  • 2 door Bronco Mods! Rear Seat Delete (cargo load floor build)
    2 door Bronco owners know the pain...just no rear cargo space, especially if long travel trips are the goal. Here I show you how to remove the rear seats and prep the back of the Bronco for a custom, home made load floor.
    A special collaborative effort between myself and my good friend Dino, and his excellent UA-cam channel, "Dino's Tinker Shed", I link you over to the first of his 2 part episode of the actual floor construction.
    You don't want to miss it!
    You can view the first of his introduction and construction episodes right here....

    Props. Researching my approach to storage on a 2 Door and I found this essential. Thanks for posting.

    Eric, what a great time getting this project completed and being my first collaboration video I don't think I could have had a petter person to partner with. Great video Eric. Can't wait to see more of the lonely overlander 😁

    This is so awesome! Answering any of the real questions people have instead of the " top 10" or "The reason I hate" videos. Amazing content, keep it up.
    Can you do your Renogy set up next? Even a review of it?
    Curious if you find any challenges ( I am looking at buying a Bronco) with the 2 door over the 4 door?
    Looking forward to your in depth and informative future videos.

    Most informative. Wondered what it would take to remove rear seats from a 2-door Bronco, way more complex than anticipated. Removing and reinstalling 2-door Wrangler rear seats is much easier and quicker. May scrap a 23MY Bronco purchase, because detractors are beginning to outweigh what I like about a Bronco over my 2020 2-door Wrangler Rubicon.

    I was looking into one of these with the intent on removing the rear seats. They really don’t make it easy. For such a utilitarian vehicle, it is a pain in the ass.

    My guess is that seatbelt sensor simply makes a connection between the two wires in the sensor cable when the seatbelt is not connected. Can you simply complete that circuit with a piece of wire to avoid the seatbelt buckle removal hassle?

    • @TLOverlander
      @TLOverlander  Рік тому

      That was my guess as well...
      I did exactly that... Shorted the two wires. No bueno....
      It's more sophisticated than that, unfortunately.

      @@TLOverlander hmmm sounds like a good opportunity for an aftermarket plug option.

    • @matthewbrewer6085
      @matthewbrewer6085 Рік тому

      My guess is that they detect both whether the seat buckle is plugged in to the truck, and whether the seatbelt is engaged. The two probably use different resistance. I'd try grabbing a voltmeter and checking it both with and without the seatbelt stuck in the buckle... then find a way to buy that connector, solder an appropriate resister to the connector, and connect it in... If you'll never use the seat again just cut the connector and use that.
      It's all a guess of course. I bypassed the temperature sensor in a leaf charger using a similar technique. You can make it clean with a little heat-shrink tubing.

    So after all that how much room do you got? Can you lay down

    • @TLOverlander
      @TLOverlander  8 місяців тому

      You maybe could if you moved the seat up and filled in the rear passenger foot well. I don't sleep in there though....

      @thebayharborbutcher9115 4 місяці тому

    What happened if ya just leave the buckles on seats and wires not connected ? Other than the light dash

    • @TLOverlander
      @TLOverlander  Рік тому

      Other than the lights, I'm not sure. Because the truck thinks there is a "malfunction" with the belts, it may not deploy the airbags in the event of an accident? Not 100%
      I don't want to tempt fate. Lol
      And I hate have the warning lights

    • @affidavit4

      @@affidavit4 I tried this as well. I think there's a hall-effect sensor in there maybe....?
