For people in 2022 with One UI 4.0. If you go to apps in your settings, you'll see the small text "Your apps" above your apps list. You'll see a small arrow pointing down on the right hand side. Click on that and enable show system apps, then click OK. Then search "bio" you'll see what he shows in the video. Click the app then scroll down to battery and select unrestricted. I hope this helps.

Hey Jimmy you've always been mighty informative. Never knew I could use 2 thumbs under one unlock profile. Just did so and that itself has enhanced the unlock experience on my S21 Ultra. Also followed the other 2 steps and it's made a world of difference. Thanks a million 😀 . Jimmy is Ace.
2 fingerprints in one profile is absolutely helpful.. and disabling the optimization is really noticeable on my Note 10 Plus

Yeah I have been using the multifinger to one print profile. It really helps. I do one for my primary thumb then another for both of my thumbs. Really effective.
Bro! While I was in the battery optimization settings, I turned off the Adreno Graphics battery optimization...

Before I added my screen protector my fingerprints worked flawlessly. Once I added the protector, it was just ok with my thumbs and harder with my index fingers. Used all three of your suggestions and now all is good. Thanks and subscribed.
Have an S23 and an A42 and the settings have different terms but I found the first two. Additionally I turned off "show unlock transition effect. Not sure if this was a good idea. Thanks for this and other videos. It is impossible to discover all the Samsung features on my own! 🤗
Bro, You are a genius. I was having the HARDEST time with my scanner after installing a new screen protector. The DOUBLE THUMB method is the ONLY method that got my scanner to work. Please add a video letting people know this works for new screen protectors. Thank you so much !!

Hi! Awesome video however anybody knows how to turn off the last option on One ui 4.0? Seems like the Optimize Battery usage is not on the special access.

The alternate fingerprint idea is actually pretty clever! I never thought of it. Also I thought the more the samples it has the better they fingerprint unlock. But I never thought that it could also slow down the recognition as it has to go through more samples, pretty clever. Nice video!

No. Using 2 Fingerprints for 1 or 2 profiles is the same. 2 Fingerprints..... just less scans to read through.

I had no idea about any of these! I only have to touch my thumb to the screen and it instantly opens! Used to be so aggravating having to hold my thumb there, now it's instant! Thanks for another great tip!
Very useful video for increasing the speed .Sometimes i fed up with my finger print scanner but thank you soo much that you resolved my problem .All these work for me and now my finger print scanner is working more efficiently.

I just upgraded to a S21 from my old S9 and my S9's fingerprint sensor was never reliable at all. I ended up using Iris/Face Recognition with a lot more success.
At first my S21's fingerprint sensor seemed ok but within 24 hours it started failing like the S9. I tried your two finger setup and it seems to help.
I hope it gets better with time.
I have noticed that the main issue is mostly with unlocking the phone. Biometric unlocks for apps doesn't seem to have the same failure rate.

It made my biometrics work faster. Before i had to long press it 2-3 seconds on my Samsung a34 after i did this method i just tap it for 1 second it started to open definitely works will try it on my other devices

Great video! Been struggling with the fingerprint scanner for quite some time. I have an issue with using a screen protector. It simply doesn't work with a screen protector. Online shows to not run one on the phone but I am very worried that the screen will get scratched or even break. Is there anyway to still use the fingerprint scanner with a tempered glass screen protector?

Wow, it really helps!! I turn off the amination and the battery usage optimization and that solves the problem. No more problem with the fingerprint.
Hey do you know how to set a dedicated fingerprint to open the secure folder? I use to have it on my note 10 plus but now i don't see the option on my note 20 ultra.
Sorry to say but they removed that feature since the galaxy S20 series till date.

Samsung should disable the battery optimization thing for biometrics by default. Like what the heck!!! Thanks for the tips! This made unlocking with my fingerprint super quick!
Thanks for the tip, it helped alot...I even went further doing 2 fingerprints with 1 profile twice and also registered both my left and right thumbs separately again...and it was super cool....
They should set up the print scanner like this ;
Hold you finger on for a split second, then release, and then the phone opens up before it even has a chance to confirm your print. Then, the phone will continue to try and confirm you print, after it opens up your phone.
If the print is good, phone stays on, print is bad, it turns phone back off (less than a second).
Would be really, really quick!

I did that from day one, since the S21 Ultra.
It's great, because you can put all your fingers if you wanted to.
I've been put on almost all Fingerprints,8 Finger.
The Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are actually the most accurate plus secure, other than the optical or capacitive fingerprint sensors that are not that safe at all.
