We couldn't visit Lima, Peru without dedicated a day to trying all the local dishes. We tried so many dishes during our food tour. Some were new, some had a unique Peruvian style, but they were all delicious. Mercado 28 was a great one stop shop where we were able to try so many different local dishes. And of course we had to end off the day with some dessert from street vendors in the park!

      Greetings.
Lima is not only Miraflores, San Isidro and Barranco as the vast majority of tourists believe (promoted by travel agencies), they are Americanized areas to make them feel at home, as well as the gastronomy of those places (you will find fusions or foreign foods for the most part), it is very difficult to find our traditional gastronomy there, which is the most famous in recent years. But those places are not the real Lima where we all live. Lima has more than 40 districts to visit. In addition, in those places they assault tourists in prices.

Hello , many thanks for showing food in Lima, the city where I was born. IMHO and after eating hundreds of ceviche in my life, I do recommend to go to an specialized place for eating ceviche. They are called Cevicherias. They are restaurant specialized in fish and seafood. Not only ceviche, but also tiradito, parihuela ( soup ), chicharron de calamar, ceviche mixo ( fish + seafood ), fry fish, etc. The good thing about this food what is caught same day, early in the morning at 5 AM. So fresh and so good. It is one of the secret of the best quality in all the food-related-to-the-ocean in Lima and in general in the coastal areas of Peru. It would be nice to see you guys eating ceviche at Cevicheria and Pollo a La Brasa. Recently this dish won as the best food in the World based on chicken. They are eaten in specialized restaurants called *Pollerias*

Hi Guys. This was a great food tour of Lima that you shared. The yummy breakfast biscuit with meat and onions and other mixings in there looked tasty. Eating at the food courts with the meals you showed looked tasty we were able to hear you ok the crowd noise wasn't too bad. The drink made from purple corn looked interesting and the food vendors you stopped and sampled along the way was great to see. Overall great food tour of Lima as always thanks for sharing with us look forward to seeing your next travels from Peru. On a recommendation for a world travel destination how about Ireland & Scotland. It'd be wonderful to see how you both would like travels to there.

Trying new food is easily one of the most important aspects of travel! I'm definitely a big fan of trying street food, its often the best cuisine you can find! I never actually knew what caviche was, now I do, and it looks delicious! That meat bun at the beginning looked delicious too!

it's so refreshing to see you guys roaming Lima with cameras in hand. I visited a few years back and I was with a local family and they kept telling me to hide my cheapish point and shoot camera as it would surely get grabbed (it didnt). I also met a couple who had their bags and passports stolen from the cab they were in at gunpoint on their drive into town from the airport. i know I'm not really dealing with the topic of this video which is great, but it's really good to know you can come to Lima and be relaxed because all the information I felt bombarded with before I went didnt make me feel that way!

@@jordanandsoph hello again, one good thing of peru is that food is freshly produced from the soil, there are no GM crops here, no corporations producing food but smaller family run agriculture businesses, we are a poor country but food is still affordable and nobody should be starving or going thru hunger. Actually it was the peruvian potato that saved millions in Europe during famine in 1700s ….the Irish found potatos from a Spanish galeón that wrecked in their coasts….it was full of potato’s hurra !! Actually I think the poor less fortunate in peru eat better than the poorer in Europe or America and I have lived in both places, maybe I should exclude the Mediterranean countries that have a potent agriculture with a lot of variety …like peru we have it all except wheat 🌾 to make bread and pastas that we need to import…maybe meat 🥩 also peru is not self sufficient but that’s about it.

    • @josefg5212

As a peruvian I can see why we have Salsa criolla and consist in onions with lime and we put in a lot of food with chicharron and bread, also in tamales and ceviche, in some other sea food, also in empanadas, inside filled potato, much of our food has some base with onions.
