I'm currently working on a hexi square cardigan, holding together a warm toned chocolate and a cooler toned chocolate DK yarns, it's making a lovely fabric up.
@@morganunraveled I wanted to use the marled yarn that you used in your August sweater but I wasn't paying shipping from Australia, had to get creative 😂
I just finished my first sweater yesterday. It's knit in fingering weight held with kid silk lace weight. It's so pretty. Love your cumulus, its so beautiful ❤
this was such a fun vlog to watch! your sweater is so gorgeous. i love the color! i’ve been working on my obsidian sweater by the wool barrow :) just cast it on yesterday
I recognize that song! Fire & ice is my intro 😂😂 So jealous of your knitting friends. I wish I had in-person ones to meet but I have plenty of online video chat friends Cumulus looks lovely
Oh and for your original cumulus, I would only finish if you are confident you will wear it. You already seem like you aren’t totally into it so maybe better to make something else with that yarn?
it’s a good one! gotta love the creator library ahaha 😂 I totally resonate with that, internet friends is what I’ve had the majority of my life so far! I’m glad you have video chat friends but hope you can find an irl knitting friend 💗 thank you!!
Your Cumulus blouse looks beautiful 😍 In future when you running low of yarn weight it and divide equally between sleeves or other parts of the garment it always works out for me 😊
we finally just got a kitchen scale since the move abroad so I can actually weigh my yarns again hahaha! the only tricky thing is I don’t really know the % required by sleeves vs body. if I had known I would’ve shortened the sleeves just a tad to give me a bit more body! I did go ahead and do the sleeves so I could use whatever was left on the body but it wasn’t much!
that unfinished cumulus blouse would be soooo cute as a short sleeve cropped tee!! maybe if you are still set on frogging it, you could frog it and use the yarn to make a version you’re more pleased with??
I completely agree! I will try to make it work as is but if I can’t I will definitely use the yarn for a summer tee but probably size down to have more length!
it’s so cozy!! I feel like it’s probably not the softest mohair in the world but it was my first time working with mohair so I was in awe the whole time and I love wearing it 💗
I would try to block what you have of the cotton cumulus to see if it evens out your stitches. I'm definitely with you on long purl rows as I'm knitting a shawl flat at the moment and the rows keep getting wider and wider! I just picked up a cardigan I started in April 2022 when I was definitely not as good at knitting and I kept putting it aside when I got lost or made mistakes. Hopefully it will come together quickly now that I actually know what I'm doing!
that’s such a good idea & point. we learn sooo much in our journeys and it enables us to do better either on the next project or to repair the old ones!!
i’m currently knitting my first cumulus blouse too! i’m so close to being done but i’ve just run out of yarn before doing the i-cord neckline 😭 i think i’m going to have to frog it somewhere to get more yarn to do it ;-; what would you suggest? yours looks absolutely beautiful and this vlog is so cozy and lovely 🫶
@@morganunraveledthank you for the suggestion! yess i’m definitely feeling discouraged as of now even though it’s been a really fun knit (and my first sweater ever) so i’ll see what i end up doing :’)
i'm currently making the Ballerina Wrap Top by Two of Wands (i understand the long purl rows!!) and also the Step by Step Sweater by Florence Miller lol. I ran out of yarn for my Cinema Sweater so i'm waiting for more to come in. I just bought the stitch holder cords so i'm excited for them to come in tomorrow! I also bought a mic so i can make IG/TikTok videos and hopefully progress to UA-cam! I need all the help i could get but i'm so excited that i have my foot in the door right now :)
i'm knitting my first scarf with some cheap circular needles and two balls of 100% acrylic yarn, i'm doing only knit stich so i can work on my tension, i'm doing both english and continental style i'm doing my best to not decrease or increase so i can only see issues with the tension, it's fun and simple and i needed that since i'm not home and i can't work on my scarp yarn crochet blanket
I have noticed with PetiteKnit patterns I always size down… I have a looser gauge than her and I find that if my garment if a bit too small I can always block it bigger but the opposite is not quite the case… I also tend to shorten the garment even though I’m 177cm tall her patterns are too long for my taste Your cumulus blouse looks very cosy and is nice ! Congrats 🎉
Currently finishing the petal drop socks by handmade by Florence and then working a second storm slipover junior for my toddler! Btw any recommendations for Aussie yarn shops online (that potentially ship to New Zealand)? 😅
omg so cute. I made a storm sweater junior for my son too!! 🌩️ Aussie yarn shops: I highly recommend Bendigo Woolen Mills, love them - huge 200g balls of wool, great value! HandMakeCreate in Sydney is where I got my Lykke needles but they have yarn too & they were soo kind & quick. I hear great things about Morris & Sons in Melbourne but haven’t tried them. also for handdyed yarn I ADORE Blackwattle yarns in NSW, near Canberra. I’m sure after more time here I’ll have more recommendations!
@@morganunraveled oh gosh thanks so much!!!! I’ve got them saved and will slowly check them out ☺️ I’ve always found yarn options here (in NZ) fairly limited so always on the lookout for more options in the region!
re: frogging your unfinished cumulus: I've never regretted frogging a project, no matter how far I was into it. If I look at it and can't help but see the mistakes, I won't like it and won't wear it. I have frogged entire sweaters because I wasn't happy with how they turned out. so yes, I'm always pro-frogging!
I use eucalan wool wash - I have it linked in my amazon storefront in my description!💕 I don’t have blocking mats/boards anymore since we moved abroad and I have a toddler who would trample anything on the floor, so I usually have to block my knits up on my table. I just lay them flat to dry and turn them over after a day! 😅
Thanks to this vlog , I think In also need to get friends too😢, ever since becoming a mom my kids & hubby are my only friends 😊 as much as I love my housemates sometimes it's overwhelming! Any Kenyan knit/ crochet here? Well Morgan if you need an extra in you little circle am here🖐️
totally resonate - the first couple of years of motherhood were quite isolating. I’ve always been someone that had lots of internet friends but not many IRL. it’s so helpful to get out and step out of mom mode. I hope you can try to join a group or something in your area to make some friends 💗
not a bad idea!! I just don’t love stripes so I can’t see myself wearing that, and I’d need to find a yarn of a comparable fiber & weight that would work well with it (since this yarn is discontinued)
I'm currently working on the Northland Sweater by PetiteKnit, while vlogging for a week, would it be okay if I added the clip of me knitting and showing what I'm watching? (this video lol) Wanted to ask before I just upload it
@@morganunraveled I meant the first one you started but never finished. I think it was gray. I love the idea of buddy knitting with friends. Even if you don’t see them everyday. That is fun.
Just peeped you watching the Laci Peterson documentary if you like true crime and haven’t watched Into the Fire: the lost daughter…. It just blew my mind 😮
I am a first time visitor of your channel and I really enjoyed this video. It was so nice to accompany you (and your friends) on your journey of creating the Cumulus blouse and the end result is stunning! May I ask, how did you meet your knitting friends? Via Instagram? I am in a similar situation as you living away from all my old friends and would also love to meet some "cosy friends" in my area 😊
thank you for being here!! 🫶🏻 they all found me through my youtube channel and reached out! I’ve never been able to find friends with my hobbies like this actually in my area before so it feels like the stars aligned and we were meant to find each other ✨ I hope you can find your cozy friends too 🥲
I love this type of vlog. Seeing one project from start to finish in one video is cool.
yay! so glad you enjoyed watching ☀️

editing me talking about meeting you for the first time was so cute, especially now that we’re besties 🥰💗🌷

oh that sounds lovely! I’d love to make the o-neck as well!
