  • Adya urges us to watch our minds assign labels to ourselves, others, and the world, and to observe how those labels are simply an abstraction that has a tendency to concretize our sense of self and create division. It's the fear of losing control, and the fear of the oneness of love.

For me the voices aren’t even really mine a lot of the time - they’re very much echoing my conditioning and trauma…they’re ‘protectors’ almost mimicking my ‘caregivers’/abusers - whatever I don’t see myself as a victim in any way - I’m a survivor determined to thrive and be who I really am. And I know there’s nowhere to go to find that - it’s always been here, just covered up by a looot of layers that I’ve been peeling back.
The trauma was actually dissociated until around 7 years ago to protect me when my nervous system was too young to cope). Noticing that, observing just how much isn’t even mine is a part of healing for me. Thank you Adya, your wisdom always helps so much.

The non stop chattering in an autonomous process that we cannot really stop. I guess it’s the downside to our intellect. I think it’s important to not condemn yourself for that activity

The non stop chattering does stop when meditating, the mind comes to a complete rest, no thoughts just a feeling of oneness or bliss.

When I watch my mind, no thoughts arise.
When I stop watching, I get caught up in them.
How do I watch thoughts then ?

6:29 secs, ideas and relative truths, if the ideas were based on a universality , the greatest one there is, then the ideas could be refined into perhaps a more non relative casting of sorts.

I’m struggling to an impossible feat to change certain programmed responses. It’s like I can’t help it until it’s too late. Mostly what I think about others when I’m out in public. Much of it on the roads; what people drive, how they drive, how they disrespect me by tailgating or other dangerous, selfish driving. Also other things that I can’t seem to help, and catch myself after the thoughts or reactions, then regret that I was unable to be aware first and just reacted as programmed. It’s other things, too, but not nearly as often as the public reactions. Many online, and other places and reasons. I just can’t seem to help what arises. Thanks.

I’m not religious personally but that caught my attention because in ACIM, A Course in Miracles, channelled in the 70s, Jesus would call ‘the mind’ in that quote the Holy Spirit - the Self that Remembers, the soul - and the other voice‘suspicious at best vicious at worst’ is the ego. The first is ‘right mind’ and the second is ‘wrong mind’…the only choice is between Love and Fear. We have to not fear it and not believe it (this fear based thought system we’ve learned from the world).

another power within me, sounds like you are describing the subconscious in conflict with the conscious, the conscious does at times becomes confused however not the subconscious it is connected to nature. confusion leads to mistakes made, the nature of a disconnected conscious.

Out of the 16 year span, can you please suggest a good place to start watching your videos? Meaning, are things repeated to the point that it will all be covered by more current material, or would it be best to start at the beginning, or should we find titles that resonate with us, or any other suggestions on progressing through all these videos? I’ve been on a serious awakening/spiritual journey for almost 10 months straight, with experience before that, but very in-depth since then, when life changed drastically in ways and led me to dive in completely. Long story-short.

Personally I would advise to just DO anything to 'get even deeper'! DOING, so, bits of practice, cuz really theory has no value unless put into practice. So, basically just take anything that works for u, from any guru. Go by result, YOUR state, your results and seek something new when if progress stagnates.
However, if you are someone who really prefers to follow laid out steps then there are certain traditions that would suit u best. I forgot the name(s) tho.

Almost anything I hear from a great teacher or teachings is liberating.....whether it be any of Adya's, Eckhart Tolle, Mooji, John Butler, Nisargadatta Maharaj, Ashtavakra Gita, Avadhuta Gita, Papaji.....etc
Whatever brings me to that wonderful stillness, our true nature, is perfect
Inner silence / inner peace is the result of great pointers
So follow your ❤, your intuition
      Blessings

@@ellenlevin546 Thank you, Ellenlevin and JorisWeima. This is the approach I’ve taken all this year, and had some seriously good results, but I’ve gotten too scattered and mixed with it all; only getting so far because I don’t stick with anyone, which also causes me to have too many loose ends. I really wanted to break my UA-cam random scrolling habit and stick with one teacher until I feel complete with them. I started off this way with one guru/teacher, but I ventured into random guides and have never gone back since. I’d like to slow down and be serious about one teacher’s journey at a time until I’m satisfied with where I’ve arrived with their lessons.
This guy here helps me really fall into a place I feel at peace, and I naturally seem to replicate his demeanor when I’ve finished watching/listening to some of his videos. Since it’s where I am right now, it’s a great place to slow my pace.
