Good work Okki. For those of you that don't know the neon bulb is acting as a dummy load to dissipate the back EMF spikes that could destroy the transistor.
Many Bright Purple Neons, some even cracked, and many more burnt 2N3055s later, I decided not to try to do the same thing over and over again while expecting a different result each time. But placing coils to the sides and also two others as an X shape when seen from the top, connected in series such that each set is physically 90 degrees off from the other, produces a great deal of input power requirement. Also, when you show in your previous video that the rotor will not turn in one direction while smoothly turning in the the other direction, is the clear measurement of the amount and strength of generator power potential that functioning only in the motor mode is having to overcome. I made this exactly as you have within a similar pvc pipe with the windings in the directions I mentioned above. I still have that motor-generator. It lights up five 3watt 220v AC LEDs while working as a fan as well. It is very useful when we have our brown outs and blackouts. As for your conclusion, respectfully, I would let you know that while you are correct to say that this will not achieve a closed loop I have seen it do quite a lot more when made to function DIFFERENTLY from what is touted as a Newman Motor. Put collector coils around the sides to use the extraneous magnetic flux!
I did try that but I could not get good output from that.
