds there are 4x4s on the bottom of the actual floor framing. I jacked the front up with my floor Jack high enough to wrap my chain around the 4x4s and looped it around my trailer hitch and boom! I’m gone! Worked great to move about 150 feet. Turned well and when to the area I wanted, re-jacked it, removed the chain, blocked the front. Then moved to the back and jacked it to level with front blocked it and done. No damage. Less than 10 minutes start to finish. Nice job man. You got it where ya wanted it!
I did it Google search how to move a shed with a snowplow and didn't find it, but I did find this channel. This is my exact idea how you are chaining it up. The only differences is I am going to connect the chains to my snowplow and try to lift the shed up and back the truck up pulling it. Like the skid plates good job.
This is awesome. I have a playhouse/shed that my husband built years ago and I want to move it to the front of our property. This is a way better idea. Thank you
Thanks for your great idea. Successfully moved my goat shelter by using this method. The pulling was a bit tough for my little lawn mower X350 but all works was done very well.
You just saved me from having to tare down a nice shed I need to move next door. Looks to be a very helpful & simple method . Probably do it this weekend with a rubber tire loader.. thinking it should do fine with 2’x6’ boards.. I’ll let you know how it works out! Thanks
My 12x20 (3000lb) shed sits on 15 3" metal pipes and I need to move shed to build a shop. My plan was to tear the shed down later to reuse the lumber for the new shop. I do have to remove all my belongings to make it as light as possible. I have a 12,000lb badlands winch I can use plus a few bottle jacks. I also have a small Kubota l2501 I can use. Thanks for the video.
Hmmm. I'm going to give it a shot. I was just about to go buy round fence post and do it Egyptian style. My barn is bigger, but so is my tractor. It's worth a try and I have all the stuff on the property for your method.
@@appalachiandiy2415 Just sat down from doing it. I chopped a steel bar in half and drilled the holes through the skids. My 34 hp tractor lifted the 12 X16 barn without difficulty. In low gear the shed slid across the ground like butter out of the woods. I parked it in front of my big permanent barn for a final cleaning before putting it up for sale. Thank you very much for your video. It saved me a few bucks and some unnecessary steps.
Wow Thats A lot of Shed. Maybe Pull it forward at a 45 degree angle then back at a 45. Try to "shimmy" it back and forth instead of against a 20 ft side
Oh my, this was exactly what I needed to see. Have an older 10x12 shed that needs moved about 50 yds in the next couple months to be repurposed as a chicken coop, but pretty hilly/rough ground in spots and tightish turns. Big tractor to use though. Did you ever get hung up? Your shed seemed to stand-up to being pulled and twisted on that slope. Nice video, thanks again! If I remember, I'll let ya know how it goes.
Update.. shed moved successfully and is now housing chickens. No issues with twisting or bowing of the frame, just took it slow. Honestly, I'm super surprised how smooth it all went. The "worst" part was rutting out some spots in the grass, no biggie. Thanks again for the idea.
Same Way. Dont tilt as high and run it like that. You could double the runner skid and it will wear away but not crazy fast. if you did it on wet pavement after it rained it would be even better.
@@tylerbrengle9652 interesting. I wouldn't have thought zero turns would even have a tow rating. I was surprised at how easily the shed slid. If your on a flat or slight down hill you might get away with the zero turn but might need your truck
I'm so glad I came across your video. Thanks for the tips and pointers. It's going to make a big job a lot easier

Always good to see a Kubota continue to be the little tractor that can!
Love that tractor 🚜
Moved my shed today this way thanks to your video. Thanks!

using an X350 is a good way to destroy an X350 transmission
@@xephael3485 Bet my X758 could do it. Different transmission tho

Awesome dude, This is just what I needed to see. I have a tractor and don’t need to move it far.
Bless you.
Nicely done on the move and making/shooting and posting the video. Thank you.

Great vid. I have to move my 12 x 24 and it has 4x6 skids under it. Also great music at the end of that video.
Any suggestions to move a 12x20 shed sideways? I only need to move to roughly 20 feet to make room for my garage build.

Same situation, I have bad slope, I'm worried the shed or tractor will topple over.

Great video! Do you want to move my shed? Lol
haha! if you lived down the street perhaps. How big of a shed are you moving?
What would you suggest on how to move the shed of the way you did it but on pavement a few blocks away
Same Way. Dont tilt as high and run it like that. You could double the runner skid and it will wear away but not crazy fast. if you did it on wet pavement after it rained it would be even better.
Yeah... but how did you turn it into place at the end there?!
Great video. Thanks!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
We should be able to move our shed with our 48hp tractor then
Thought about trying this with the truck.
Yea that will work just fine, not as maneuverable though
Step 1: Get your tractor... Clicks off video.
You can also use a riding lawn mower. Im pretty sure if you have a yard for a shed you have one of those. Use what you got.
@@appalachiandiy2415 I've got a zero turn but it's only rated at towing 300lbs. I can hook it up to the truck!

Lol. That’s great.
Lol get a tractor!
.y shed is at least 3 times that size. Still trying to figure out how to move it
I was hoping this was gonna be a way to take my shed down the highway, not across my yard
I need instructions for a miles-long move. I thought this one said it would also have long-distance options.
You look like you were just joy riding that shed
Now I just need to buy a tractor, lol.
Are you in WV?
PA
...but what if you don't have a tractor or access to one?!??
It pull pretty easy, a lawn tractor could prob do it as they are readily available, or your vehicle
That's the way I didn't know how to move tiny home a few feet
Great
I'm gonna try a 03 Jetta manual
Nice.
Thanks!
Hell yea bud
haha thanks!
same principles should work for 18 foot long, lets hope. just moving to other side of house near pool. guys want 450 plus here locally
I’m gonna do this with my 19x13
Wow, hope you got a big tractor!
Want to see how you installed it on a cliff edge
Put cement blocks on one side
Descent!
Thank you
I need to borrow your tractor please
haha, its easily one of the best investments we have made to help around our property
The easy way... Step one: Buy a tractor.
dont own a lawn tractor, or vehicle, or have a buddy with one?!
no rollers or pipes required.. just a fucking tractor.
Lemme borrow dat dar tractor bub.
No Rollers or Pipe Required. Just a tractor. 😅
So if you don’t have a tractor you can’t do this.
Absolutely not, it pulls very easy. you could easily pull with a lawn tractor, truck or about 4 big guys(if you dont have to go crazy far)
"The easy way!"
Let me just buy a tractor so I can move it.
Heck , i think 2 strong girls can just lift that thing and carry it up on a trailer 😅
omg the UA-cam commercial are pathetic.
Yeah but you shed is elevated. Most sheds are on the ground lol
that should not make a difference. they should slide all the same
And he uses a tractor. Wtf
"Long distanes" my arse. The video is good for moving FEET with a garden tractor, not hundreds of miles. New DESCRIPTIVE title please.
