  • So I just put this new small 52hp ALM case together with a few select modules and was making some soundscapes live on Twitch yesterday, this was one of the better scapes I recorded. Main modules used here are Lubadh, Morphagene, Nautilus and FX Aid.

    Your ambient music never disappoints! Perfect for when I’m working and need just the right amount of distraction but not enough to cause me to lose focus… ok I do drift off a bit into a fantasy world listening many times… but let’s keep that our secret 🤫😅😅😅😅

    Hello State Azure!
    You can make the screen on the Fantom black in the settings, it will be softer on the eyes!

    Oh My God! I think you have just made me realise that I have been thinking about modular in completely the wrong way…
    So many questions… I would love to see a breakdown of this patch…
    So you’re not using a sequencer to trigger sounds, but the Lubadh, Morphagene, and Nautilus to manipulate and loop granular slices sampled from sounds input from the Fantom?
    Now I have Gas! 😂

    • @stateazure
      @stateazure  Місяць тому +1

      No sequencer at all, nor a dedicated oscillator, no envelopes or VCAs, it's just a box for recording/looping and manipulating samples for creating soundscapes. So yeah, pretty much as you mentioned, but the sound isn't coming from the Fantom, I'm just using the Fantom for MIDI. The sounds are coming from the DAW, mostly from Kontakt 7 in this case. I only just put this case together, so I wanted to try it out with recording the DAW output first, since everything is setup there on my desk and I just have to plug in the cables and away we go. But this would work really nice with any input. I have a Disting EX in this case with a MIDI breakout, so I could make loops entirely in the case with just a MIDI keyboard even, but I think I like the idea of using external inputs more so I might tweak the module setup better yet. The patching here is really simple, stereo inputs go to the Lubadh, once I've finished recording with that I can put the inputs into the Morphagene and record a different part there (the Morphagene is more 'playable', so it's nice to have it). Stereo outputs from Lubadh and Morphagene go into my Befaco STMIX, then the mixed stereo output goes through Nautilus for delay into FX Aid for huge reverb, back out into the DAW for recording. But there's other ways to patch this that might be more interesting, i.e. going through delay and reverb first then into the Lubadh/Morphagene.

      @@stateazure This is really amazing, and opens so many interesting possibilities for a modular rig that suits my workflow so much better.

      Thank you Pat for your response and detail on the patching, and thank you for your amazing channel and creativity.

I have a new case arriving next week as I’ve run out of space on my original 6U 60HP one. Now I know exactly how I am going to repurpose that.
