As a year 10 student who's really struggling with distributing my revision evenly, this is really inspiring. I am also Muslim and fasting has made it harder for me but this has really given me an insight into more productive ways to get my work done. All the best with your exams and inshallah you will get all 9s!! ( if you have any advice for me it would be so so appreciated!!)
Just got my 2nd mocks back, and it's safe to say I got 7s 8s and 9s in everything. Inshaallah it's the same for the real exam!

guys when revising the best thing to do for French speaking is for each questions do not memorise your answer you have to understand them because you could get a question that's not related to your speaking question but u just have to apply the knowledge from other speaking prompt. So I think the best way to revise French is understanding the vocabs tenses and the questions remember the questions is one of the most important if u dont understand the question u cant answer it. Do what I did was for each questions I wrote the keywords for example the tenseswhat theme for example work experience which is school theme from my understanding I just answer it rather than memorizing the conversation prompt and this helped me get a good grade in my mock. I just went through the conversation prompt, for each question memorize what I was going to say in ENGLISH NOT FRENCH,and used my brain to reevaluate it in French because what catches most people off is you r asked a question that not in your conversation prompt however similar but u spend time remembering the question and what u have memorized

ive already done my speaking exam and one tip i would give is just to stay calm and breathe before the exam and as long as u have revised u will be fine
My speaking exam is on 4th of May and my Devising piece for Drama is on Tuesday. I'm nervous for both, but I'm mostly nervous for science because I moved from foundation to higher tier. I know most of the content luckily but I've been teaching myself mostly through CGP, Cognito and quizlet flashcards. hoping I'll do well.

@abdullahkhan I do French & Spanish (AQA H) and I’ve got my Spanish on the morning of the 3rd of may and french the afternoon of the 5th of may. For french I have 47 Q’s to memorise and Spanish 33 (departments very dodgy at my school) but we were told that within are answers state a subjunctive, idiom, etc. I’m choosing Theme 3 (GC) for both because I’ve been able to link lots of idioms within the questions for both languages. My teachers say Theme 2 as most say it’s the weakest theme and if we choose it as part of our conversation then it would be easier but even if I got it for a photo card I wouldn’t find it that bad especially in my french mock I got a photo card about theme 2 and I got 12 (2nd unprepared q I ran out of time and didn’t understand) regardless I am confident and in my speaking mocks I was 2 marks of a 9 in french and 4 in Spanish so I think im solidly on an 8 (rlly want a 9). What theme are you choosing?
I'm doing french and I feel 50/50 as well 😅 for my speaking, I'm just practicing spontaneously without writing much down except key subjunctive phrases that I can tweak, as well as idioms. For my mock I pretty much bombed the speaking, I misunderstood the roleplay and froze on my general conversation but I still managed 46/60 so ik it won't be as disastrous!

heyy, i used to get 6s and 7s and then switched to consistent 9s. The key thing I changed was amount of explanation. Every time you make an inference, make another inference and keep asking yourself why that is. Basically explain really in detail.
@@sibilansnel could you give an example? Like an analysis you’d do before and analysis you’d do now
for me quoting back often bumped me up to a grade 9 and also heavily consider analysis and understanding when planning

For french I've done the photocard and the conversation themes, I just need to memorise them. I've always had a problem understanding French, but I never really took it as a priority, so during the end of Term 2 break I spent a lot of time studying french and I'm a lot more confident in it and don't find it as hard. But for the speaking, it just comes down to memorisation at this point. (Mine is on April 27)

i just did a french speaking mock before the holidays and got like at least 45/60 which is ok but i was so bad with the photocard so i neeedd to make sure i know my vocab but i still have like over 1000 words on memrise😭 but my school still haven’t told us when our exam is🥲 but i think it’ll be ok hopefully
How do you get 8s and 9s in English since I’m not naturally strong I it and I find it hard to understand things im very strong at maths hitting 9s
I do Spanish for gcses. This time i got a 3 on the mocks but last time i got a 2. For the speaking exam i got a theme 1, 2 and 3 booklet. I translate the questions into English and answer them in Spanish then i try to memorise all of it. I was supposed to fast but i can’t because my mom said it’s better not to since my gcses are coming and my brain needs to function. For science i complete the go formative homework and do exam questions but i’m not sure when exact topics are on paper 1 and 2. For English i try to do essay plans but i end up taking long. I am concerned if i won’t get a grade 4 on anything because last time i didn’t get a 4 on anything.

I'm not doing French for my exams because we don't study this language in school but I've started learning it when I was 14. Now it has been a year and I'm happy to say that I improved a lot than before and I can also speak French if I need to communicate with people therefore, I am able to have a conversation with a friend in school who is from France so she's French. I have studied and learnt 3 romantic languages and now I am will be able to use this language whenever I want, so in total that would be 5 languages that I can speak.
Je fais pas le français pour mes examens parce qu'on etudie pas cette langue au college mais je commencé à l’apprendre quand j'avais 14 ans. Maintenant ça fait un ans et je suis heureuse de dire que j'ai amélioré beaucoup qu'avant et je peux aussi parler français si j’ai besoin de communiquer avec les gens donc, je peux avoir une conversation avec une amie à l'école qui est venue de France alors elle est Française. J'avais étudié et appris 3 langues romantiques et maintenant je pourrais utiliser cette langue quand je veux donc en total ça serait 5 langues que je peux parler.

En réalité je suis tellement paresseuse pour essayer de pratiquer mon français je préfère juste apprendre cette langue dans une façon plus naturelle et c’est à cause de ça que j’ai besoin d’améliorer un peu plus qu’avant. Je sais pas si je dois étudier la grammaire plus ou une autre chose mais j’espère que tout ira bien 😌. Moi aussi je l’adore!

I would say too use some interesting language or say something different from the usual style that people tell you to say in
Hi bro, since you had a story planned for english language, did it give you more time for the other questions?
You could say so but that extra time was not intentional as in I spent way too long on Q1-4 and then had less time on Q5 (luckily I had pre-planned it)

I would recommend downloading analysis online or buying a CGP because either one will give you a set amount of things to learn (form, structure, feelings & attitudes)

No I sleep at 5:30 but my sehri e.g yesterday finished at 4:05

its even harder for me to revise duirng ramadan as we still have to attend a full 9am-2pm school day and be very tired going home to study, and after taraweh i cant do much as i already get too sleepy and cant stay up late

Asslammu Alikum I heard from someone that gcse is not hard at all as compared to O level Cambridge ?.. bcz I am doing o level cambridge and it is actually tricky ??
W.A.S I was previosly doing o levels in pakistan and moved uk in yr 11 to do gcses, over here i would say the only subject which is different from o level is english.. o level english is way easier compared to gcses but other than that the rest is the same standard...

Try to plan your day. I recommend trying to revise 2/3 hours a day.b Maybe try to get up early in the morning to revise then once you completed your revision, you can have the rest of the day to yourself and do your own stuff.
