Wait...the channel that makes the best battle reports for games I don't play is going to start making battle reports for games I will be playing? Sign me up!
@@VicodinElmo I can't say I blame them. My opinion on Shatterpoint has cooled considerably since I made that comment and played the game several times.
This is the best how to play video on this game that I have come across. I hope you guys continue to add more demonstrations on how to play using different expansions packs.
This was a great mix between a how toplay and battle report. Not too lengthy as to be information overload but the visual representation of how the game is played was really helpful. Subbed! :)
I am so stoked for you guys to play full battles of Shatterpoint! Your videos are always awesome, I can't wait to see what you do with some SW skirmishes. :)
Pretty good vid. It may be valuable to "test" your videos on experienced boardgame people who have never played the game, just to smooth off the edges. Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the production, tho! Just a few times stuff seemed unintuitive, like you wounding a unit before telling us how wounding happens. Also, one person uses the word stamina to determine wounding and the other says durability. Pretty confusing for one of the most essential mechanics. That's one of the few things I'll have to look in the rulebook for tho, so overall: A WIN! Thanks!
First time subscriber here. Looking forward to starting this game. Just got the core set in yesterday. Cool Channel, curious which mountain you're next to? Mine's Pikes Peak.
8:30 - Why exactly did Bo Katan get to take her jump action without using one of her 2 actions? From MCP I think that this is because it's a "superpower" but what is this called in Shatterpoint?
If you pause and look at her card at 7:29, you can see she has an active ability called Jetpack, which lets her spend a force point to perform a jump. This doesn't count as a normal action so she can still move and shoot etc.
I paused at 7:28 in to write this. You didn't explain range 1 when deploying, it appears to be the short edge of a range tool(?). You don't explain how to make the activation deck (There is a shatterpoint card I assume). I feel like if these simple things are ommitted then what else could be? This video makes me feel like I must watch other videos after I am done here, and I likely will but from another channel. -edit, You mention range 1 at 12:00. -further edit. I stopped watching at 19:25 when you explained wounding because I felt like you had talked about wounds a lot and already done it with Ahsoka but the order of your explaination is really confusing to me. I don't really understand Mauls turn. I don't understand the options of a turn. I don't understand how to play. I have vague concepts but this wasn't comphrehensive enough for me. The video isn't bad but I think the order of the script and how much information you give when introducing mechanisms could be reworked.
yeah the video was Meh... I came here looking for a gameplay spot light but... allas im not enthralled I know nothing of this game and have a unopened Legion box.. So I dont yet know why I should care.
I appreciate the video and you guys did a great job trying to explain the rules but does anyone else think this game looks complicated AF ? it's like games are getting harder and harder to understand. Games used to have 1/2 die and now you have to roll 14 die to see if you've caused damage and then you have to check the card to see what that means and then add might points that take off any courage added. its like WTF, so confusing
It would have been helpful, if you would have explained everything you do, so I wouldn't have to guess and spend several minutes why you did that. After all, the title says: "How to Play", not "Battle report". But otherwise it was a great video.
I love your channel, and you guys do insanely good content... ... which is why I hope you don't start covering this ridiculously bad game. The rules are so Byzantine they feel like you're doing your taxes while being hit in the head by an accountant. It's also obscenely overpriced. If Perry and Wargames Atlantic are priced at $1 per model, there's no way in hell these guys need to sell you miniatures, that aren't even compatible with their other game, for $20 a model. The more people highlight games like this, the worse gaming gets for the consumer. Also, Clone Wars which is almost 20 years old instead of the Mandalorian? What the hell were they thinking?
not to um actually you but it’s closer to $6-$10 per model. I’ve played the game and it’s pretty fun. It’s definitely going to be my background game. Also come on…. We can’t talk about rules that feel like doing taxes and overpriced minis when this channel has mostly been about GW. they are the kings of overpriced plastic.
@@jeditimelords So I was basing that on a website that said the MSRP for the expansions was going to be $60 for four models. Tax and shipping would put that at almost $20 a model. It's actually $50 for four miniatures, which is still an obscene amount of money for what they're asking. GW can be just as bad, and they're about as anti-consumer as a company gets. But that doesn't make what Atomic Mass is doing any better. I honestly wish this channel would cover other games and other miniatures, but they do such a good job even a game as abysmally crafted as Kill Team ends up being really fun to watch them play. I don't even own Kill Team and will never play it again, but that's how good their videos are. Would kill for them to do a Five Parsecs from Home campaign or cover One Page Rules. Much better systems and a lot more fun to play.
"I love your channel but you exclusively cover games that are both garbage and actively harming every consumer of the industry" is my fav UA-cam comment take of the day 😂
You have a point. I didn't notice too many (any) moments in this demo when players got to make interesting, non-obvious decisions or faced real conundrums with equally viable options. Maybe I underestimate this choice of damage tracks and taking full advantage of the effects they offer.
Wait...the channel that makes the best battle reports for games I don't play is going to start making battle reports for games I will be playing? Sign me up!
Didnt watch the video yet but imma take your word as bond and sub n like prior to watching lmao
Looks like they’ve decided not to continue with them. They did one but haven’t seen anything since
@@VicodinElmo I can't say I blame them. My opinion on Shatterpoint has cooled considerably since I made that comment and played the game several times.
Very nice synthesis of the rules, it really helps get the flow of the game, which a procedural "by the rule" overview typically doesn't.
Really excited to see you guys covering Shatterpoint. Hope this becomes part of your rotation and you continue to pump out more Shatterpoint content.
Great video, really informative and helpful for those interested in the starter set!
I'm super stoked for Shatterpoint, and knowing that one of the best skirmish game channels is looking at doing content for it is very exciting!
very clean rules explanation. I enjoyed the mini demo and am looking forward to getting this game to the table soon. Thanks
This is the best how to play video on this game that I have come across. I hope you guys continue to add more demonstrations on how to play using different expansions packs.
Great format. No BS or long-winded rules repeats.
SO excited for this game. Was a pleasant surprise to see ya'll made a video on it!
Can't wait to see a full BR. Rules look interesting and we'll explained. Thanks for doing this!
Yesssss! You love to see it! Great vid guys, can’t wait to see more
Rad. This looks much better than Kill Team. Thanks for the run-down.

This video was AMAZING! So well done.

Thanks for the video, saw enough to know this games not for me
Excellent how to. Thanks for the content. Shared to my community page.

Great tutorial, I need to finish painting up the squads I have and try this out!
Incredibly nice and clear video, thank you!

Thanks, just read the rules and yall did a great job explaining.
Super excited to see more from this been my most hyped upcoming games in years.
Thank you so much! Amazing video, very well done and easy to follow for us new players! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!
Omgg yes I love your KT content and seeing you on Shatterpoint holyyyyyyyyg awesome :)
27:12 - Since Ahsoka had a strain token, would she have taken 3 damage when she activated her reactive ability here or is that not how strained works?
Great video! Thanks for teaching us the basics! Definitely looking forward to more!
Great job guys!
Great demonstration of the rules and basics, guys. Finishing up my core set and looking forward to getting this to the table!

good introduction to the game. Subscribed!

Very very cool!
Nice, yall sold me on this game. 😅
I played this with my friends the other day and kalani is stupid OP
Morty and birdperson are fantastic at learn to plays. Hope Rick does the next episode with summer

Great video, but I did have to go back to figure out what the critical rolls did and it makes sense now.
Isn’t the force spent to use the jump an action which is part of your two actions? How did you focus and attack ?
What painting kit do you recommend to get started?
What is the reddish paint you used for the stone? And any treatments?
can you mix and match galactic republic and seperatists like you can mix units in marcel crisis?

one question, we know if this game will also be released in Italian, thanks
Hi! Do the figures come painted or do you need to paint them?
They come unpainted on sprue (you have to build them)
Very well done video tutorial. Maybe you can get Glass Half Dead on for a rematch, eh.
Do you have to paint the minis?
Not sure if you mentioned, or of I didn't get far enough.. does it come painted ?
Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger Badger,
Mushroom mushrooms 🍄 😋 😍 👌 😜 🤪 🍄 😋 😍 👌 😜
I do have a question if it's not too much to ask but what is the difference between this game and Star Wars legion?
Legion is a smaller scale with bigger armies
Well this looks good. Is it better than Legion?
Wow, that looks like actual metal. I like it, what paint was used?
Can you guys cover legion
Lets go! legions when :0
Wait. You can push/pull off buildings?
I appreciate the video and you guys did a great job trying to explain the rules but does anyone else think this game looks complicated AF ? it's like games are getting harder and harder to understand. Thanks for the great video! But why do you all sound like calmed rick and morty 😂
Why didnt asokas team get to move the syruggle token sunce they had control ?
Good question! You don't get to move the struggle token in the first turn of the game. Otherwise, you move it every turn.
Can someone tell me the diference between Shatterpoing and Legion?
"Never going to be in a situation, where you love your minis and you get one shot and can't do anything" Looking HARD at you Star Wars Legion....
Can this game be played without a corset? I dont think mine will fit anymore 😂
And now they updated cover they need to have the hunker token
Where can I buy this game mat ! I cannot find one in that size ! And that is ship to Canada ! Help me plz !
There's a link in the description! "Desolate Dunes" from Skirmish Mats.😉
I'm monkey
Badger, badger, badger
Badger Badger Badger...
Mushroom! Mushroom!!
What happened to this game? Did it flop or is it worth looking into?
Meme gold
Badger badger bager mushroom mushroom MUSHROOM!

The play mat looks like skin with moles
I'm not seeing any reason to play this when Star Wars Legions is already on the market. Great review and instructions in the video though.
meh..
Bro chill on the mf ads, jeez

I mean, at least Ahsoka and Bo-Katan appear in Mando 😅 But, I totally agree, Star Wars games tend to be way pricier than they need to be.
