Mine arrived yesterday with sky cyan switch, I'm quite impressed by the keyboard out of the box. Will probably just lubed the switches and be my daily driver.

@@XaclainRecords hello, just getting back to give my review for the keyboard, I like it better than the gateron yellow (lubed). it's less scratchy and much softer when typing (my own opinion 😅). I removed the silicon from the case and added polyfill and it sounds better in my opinion.

@@XaclainRecords I did lubed the switches. I forgot to record and compare the sound from the stock silicon and replaced with a polyfill and too lazy to open it again as I had a hard time opening it lol. Maybe you should compare it on your next video if you're planning to continue this series. I gave you a sub by the way. Keep going!

there's definitely been some hardware revisions to this keyboard since this vid, as my unit has south-facing LEDs and the keycaps appear to be PBT instead of ABS

Very good purchase! It is compatible with cherry profile keycaps but you will experience interference because these have north facing LEDs. There are switches you can use to avoid this (Long Pole Switches).

Never knew there was another model of the keyboard. Do the changes make a difference? I noticed the knob turns clockwise compared to mine (counterclockwise)
Heyyy! Yea. There is an updated version but I really thought the revision was more of the knob turning from counterclockwise to clockwise.
Hmmmm. I have not tried the other variant unfortunately but I think there might be a difference but not that huge. The sound may be different because of the addition of the PE foam-ish thingy thats attached to the plate foam.
Im assuming you have the poron gaskets? How do you like it? My variant may be the same as its not that bouncy.
Awesome vid! Currently using the same keyboard and I'm not a fan of the stove-like knob and I see you replaced it with the GMMK Pro knob. Does the knob fit snugly with the shaft? Is there no wobble at all?
Hii! Thank you so much! Yes. It fits the shaft no problem. The only problem is because the knob I used was painted, it was a bit bigger and would hit the border line thing of the knob area (you will see this if you remove the knob)
There is a better knob that I think most people are using. I will link it here.

Do you know if any type of keycaps will work for this keyboard? Like keycaps that fit on gateron switches will work for this keyboard too?
Hii! Yeah it should work with any type of keycap so as long as it has a cross (+) on the stem.
This is my first ever mechanical keyboard and at first i thought i needed to soup up the keyboard with all the foams and new switches and what not. I'm not a pro, so I don't really know my stuff other than what I read or watched on tutorials. However, the first time I tried it, I already loved the stock sound, except the backspace key which sounds more hollow than the space key, lol! So, I'll probably work on just the backspace or space bar keys, but I am okay, or even prefer the sounds of the stock sky cyan switches.
I wanna try and achieve a creamy sound, but we'll see how it goes! Like you said, this is a great starting keyboard. I kinda want a Wooting though, but it's too expensive and it's only 60%, and I need a keyboard that can switch between PCs because I have a dual PC setup.

Hmmmm. I think you can swap between different PCs. PC one will have the 2.4ghz then the other one can be in BT mode or wired mode.

Hiii! Thank you so much! I really appreciate you. I'm sorry I don't understand the question. If you mean where did I buy it, I got it from my gmmk pro. If where I had it painted, I painted it myself. Also, if you mean how I got it out, I used a pick or something to slowly pry it off.

@@anhhoang8858 It is alright! :D I got the knob together with my GMMK Pro but it should be readily available. In the Philippines, you can buy it in the mall.
In my testing it does but I was not able to test it with a stock GMMK pro, meaning one that wasn't painted. So I can't give a definite answer :D But my knob fit just right.

I'm still deciding on which to get the RKH81 or the RK84. Also looking at the Machenike K500W at the meantime. Which would you recommend? Would very much appreciate other recommendations.

For me, I would choose the RKH81. I love it more than the RK84. The RKH81 has better 5 ghz mode or game mode, the bluetooth is better and more reliable as well. Not to mention the design overall is nice. But it still depends on you. I have not tried the K500w unfortunately.
Hmmm. What is your ideal price range? Are you set into having a 75% keeb?
@@XaclainRecords the price of the RKH81 is slightly higher than the budget i gave myself, I'm seriously considering to increase my budget to get it, but i have not seen too many reviews on it to really convince myself to get it. This is my first mechanical keyboard hence I'm not trying to overpay too much, but hope getting something that i will keep on using for many years to come, so the build is important.
I understand. When I first started in the hobby as well, I was considering so much as I wanted it to last a while. If it were me, I'd choose the RKH81 if you can increase your budget. Build quality, features, you've got it all. If you can, choose the Sky Cyan switch as I've heard good things about it. But of course, if you wanna go clicky, their is nothing wrong with it. It's really up to you. You can also consider the RK87. RK is sending one to me for review and I'll let you know how it goes.

@@XaclainRecords oo same ra, sky cyan lang ang switches sa akong unit. muted ang sound tungod sa silicone dampeners, gi remove nako pati silicone pcb sheet, PE foam ako gipuli. Mas nice sound ma generate sa polyfill

I think madala pa mn guro jd ug improve. Pero daghan kag iremove lageh. Wala nay case foam, mg remove guro kag mga plastic jd sa bottom case. Pero sakto ka. Dli namn kaayo ni need imod ky nindut nmn siya.
Is the RKH81 better than the RK87? Been hovering over keyboards made by Royal Kludge because it seems to be great value for its prices.
Any recommendation within the same price range is also appreciated!

I have not tried the RK87 yet but I think the RKh81 is better because of its compactibility.
I do have the R87. Its a newer TKL from RK but I have not had the chance to review it yet. But, this is newer and from what I've seen, may be even better than the RKH81. But i will have to fully use this to confirm.

Secondly, i honestly have not tried adding another sheet of PE foam or doing two sheets of it. I suggest trying to remove the existing one and replace it with your own. It might change the sound.

Oh so I should replace it. Thanks for clarifying coz most vid I saw on other models, parang walang ganung silicon pad/foam. So I am not sure what to do.
I still currently using the brown switch that comes with it. I plan to change, maybe a month or 2. Sulitin muna yung stock haha. I want to explore the least expensive mods first before opting for the costly ones.
Hahaha! The lason is real! That's the start of never ending spending. Bwahahahaha! But it's a very fulfilling hobby in my opinion.
For the silicone pad, i suggest checking first if your keeb has it. Kasi may ibang versions neto na wala. If meron it is up to you if you want to replace or hindi. Keeb mod freedom talaga!
Ohhh. Wala ba yung sky cyan na version? That would've been perfect talaga! But the browns are okay. But Ive noticed that RK browns are a bit different from gat browns or cherry browns.
But i agree! Sulitin mo muna ang stock kasi you would find out ano talaga yung gusto mo or preference sa switches. Baka linear gang ka pala and ndi tactile.
The beauty of the H81, you can actually do minimum to no mods. Possible mods are tape moding the pcb, probably adding a different PE foam, modding the stabs, change switches, change keycaps, etc.

Sa case mo, it means ndi pa cya fully charge. Fully charge cya if it stops blinking.

Hi! I'm not sure but I think it stops charging when it is full. You can open it up to detach the battery if you'd want to.

Hmmm. For feel, medyo subjective ni siya. Unsa imong current switch rn? Are you team linear or tactile? And what is satisfying to you? Mas ganahan kag humok or mas ganahan kag naay feedback?
If wala paka mg change switches, then i suggest doing that first. Then lube it para mas smooth.
Mao ra ni cya ang best na option other than probably adding poron gaskets para mu bounce but dli kaayo ko sure ani kay basin ending ky dli na nuon maka bounce ky huot rasd ba.

Wala pako ka try ug akko cream blue. Akko cream yellow lng ako na try nya ganahan sd ko niya. Mas smooth siya jd. Ang aflion ink kay medyo bug.atan ko niya and mas mu prefer kos akko cream yellow jd.

Hii! Yess it was relatively smooth but yung knob ko kasi was painted so may konting na added na thickness. If you plan to buy a knob, I'd suggest looking for a knob for the Lychee G66. I had it in one of the comments here as well. Sorry i can't link it now as I can't find the shopee page on my phone.
