I'd love to read a thesis on the formation of a mosh pit. The first 2 minutes was beautiful. Watching everyone analysing who wants in and who wants to watch the band, the shove, the push back, then setting the floor space and the boundary riders happy to be rubber bollards to push the moshers back in. Followed by the obligatory greetings, hugs and note of appreciations at the end of the song.

Well lucky you, I don't do live vocals anymore. This deep into the tour my voice was pretty shot so I tended to go high to preserve what I could. It doesn't sound great, agreed. As for the rest of the seriously talented band that writes some sick riffage, I'm the one that writes that riffage.
i dabble in a little black metal, but like most every hardcore genre fan their fans really suck. they think unless its not black metal or if their facebook page has more than a thousand fans, its not metal and it sucks. its a great song, even if you like black metal.
I personally do not like black metal. I do personally consider it's messages are dull. YET, I also consider that any person in this world has the right to create, listen and express what they want, neverminding if anybody else likes it or not as long as their forms of expression are not oppressive or intolerant. The trouble with blck metal is that SOME of the bands and listeners are very intolerant. Yet so are Axl Rose and Dave Mustaine. What it should be clear is that we are all metal. PERIOD.

I think black metal in general is better than thrash. Besides the entry-level stuff, and some exceptions such as Vektor, thrash is generic as hell. Most people who say black metal sucks haven't listened to anything past the entry-level material and have't given it the time and investment it requires. I too hated black metal, but now that I am more well-versed I realize it's an acquired taste. Give it a chance. (I know the song is a joke, this is for the kiddies that do say black metal sucks)
Yeah, there is definitely a lot of generic black metal bands, and the same goes for bands of any genre. I just find that the ratio of generic to non-generic thrash bands is much bigger than that of any other genre. I do enjoy the music, and I do realize that most thrash bands don't take themselves too seriously, but if you're just going to be another retro-thrash/thrash revival Exodus clone, what's the point in even making music? There aren't enough bands that experiment, it's a damn shame.
