Thanks, now I kinda wish had a couple more so I don't have to keep switching mounts. Gotta have something to keep working for, right? We'll keep trying to make them better. Thanks for watching!
Good vid Bob! When straps came out they were a God send.......all we used to have were the cables and small corner irons that were so hard to get to stay in place on a tall load of lumber etc. Nice "teaser" for the next vid too. Oh, yeah, I really like the quality of the new camera! Not as much shaking but the quality of the video itself is much better!!
I've only been flatbedding for the last 11 years, but I've heard stories... Glad for the straps, plastic corners, etc that is available today. The family pitched in to get me a new GoPro for Christmas, still trying to figure out the best positions to mount at. But it does seem to give a much better picture. Hoping it makes editing easier also! I'm still wondering if using the body harness will give good footage or not (I'm never sure if the aim is good).
@@BobsGulch I know I'm aging myself but the big "improvement" we had in the early '70's was the small metal corners were being but with these two "eyes" that allowed for a long reaching stick (similar to what you used here to scoot the strap across the lower sections of the decking) to reach up from the ground to set the corner. If you didn't have those type corners then you had to climb up on like a dry load of lumber, set your corners (after you slung the cables) and tries so gingerly to get the cable over the corner without knocking it off. Fun times! Well I think you used the body harness on this vid I assume. I think those shots were very steady, far more steady than say a cops body camera. In my opinion - your family did good!
I like how you show you strap that down you could do more of showing how you tie things down and why you time down the way you do I like that I remember tying stuff down too. Every job is a little different or every load is a little different.
I’m going to say that the first video from the new camera is so much better. Thanks for sharing your videos with us!

Good to see how you secured that load. New drivers can kearn a lot from your videos. Thanks.👍
I don't know, my securement may be too much overdone. But I'd rather do too much then not enough 🤔. That decking has a tendency to move too easily.
That was exactly my way of thinking following a few hard lessons early in my flatbed experience.

With the new camera, I'll do that more. It was hard to hold the phone and throw straps or chains. 🙃
