I drove an Autocar hauling gravel at the start of my trucking career. Didn't have a great turning radius. But solid . You couldn't kill it. A 350 Cummins with a 13 speed.
When I worked for a drilling company we had an Autocar that pulled a lowboy for our heavy equipment. I used to love that old truck. Nobody understood why and always wanted to drive the newer trucks.
Loving the engine sound from that Autocar, music to my ears. I'm thinking when I get home I might swap it over to my W9. Nice video, as always. Cheers!

The tornados you were talking about in Tuscaloosa al were in April of 2011 they tore from Tuscaloosa to Greendale up to Cullman then skipped and hit Athens Madison and Huntsville i was staying in Huntsville at the time ended up moving to one of the hit areas a couple of years later. But grew up in Magee Mississippi was all over that state my whole life.
Autocar was much like Marmon. They were overbuilt for the most part and rubber grommits had a habit of failing and they always were clunky with lots of metal on metal noice. Friction with the fifth wheels was a problem... Geared low they were beasts, but once you got up to highways speeds the weight and friction tore them apart. The 3 autocars I had driven all had wondering steer Axel's... Lots of wheel play..
I remember watching the 2011 Super Outbreak live on the weather channel. Back when I watched CNN I was switching between that and TWC which were both carrying live feeds from local affiliates.
The Autocar AT64 looks very similar to The mid 80's Western Star truck at the time! The truck in this simulation is a DC model with aftermarket sleeper (coffin sleeper)! Autocrat DC and the later DK were mostly construction trucks! Even today Autocars are still used in New England alot!
I drive an extremely rare (one of 3 I believe with the spring pack/rear axle set up) Oshkosh 6x6 to move houses in Iowa nearly weekly. Oddly enough the steering wheel is VERY similar to this truck in the video I will have to look again tomorrow but I think it’s the same besides the logo😂😅

I really enjoyed the auto car I've been a diesel technician now for tractor trailer and pretty much anything else they throw at me for the last 7 years and I've only seen one and that was my Godfather's when I was a kid so that brought back memories thank you
I'm in Colorado so it would be cool to see the map expand to include it especially the i70 stretch that goes through the mountains...its very steep and curved

Hey Jeff, I believe your transmission issue was you skipping 6th gear. On a 10 speed, 5th is all the way right and down then you switch to high side and 6th is all the way left and down, then 7th and so on. XBS does amazing trucks, and he make them so quickly compared to well, anyone else its insane, he's a machine. But this truck I did not like... it wants to roll over like no other truck I've ever driven and I got 3000 hours in these games and I drive carefully. Maybe its been improved now, but I doubt it. Lovely looking thing tho and more is coming! Unlike many I tend to do 55 - 60 mph everywhere as top speed, I find doing anything else is insanity. Maybe because I'm European.
No, I haven't driven an auto car. Just White GMC Volvo, Pete 377, 379, 387, Volvo VNL770, 780, KW T2000, T600, W900, Freightliner classic, Colombia, Cascadia, International eagle, ProStar. The truck I owned myself was a 2012 Cascadia. Sold it and retired early.

What a fantastic truck, love it. Last month I played Euro Truck Simulator 2 and drove in Romania. The navigation sent me to a forbidden street.
The freeway interchange and everything around it at 17:43 is the exact same as Albuquerque, NM.

TrackIR will be my next acquisition. I'm still using FaceTrackNoIR with a PS3 Eye. It's janky sometimes, but it works when you got decent lighting.

April 27th 2011. Is well known beyond Tuscaloosa Alabama. Look up phil Campbell, cullman Alabama we had EF-3 to 4 tornado that same day in evening.
