"Metal is very heavy" -Krimh, 2021
I wish more drummers did this kind of video. Really interesting! Cheers.
I love these types of videos!
Yeet Feet yes! Same here.
Me too, it`s way comfortable than watching actual lessons that i have to then practice.
you can also put some clothes inside the snare :)
Yes that’s another way of packing your clothes. You have to watch the overall weight.
@@KRIMHDrummer unless they're sweaty from playing a show...then it's pretty much leaching SALT WATER inside your drum!
@@joew717 i would only do that for the travel to get to the tour and afterwards you drive around with the bus anyways. But for sure it’s a bad idea to throw wet stage clothes in your snare!
He could pack himself also 😂
That kit is more organized than my life.
🙄
I haven't been on tour in so long, I never thought I'd get so much pleasure watching someone else pack for tour
Adidas are a must for Krimh and his power! 🤘🥁
Hey from Australia brother ... Loved the video , i will definitely be stacking stuff inside my cymbal case from now on ... Great tips ....
Around 2012 in Germany, Leipzig/Halle airport, the person working at the security called the guards because I placed my hihat stand inside something and they accused me of trying to hide some “weird metal object”. 😂😂😂 and they also made me empty my seccond backpack that I meticulously packed to fit everything in it, because of a drum key... A DRUM KEY! Because again, “it’s hidden inside of many things and it’s a metal object.” 😂😂😂
Sounds way too familiar
My band's drummer was stopped at Kyiv Zhuliany airport for the double bass pedal shaft, carefully packed in lots of clothes whatsoever. Luckily, I'm a frequent flyer and I knew the ICAO directive by which that security representative could go breathe outside :D
@@PerkeleKeyboardist they will always look for something. They never like my small mic in my hand luggage. Somehow it looks like a pistol for them. Don’t ask me why...
@@KRIMHDrummer yeah, we all know it's a theater. Although, funny moments also happen. The other time, the same airport, a security lady didn't understand two IEM receivers in my backpack and asked other guy to take a look, and he turned out to be a hobby musician, so he completely forgot about his work and had like a dozen of questions about playing with IEMs :D
That day was traumatizing! I was 20 I think. I didn’t speak German and she was pretending she didn’t speak English in the very beginning.
Krimh i know all your story how you start on the drum and i am like you now because i don't have a studio and many to by a drum BUT THE DRUM IS MY DREAM AND I NEVER STOP FOLLOW MY DREAM BIG FUN AND SO MUCH RESPECT FOR YOU AND LOVE KEEP ROCKING MAN ❤️🤟🥁💨
I just love these kind of videos! Lot of people have no idea how diffucult is to pack your stuff as a drummer! :D
Oh yes! It’s science to pack it correct
Awesome to see this! I kinda missed you weighing each case when you were done packing, especially because you pointed out its importance.
True, should have done that! sorry
This is an epic video. Very well made man
Thanks for sharing man, fascinating to see travel from your perspective. Looking forward to gigs coming back on the schedule..
Very awesome this type of tip! Thanks Krimh! 🤘🏻🦁🇧🇷👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This video could not have come at a better time! Great job :D
Loved this vid .... you will be in high demand after this!!
The idea of putting things in your shoes then putting the shoes themselves into the cymbal case is genius!
Excellent video - as a drummer myself i agree with every space must be filled! Playing 'festival' kits can be a nightmare!!
Now this video might be handy one day hehe
Brilliant Video, thanks for uploading. KRIMH, The King of utilising space. 😎👊
Awesome video man, thank you!!
Great video Krimh
Ahh! I wanted to see how do you fold your clothes! I'm still impressed how well organised you are Mr. Mirek :)
Very proffesional, awesome vid
Great! Thanks for sharing!
Really interesting to see how you pack everything, each centimeter counts !!
This actually so helpful!! I’ve been thinking about using a pelican for pedals and snare but wasn’t sure with the hard cases for each of them. Thank you so much!
Thanks man, very useful video!!
Great advice on the cymbal case with all the extra things. I never really thought about why some drummers don't give out sticks as much as others, so this makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the cool video and a small look inside your personal life as a musician on the road.
Take it easy and try and stay safe out there buddy live shows are coming soon I hope 🤘🤘
Fantastic video man.
I love that battery, the whole kit, and you too 😁
I'd love to see the actual list too :) great video!
Goodness you poor dear. Looks like you have everything but the kitchen sink.🥺 I really enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a fantastic day!🌹
fantastic video!!
You are very talented Krimh
watched the video and it answered my question thanks for the info !
Very useful! I will definitely use your tips on filling empty space in cases. And yes, it's time for another pair of shoes on the road! I should have thought of that before taking stinky shoes on the bus 😅
Thanks for this video ! Very usefull 🙏🙏
I believe Pat Torpey talked about the baby powder tip in his "Big Drum" instructional video. Great video tho.
yay I love this kind of video
Damn, that's perfectly packed dude. I'm also a bit perfectionist when packing my gear. I'm sure this video will help me someday :D
very helpful, thanks a lot!!
Great video man, I remember your tetris car packing after SF show at Gothoom fest in Slovakia :)
Hahaha this was legit Tetris
Thank you for sharing that knowledge based on huge experience! Definitely once we start touring with aircraft, all things should be planned much more careful instead of touring with bus
Thats cool, thanks for sharing :)
Beautiful sight, those cymbals are and the austrian lad is nice too. 😂
very good video!
I always wanted to see how you guys pack for tours or festivals.. and i got the answer... very entertaining. Not gonna lie.
Hii Krimh.... regards from Bali...🤘
Good 👍👍...I'm do the same when I starting to a tour...I try to found al hole to push al what me need...but when I can give you one tip try to found place for more sticks, because fan's it's always happy tho take a sticks a have a remember from you and from the show... I'm for example take always whit me old drumheads, after show I'm do my signature and present this, you don't can imagine how happy the fan's and maybe remember you and your band always when looks the wool where the skin with your signature hangs 😉😉
Cymbals, pedals and sticks!
What a great video. Copy paste this for my tour, thanks Krimh.
If you go cymbal-lite.. I have a feeling you can get away with Peli air case + cymbals if you use only 20" (at most 21") cymbal case. You can go ride/crash/crash (9kg)... hi-hats in the peli case.. and get the cymbals onto overhead luggage (max 21 inches in overhead).
I love septicflesh and love you krimh
Thank you
Wow so the baby powder thing I have actually been doing as well.l.but not with baby poweder. One time I was playing a little “show” for some friends in a basement where people were smoking, drinking, etc etc. I was still a smoker myself at the time and used to smoke whilst playing... anyways I was having issues with my left foot sticking to my slave pedal of my demon drives for a good while and was getting frustrated as all hell, but at one point I took my foot off the pedal and accidentally stepped on a bunch of fresh ashes that had fallen off my cigarette and when I went to play with my left foot again it literally slipped all the way off the other side of the pedal and was almost TOO slippery! From then on anytime I had issues with my shoes being sticky I would just purposely step on a bit of cigarette ash and then my feet would be FLYING hahahah! I guess it works the same way as the baby powder!
This story sounds very familiar to me. During my first practice sessions with Decapitated I had very sticky shoes and it was really difficult to control the swivel technique. So I stepped down on the carpet which was really dusty and dirty. This dirt gave the perfect slippery surface so I figured I could use a different kind of fine material which simulates this effect. That’s how I came up with baby powder.
Great to see others have similar experiences. ;)
Magnifico.💰💰💰💰💰💰
Could you tell us what sticks you are using on tour ?
The next time I'll see SF on tour, i will change one of your after show stick for a brand new kit.
Even if I can't get one, I'll be proud to know you will probably play with a kit I brought to you few days ago.
:) Adidas Special! I have never seen you in different pair of shoes :). And we've met long time ago :)
Pat torpey already used the baby powder like 30 years ago 😉
Oh I think I saw those Adidas shoes at the merch stand at some point 😁
Love this video. What about one on the pieces you'll rent for the show ? (Provider, process, ...) and also, in what situation afe you going to share a drumkit and how do you adapt to the drumkit of somebody else for example ?
@krimh drummer. You probably already know this but if you run out of baby powder just take a spare sock and put it on over your shoes. Works to keep it nice and slippery...also ideal if your hiking up a frozen mountain and don't have she spikes.
yeahh the best this type video
It was the baby powder all along!! :P
Sheremetyevo stickers founded!)
WOW truly interesting vlog, Krimh. Never saw something like this before. I knew the vast majority of drummers simply can't take with them the entire drums set with them while touring, but i wonder if the parts you find in tour and festivals are quite good enough to simply forget about it...or you'r a little pissed cuz you feel the quality is, i dont wanna say lower....just not high enough as you and the band expected. Also......for the live with orchestra in Mexico, you had the possibility to bring there your personal drums or it was just like any tour with just some parts from your drumkit ??
we need tours back
being a lefty the tom clamp is number one for me ,hate the toms attached to the bass drum
I hate them as a righty so i can only imagine what a leftie has to endure ahahaha
I also don’t like it and I agree this clamp has priority
Babypowder for the pedal is recommended by Dave Weckl in one of his old -80s videos 😎👍
Oh I didn’t know! That’s cool :)
Master of tetris haha 👍🏻
08.35 I but between cymbals ruberpage or foam eartrops (in palstic bag ) to avoid scratches.
Here is a small bit of advice, you can use semi-inflated balloons with helium in your bags it'll help with taking some of the weight off and you can use it as packing material so things don't shift and get broken. I hope this helps a little bit maybe you can use this on a future plane trip 👍👍
Total bullshit, every liter of helium has a lifting force of one gram.
Everyone curious bout your playing/setup...
... I'm just curious what kind of hair care products you use. Your hair is glorious man!
Btw, love how your "drumming shoes" are some dope ass ADIDAS.
Saubere Sach !
Hi! Can you tell me the model of that skb cymbal case? I’m considering one but they usually claim that it holds up to 7 cymbals only. Sometimes I really need more.
Awesome video btw! 🙂
SKB CV8
Man, tell about the equipment, what it is, how do you connect it (audio card, laptop), what software, what samples. How is it all set up. There is simply no such material from a touring musician, and this, as I have already seen many times, is a very important aspect of the tour and every time there is something new / something wrong ...
Smart af
Tama and meinl always seem to be a combination a lot of drummers use im a pearl and paiste kind of guy
I was waiting for you to weight the cymbal case? what did it weight?
if you stay ready, you don’t have to get ready!!!
the electronic goes with the clothes on the back bag?
The Pelican Air is genious! What model og Pelican is that?!
Peli 1615
@@KRIMHDrummer Perfect, Thanks man!
hey krimh! question! why do you use the DecaBox system? Since there are other more compact dmx interfaces, why do you use this one specifically?
greetings from Mexico!
Simply because its the first one we found and it’s exactly what we needed + it works without issues.
Is this case the peli_1535_air_carry_on_no_foam you can find on thomman? Im looking to buy one for the pedals and snare just like u did on this video. If you could give me the exact model I'd very much apreciate it, because I will be ordering online and can't try to fit them in the case before I buy it. Thanks!!
No it’s not a carry on luggage as it is too big. It’s the 1615 peli air case
Perhaps a silly question, but if you don’t take your kit, who’s kit do you play on? How can you be confident it will be of a good standard?
A band name would be a good idea
I would like to know the model of that pelican case please.
a bag for elettronics ? triggers?
tama says you are an artist of their drums so how many times do you play on "foreign"drums on tour?
Like!!!!
Where are the timpani? I usually try to get them as carry on but they don’t ever fit in that box..
Do you use something to protect your packs at the airport to not to be opened up or steal from it?
To be honest no because it happens very often that security needs to open it anyways. So if I lock it they gonna break the lock or the zip ties.
@@KRIMHDrummer Thanks for the answer!😉
Amazing information since not everyone can be like Mike Portnoy and have identical drum kits made and put in storage units across the US, Europe, and Asia 😂😂
Oh to be that blessed one day.....😂
Haha yeah…that won’t happen 😅
When I try to fit everything into a small ladies' handbag: it's a little bit like playing Tetris
what drums do you play on if you dont bring it yourself?
Hey, what Size is that peli case?
Krimh please make a drum cover of the new Gojira’s song “Born for one thing”
You are in this pain, because you didn't want to be a guitar player, very good video.
kkk 👍🏻
Haha yes !
