I think the HR Derby will be good. You don’t know who might win. It offers parity. The young guys are up and coming and a lot of young fans know who they are and the older fans will know after.

As a Padres co-fan, I'm so glad to see some Yankees fans see the value in Grish. We loved him. He is one of the most unselfish players in the game. He doesn't hit for average but the timing of the hits he does get is often crucial. Plus, in a 2-1 game you got to have a GG CF.

Lifetime baseball fan, but... I have never watched HR Derby except for the old version back in the 1950's. The All Star game is now a bore. I haven't watched since interleauge play started. I do watch regular season games on TV often (when I can actually get a game). Can't afford tickets and parking... retied fixed income. I'd rather skip the traffic and overpriced crappy beer. The players today are SOOOO talented and love the pitch clock, but the umps and strikezone are a mess. Very frustrating.

After Aaron judge won the Home Run Derby in 2017 he went on a 2-month slump

I know this may seem a little extreme, but since player participation is already "guaranteed" in the CBA, how about mandating that you cannot reject your first derby invite unless you have a LEGITIMATE injury??? Once you've done one, you can opt out in the future ... You could even include a short (one- or two-game) suspension as punishment, since teams often dissuade their stars from participating, though I would actually make it primarily a financial punishment, since the player has the ultimate choice

Thinking the players in the derby are fine. What is leading to this feeling, in my opinion, is that the Home Run Derby has run its course. How about stop trying to grab money any way possible. Give the players time off and focus on the pageantry and majesty that is baseball.

The dodgers have their superstar core signed for the next 5-10 years. The window for this core has just started

4:54 good, fuck management. To quote the preamble of my union’s constitution: “The working class and the employing class have nothing in common.”

Alanna.. Christian Walker is deserving. Do we know if he decline an invitation? Lets not make assumptions...
Hey Ken, here's a chance for players to step up, get bonus monies, and market the sport. Are they doing this? Of cousre not. And somehow this is on the league?
Why can't the players be the better person(s) and do this for the sport and the fans. And themselves. And future players... All this shows is that the players are just as petty as the media makes the owners..
