Why rush is the greatest band of all times .If u listen to Led Zeppelin The Who Van Halen all the top bands .Their music never evolved their first album sounds like the last album that’s what makes Rush the greatest baby of all times .Not every album is a masterpiece but u can see it’s not repetitive
Basically you can listen to any Rush songs and you will be taken on a journey. They really are musical artists. They paint pictures with word and music. Rush 2112 is the best place to start.
PLEASE react to more Rush. They are one of the greatest bands of all time. I got deeply into them in junior high around the time that Hemispheres and 2112 came out, and then I saw them twice in high school during the late 70s and they absolutely rocked. It's just three people but it's incredible. They all multitask like crazy. And they totally know how to rock but they create these beautiful moments too and it was so packed in a small arena and it was so good. I bet you would absolutely love 2112, which is side A of the 2112 album. I have seen several people react to it, it's long because it's the whole first side of the album, but it's made of five or six or seven parts, and there is a lyrical comic version as far as the video put over the studio cut, Which is popular to react to, but either way, it's an absolute masterpiece. And the five songs on side B the album are each really amazing as well. 2112 is such a great story, and it really gives you the range of their abilities at that time. And the backstory on the album is amazing as well, because they were so hard and so progressive that the record company was getting upset with them and basically said, okay we'll give you money to do one more album, but if you don't start doing more mainstream stuff, we're dropping you. And they basically flipped the label a huge finger and spent the money to produce the revolutionary masterpiece that is the album 2112 in the mid-70s, and ironically, it was right around that time that their popularity super exploded. I love a ton of their albums but 2112 still remains my absolute favorite. And I have watched watched several reactions where the reactor was a bit dubious about tackling something so long, but then you can see them just get sucked immediately into it, fall in love with it, and they keep realizing over and over again as it goes on how many layers there are, and how many tricks they have up their sleeves, and how incredible this is.
Neil Peart is the drummer, gone now but never forgotten. He's commonly viewed as one of the greatest drummers of all time, and his influence on other drummers is immeasurable.
Quite simply three geniuses at the peak of their creativity and masters of their art. You really need to watch/ hear "Xanadu " off of their " Exit Stage Left" live album.......it will mesmerise you..
I'm from Canada I've seen them many times incredible live starting in the 70s they are musicians musicians next level talent. Geddy also plays the bass may be the best ever the live shows really show the quality of this trio. Great reaction thank you.
I can’t believe she forgot the bass. When asked what he considered to be the ultimate Rush song, Getty said Tom Sawyer, because whoever that was playing bass nailed it!
Proves you can create a chant for an instrumental. One of the best live performances I have ever seen... and I have played music for over 40 years myself.
Them: You can't sing along to an instrumental. Brazilian Rush Fans: Hold my cerveja. As a Canadian that has visited Brazil, I can absolutely attest to the fact that Brazilian Rush fans are second only to Canadian Rush fans.
Neil Peart in a Canadian interview made it clear that he never took for granted playing Tom Sawyer as it always was a challenge to play this song correctly full of time changes, fils, triplets, and full force. I watched 42 Rush concerts and it was so worth the memories.
If you enjoyed Tom Sawyer, watch Xanadu, live from Exit Stage Left tour 1981. I saw this tour. This song is epic and is definitely a must for a new RUSH fan. We old fans (lol) love it as well. ENJOY !
Welcome to Rush! I am a new fan myself; I knew of them but only knew this song and one other. I saw this music video for 'Subdivisions' and became a fan. It's amazing that only 3 guys produce all of that sound! Here are some facts about Rush: The singer/bass player/keyboard player, Geddy Lee, and the guitarist, Alex Lifeson, first met at age 13 and have been best friends ever since. When Rush's first album came out in 1974, they had a different drummer, John Rutsey, who left the band shortly after that. That same year, Neil Peart joined Rush, and all 3 of them became close friends throughout their whole career. Geddy and Alex noticed that Neil liked to read and asked him if he wanted to write the lyrics. He agreed, and Rush became known for Neil's deep lyrics as well as his amazing percussion skills. Geddy Lee is considered one of the best rock bassists of all time, and it's fun to watch him multitask onstage while playing bass, singing, playing keyboards, and playing foot pedals for synth sounds when he's playing the bass. Alex is usually overlooked among the great guitar players by the rock music press, which I feel is unfair, because Alex is like a magician on the guitar. He creates some of the most beautiful and emotive solos I've ever heard. Sadly, Neil Peart retired from Rush in 2015 and died of brain cancer in 2020. For a future reaction, I suggest checking out Rush live in concert! One of my favorite live performances is 'Between the Wheels' live from the R30 tour in Germany.
I grew up in a town outside Toronto and they lived in the next town and we were playing in the park and heard music coming from the factories and we climbed on the dumpsters to watch in the window and saw them rocking out making the most impressive music we had ever heard. They saw us and came out and talked to us about hockey ( cause that's what we Canadians do 😂) and we talked about the music they were recording and their cars. Geddy and Alex gave us guitar picks and Neil gave us drumsticks they were so down to earth and humble to have a half hour conversation with a couple of kids. I saw them live twice once in 88 and then in 03 in front of 500,000 crazy Canadians at the SARS relief concert in Toronto. They were freaking fire live. Great reaction and Peace out ✌️ ☮️ 🙏
That had to be such an awesome experience! I'm american (St. Louis), but I have always loved hockey and Rush too! I never got to meet them, but I did get to meet Garry Unger when I was a teen. He had just won the MVP at the NHL all-star game and I was star struck.🤩 He was so cool and friendly. I couldn't believe he was taking the time to talk to some random peon like me. I even said, as he was walking away, "Thanks for talking to me!". 😂 He just smiled and gave me a thumbs up. 👍 I've always been impressed with you Canadians ever since. 🇨🇦 🫡
Geddy Lee is the lead vocalist, Bass player and Keyboardist. He and guitarist Alex Liefson met in school when they were 13 or 14 yrs old. After their first album they parted was with the 1st drummer and Neil Peart Joined the band as the drummer and lyrist. They hold the record as the 2nd longest band without a line-up change at 41 yrs. 1st is held by the Rolling Stones at 60+ yrs.
I come to your channel via Rush… Thanks, I first listened to Rush in 1976 and have followed them ever since. I saw them 17x in concert including their final tour in 2015… I’m a life long drummer and had a chance to meet my hero, Drummer/ Lyricist Neil Peart in a breakfast joint in Rochester NY… I liked and sub in hopes you do in fact react to more Rush. BTW: Great reaction and review. R.I.P. Neil Peart and long live the mighty Rush 👊🏻
I first "saw" Rush in 1975 when they opened up for The Charlie Daniels Band it was a free concert in Forest Park in St.Louis I wasn't able to see much of of the show but I wasn't the only one, there were an estimated 75,000 people there. The show was sponsored by KSHE-95, one of, if not the oldest rock stations in the world, now in their 57th year. K-SHE 95 played a small but important role in Rush's success, Rush was not getting a lot of radio air play except in St.Louis, KSHE-95 was using their 2112 Overture as their intro to their music news and concert updates so as a result K-SHE was getting a lot of requests for the song and K-SHE heavily promoted Rush on their station, Geddy Lee's first live radio interview was with K-SHE to promote their 1976 tour and featured Rush on their 7th day where every Sunday from 6-midnight they play complete albums, which they still do to this day, so for that Sunday they played all of Rush's albums from start to finish.
Rush was one of the only bands I'd pay to see. Saw them over a dozen times. Incredible musicians, like no other. Also, you are beautiful. Keep being you!
Rush 'girl' fan percentage has risen to an amazing 17% in recent times! JK I don't know those facts and I"m too lazy to find out. That's my uneducated guess, though. A lot of old Rush fans have died off, unfortunately.
Neil Peart (lyricist) and GOAT drummer. If this is your introduction to Rush, you have opened a wonderful can of worms as they have a library of great songs - in fact too many to list here. I encourage you to explore their catalogue of great music- and would love to join you on the journey. Love your enthusiasm. Great reaction- Thanks!
Hi Ola! Rush is awesome! I'm glad u mentioned Alex! Not a lot of people mention him when talking about Rush. Then of course u have Geddy & Neil, one of the best drummers ever! More Rush songs: Spirit Of Radio, Freewill, Limelight, Subdivisions, Red Barchetta, Working Man, YYZ, Fly By Night, Closer To The Heart, 2112, La Villa Strangiato, Xanadu

Back in the early 70's I was a bouncer at a local bar where I lived in Canada Went to work one evening and couldn't get in the front door, it was so packed with people! Managed to get the attention of one of the waitresses and asked, what the heck is going on!!!?? She replied not sure but some band called Rush was playing tonight 😅
The greatest power trio and best live band ever, three musical savants from Toronto blessing the world with 40+ years of virtuosity. For your next reaction try Xanadu from Exit Stage Left. Subbed for more Rush. 😊🇨🇦
Welcome to Rush! Three master musicians from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 who had a 40 plus year career. I will suggest Xanadu from the Exit Stage Left live in Montreal YYZ live in Rio Digital Man from the Snakes and Arrows tour Cheera

“The drummer is insane.” Yes, yes he is, may he rest in peace. You have now been introduced to The Professor, Neal Peart. It is often said that, “He’s your favorite drummer’s favorite drummer.” He was THAT great. If you’re up for it, check out “Neal Peart drum solo - Live in Frankfurt” here on UA-cam. Would really enjoy seeing you react to it. Great react here to Tom Sawyer. I was fortunate to see the in concert in the early ‘80s, as a teen. Infrickingcredible!!! Warm wishes set your way, Your newest sub - 🥰
The drummers'' last name souds like Peert, (Pee-rt_) . I am glad you understood what you heard. You have a wonderful jeourny of musical magic ahead of you!
I am Canadian so I'm very partial to rush. I do love power trios. For another Great Canadian power Trio check out Triumph. Follow Your Heart by Triumph is a great Anthem rock song. check that out I'm sure you will enjoy it.
Active from 1968 UNTIL 2015. Their first commercial studio album came out in 1974, the same year they replaced the original drummer with the one seen in the video. The original drummer quit before they found "the new guy," so the replacement was not a situation where they were looking for a new drummer. But, the new drummer (Neil Peart: P-ear-t) did happen to be slightly* better than the original, John Rutsey. Their discography includes 19 studio albums of original music, 1 cover album of classic 60's rock and numerous live albums, best of/greatest hits, etc. Their total discography of original music includes 178 songs, IIRC. The last album was released in 2012 but they toured live until 2015 for their 40th anniversary that they actually consider 1974-2015, instead of '68, because Neil became their permanent drummer and first album release occurred that year (though more about Neil than about their first album I suspect). Inducted into the Rock & Roll hall of fame in 2013, introduced by Dave Grohl and Talor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters (obviously Rush's biggest fans besides me), and third in the world, behind only The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the number of consecutive Gold and Platinum albums. IIRC, around 40,000,000 albums sold to date. *That's an inside joke that you will understand if you continue down the Rush rabbit hole. PS-you said that you knew Rush's song 'The Trees' because you played with your band, but have you ever actually heard Rush's original recording or live recording of the song? If NO, then that should probably be the next song you should react to.
You are going into a vast rabbit hole....enjoy the journey....I've been a Rush fan since the late 70s... Geddy(Bassist/Keyboards/Vocalist)Alex(Lead guitars)Neil(Drummer - RIP😕).... any song you pick next will be awesome but my personal faves are. Subdivisions The Spirit of Radio YYZ ❤
Hello Olavity, I too enjoy the song: The Trees. You definitely need to go down the Rush rabbit hole. Btw - the drummer Neil Peart is ranked in the top 3 best drummers of all time I believe. He’s my 2nd favorite drummer.

Great reaction, Cutie pie!
Great song! Another Rush banger is "Working Man", one of my favorites!
Okay, fine. I spoke too soon. For a first time listener, you understood much more than I did back at that time. Well done.
More Rush please
Great reaction. I'd like to suggest "Spirit of Radio" live at the Toronto Sars concert 2003

Hello Olavity,
I too enjoy the song: The Trees. You definitely need to go down the Rush rabbit hole. Btw - the drummer Neil Peart is ranked in the top 3 best drummers of all time I believe. He’s my 2nd favorite drummer.
