Wow! That's weird seeing that building after so many years. For quite a while, I worked as en engineer for an AM/FM combo that had half of the 42nd floor for the studios and a small room on the 38th for the FM transmitter. That first elevator equipment room you showed was like a tour through a museum while I worked there. The hoist motors and the motor generators that fed them DC were like works of art from an earlier era. Then there was the symphony of the clacking relays that made the elevators work. The engineers office was by a big window that overlooked the Superdome. The 42nd floor was on the bottom of the wider 'cap" you see on top of the building. If I had cut a hole in the floor right next to my desk, I would be looking at a 400 foot drop down to the street. The FM antenna was on the roof of the 44th floor so the engineers had keys to go to the roof to check it or just hang out. I took my wife and kids to visit up there a few nights. Even a city that was tacky and slimey at ground level becamea glittering jewell from up there. As a very young man, long before I worked in that building, It was always lit up at night with different colors of recessed lighting on all sides. It looked very cool and was a very classy building. After asbestos became such a big deal though, it was shut down and then abandoned in stages. Very sad to see what it has become.

Just last week someone fell from the building and died. There was an interview with the buildings owner. He stated they keep trying to secure the building but people keep getting in to steal wire and other metals. Its sad to see the building in such bad shape. I remember watching it being built when I a child. It still is beautiful from a distance over the New Orleans skyline. Thank you for the video.

I spoke to a lady a few years ago who’s husband was blown off the roof of the Toronto Dominion building in Toronto, Ontario back in the seventies. Be really careful that high up . I went in there a few times between 98 and 2000 when it still had a few tenants. It was small and cramped in its layout from what I remember. Most of the open areas were walled into narrow corridors with small offices for different tenants. Who knows how much asbestos I breathed in just going there on business, lol. Since then I got to stare at it for 20 years just down the road until 2020 when I stopped working in NOLA. Glad to see it again. Thanks for the video!

I kinda cried at the end of Retribution because of my choices 😅 here's why:
Knowing that I took the key from mama and killed her afterwards I felt no remorse
      But sadness...
Father carter was currupted by mamas troops killing his men and made him drink
I helped him out and he told me to shoot him and I didn't
But when he got up I did something that broke him and had no choice to kill him...
Gerik was a really broken character and was ripped from his family and took the walk
After I killed him I wanted to give him a warriors death by killing him with his own super bomb...
The pawn king was a bit of a traitor but I liked him
He was held at gunpoint by his own daughter and I told that bitch not to shoot....it was to late....and Sable, Echo, and Barnes
Sable:she got shot by a tower lakie and turned... I put her out of her misery...
Echo and Barnes: I accidentally shit them and they both turned... So they died to...
After I killed mama and took her key I stood near the edge and smoked my last cigarette from a pack I used while fighting the tower
And then I cried knowing even though the bells will stop...
More people will die because of my choice...so I turned of the bells and stood there... watching...waiting...
Hoping the nightmare will end for everyone....

My grandmother worked in that building late 90s to 2000, as a social worker. She got sick bad from the mold. She recently caught thyroids and still kind of sick from it. She got a big check from them in 2007. Hurricane katrina slowed down the process of the sue, she could have got the money earlier.

I knew a kid at university who's godfather was caretaker of an old 14 storey office / apartment building. Same story, asbestos condemnation. The godfather lived in an adjacent building and just performed basic maintenance and security on the 14 storey building. His godson helped out and had keys and codes to the whole place. There was a penthouse on the roof, technically the 15th floor, just took up one corner, the rest of the roof was flat with a garden and indoor / outdoor pool with a huge retractable roof. Sadly the pool was a drained. The final penthouse tenant was really old and he went into a nursing home when the building was shut down. All his very expensive furniture and most belongings were left behind. You best believe we ruled the night in that place. Parties, paintball, lasertag. There was a private theatre on the 10th floor. It had a huge library of old films on 35 and 70 mm reels. We could never figure out the film projectors, but we were able to hook up a digital projector and had lots of movie nights.

All this neglect is due to 1 simple but pathetic problem. A greedy unacceptable local government. This, like all big buildings in New Orleans, is made from concrete. Due to the fact that New Orleans is a swamp, the buildings have a basement and are sitting on bedrock. This makes them some of the strongest structures in the country.
They will still be standing strong in 200 years.
These buildings and charity had water damage to the bottom 3 floors. The city said the entire building must be completely removed and rebuilt. That's insane a few days of water don't hurt concrete.
So now the taxpayers are stuck dealing with the expenses of these buildings.
