I like Zeos Pantera's definition: "Audiophile just means ya give a sh*t."

I love headphones and Qobuz is my favorite streaming source too. The first question I always get from friends when talking about music is, "What's a DAC?". Sometimes I feel so alone.

It was a fun episode, however you might want to check what your Moon_Audio HiFi Decoded definition is for Audiophile see below>
"Audiophile - An individual who is enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction. An audiophile seeks to reproduce the sound of a live musical performance, typically in a room with great acoustics."
Because what you're suggesting an audiophile is in the episode makes more sense to me. I.E. The type person who just loves to sit down in their living room (or listening space) and just enjoy listening to their music, many times with their eyes closed and the lights low. Yes it sure is nice when you can afford a bunch of fancy ass super great sounding gear, but its even nicer to be able to just take time out of the day sit down and relax and enjoy music for the sheer joy of it.

I'm 42 and quite new to the audiophile scene which I've gotten into in the last 2 years, I have OCD and Slight Aspberger's and learning disabilities, while I have been listening to music all my life am too dumb to be an audiophile, I really do care about the quality of the music I listen to sounds the very best that it can, I just don't understand the technical stuff to do with audio such as frequency response and other technical jargon and the audio lingo that goes along with it. It has been quite frustrating for me to get into the audiophile scene because it has been too overwhelming but I'm glad I discovered channels like this that really do care about audio quality and help beginners like myself understand it better, I'm definitely going to read through your audiophile guide and description that you mentioned in this video to help me understand it better.

If I had money I would buy a DAP. I'm in uni and my KZs broke because of a factory mistake after 3 years of having them. Hope to get my degree soon and be able to afford a proper setup ❤

Dieter Burmester once said, Audiophiles listen to their gear. Not the music. Partly I agree. Men and their toys. I am this cliché. Oooooold, too much time. Collector. Bought a new house and I will built a new system. I try to find the best for me, for as little money as possible. Always beeing very realistic. And oh yes. I still hear the difference between 9 snares or 13er on a guitar. But let’s be very realistic. Having a life, how much time we do sit down and can just listen to music? 4/5 hours a week? At the most. For the rest of time music accompanies my activitys.

I used headphones for a while. Eventually I found them uncomfortable to wear for more than an hour. Eventually I realized it was affecting my hearing. I stopped wearing headphones. I bought a microphone to measure the audio profile in my living room and see it on a graph. I tweaked this and moved that, measured again, over and over. Eventually I realized I was chasing a unicorn. Currently I just use very basic rules of speaker placement and no longer care about the need to rebuild my room to home theatre specifications. It sounds "good enough."
My name is Chester and this is my story.

I started this hobby I guess around April of this year. Started with the Ibasso Dongle Dac & truthhear Hexa and subscribed to Apple and Tidal. A month after, bought the Btr7 and the Sundara. In just a few month now oh man - 3 headphones (Sundara, hd650 & mdr-mv1), topping stack, 3 iems, desktop speaker with sub. I still don't condisder myself an audiophile

Audio systems are only as good as your ears. Enough said.
