I can not emphasize it enough. If you live in a bigger city look around in second-hand market. In that kind of price bracket, there is a chance you will find tons of completes with full cromo frame, fork, cranks. If you are lucky you might pick up even something really decent labelled as "child's bike, rarely used". When you don't like it you just pass it on for the same price, if you like it, you already have a nice bike for learning tricks.

I have stripped out some handle bars and bent some rims and fucked up some .mag wheelsThe sealed bearings the greatest idea since the wheel was invented. Cromoly has been around for awhile tho gt, haro, redline etc.The heat treating is a newer process tho.
Not gonna lie and no offense to these bikes but for the kush at 350 I would just go spend twenty extra for a Sunday primer that’s a very solid bike or a fit bike for about 370 if your willing to spend a little more

Unsealed hubs just have to be cleaned and regreased not replaced. Maybe the bearings. If you go loose ball not caged it will cost like $2

Elite Stealth has been upgraded to ABB 3 p crank, double wall 9t wheels, sealed bearings and alloy top load stem as of 2024 at the same price point.

I would say so! As long as you're in the height range for it, should be a good bike for cruising.
