@@Sha-Ayo yes. Have heard some hybrids of Kia are diluting oil with gasoline because engine stops and starts so much. That is why oil levels just keep increasing oil.
Kia did a very good job engineering in useful functionality to the second row. First up when you are sitting in the second row your legs sit square like in a chair so it’s designed to give you maximum comfort on long distance driving. Second when the 60/40 rear seat folds it pivots in such a fashion that the bottom cushion moves down closer to the floor before the upper seat cushions move to fold thus achieving a true fold flat second row. Thirdly the level of legroom is truly impressive with each section of the second row having the ability to travel multiple inches so you can give more legroom to the occupants or more cargo room depending upon your immediate needs. Imagine all this in a vehicle that is under 190 inches long. There are other SUVs that have been in the business longer than Kia and they are bigger(bloated), offer less legroom in the second row, and cost more yet expect customers to by them with less attention to details in the commodity vehicle market. Well done Kia
A very good suv, I am just disappointed with the phev version that besides being power downsized its battery is the same as the previous version, I would expect buy now at least an 18kw battery.
This is a great car for Europe since we lack so many non luxury 3 row options. Would have loved to see you in the hybrid top trim. Diesels are going out of favor, and popularity. Hoping to see you test the new Santa Fe hybrid at some point, to compare it with the Sorento. Also, Tucson facelift would be interesting to compare with Kia Sportage.

It is a very good vehicle this Kia Sorento, but I whant this brand could give us a much more potent engine, as a choise, something like Touareg. I never understood why volume brands don't offer more power, for adequate prices. They can do this, but they don't what this, and this is a strange thing for me.
Hyundai and Kia are the same company, and the top-tier engines are only applied to the Genesis line. Most Hyundai and Kia cars have 4-cylinder engines. If you add a V6 or higher to the Sorento, the car price goes up significantly.
US prices are excluding VAT, plus they sell lower trims in the US, but even that doesnt explain all the differences. Market is more competitive in the US especially in this segment I think is also another reason
Lovely detailed review. What struck me were two things: firstly this car is far too big for me; secondly this car is seriously complicated to operate with just too many things you might have to operate. I am not a fan of Tesla but I can see the point of their less is more attitude. Most of the time I really want to get into something I can power up and just go without having to programme anything. €62k euros? Really no. Just does not work with so much more fun to be had below €45k euros.
Kia & Hyundai design & quality have improved leaps & bound in the last 5 to 10 years. German & Japan car maker quality has declined …. BMW, Audi & Mercedes have to wake up
Hyundai and Kia are the reason why all European cars nowadays stopped offering independent suspension on the rear. I particularly dislike these 2 car brands
@@autogefuehl I will try Thomas. Great video by the way! It started with the Kia Cee'd and Hyundai i30, which were massively undercutting the likes of VW Golf, Ford Focus, Opel Astra on price. In order to be cheaper, they lacked driving dinamics and especially lacked rear independent suspension. Now, it wouldn't have been an issue, but they happen to have sold a lot of them, massively eating into Golf sale numbers. Now VW started noticing that in fact, consumers don't necessarily care about good driving dinamics, but care more about the price tag. So they started, slowly, eliminating rear independent suspension on certain models of VW Golf, to keep up. Next, it was Ford's turn, with the Focus, and so on. And next, VW started eliminating even more features that made the Golf so iconic and desirable. And it still is, in my opinion. And what do Hyundai and Kia do in the meantime? Rasing their prices and equipping their models with luxurious features. So I wish they simply wouldn't have come to Europe, as there wasn't any real benefit and now they cost about the same, if not more than a Golf or an Astra. If one wanted a budget hatch, there were the French, the Italians, the Spanish, as an alternative to the Golf. They also appear to be less reliable than European car manufacturers, recent consumer reports rank them in the lower half.
Very interesting, thanks for elaborating! Yeah indeed competition can sometimes lead to advantages for customers, but not in all cases. The ride quality is like I stated also the main difference between the Korean brands and the German brands
Mazda CX-80 is a brand new powertrain and already has problems with hybrid and transmission. Hyundai and Kia, while behind Toyota in hybrid development and reliability, are miles ahead as shown by the stronger sales.

Çok merak ettiğim bir konu var cevaplarsanız çok memnun olurum büyük araba firmaları eski model arabalarını tekrar birebir üretebilir mi
Why Sorento is 60k eur in Germany And 45k $ in USA?
US prices are excluding VAT, plus they sell lower trims in the US, but even that doesnt explain all the differences. Market is more competitive in the US especially in this segment I think is also another reason
Korea and the United States signed an FTA, so cars made in Korea are not subject to taxes when exported to the United States.
Please direct compare Skoda kodiaq how bad and noicy is chassis of Skoda vs this chassis used in Y2021 santafe, Kia and even in this face lift sorento
Hate the overall chrome, hate the silver thing in the rear window. How great the car would have looked without these....
please make Santa Fe hybrid review asap
we will !
Good feedback cheers!
We want a new Santa Fe.. 😊 Please 🙏😃
We will!
@@autogefuehl I can not wait 😃
A handsome car!! But I can only hope it’s a good one!!
Thomas, you definitely need to buy a new watch! How about when you hit 1 million subscribers you buy yourself a nice, manly Rolex? 🎉🎉🎉
Everyone (who buy’s an expensive watch) already has a Rolex. I see Thomas more as a Meistersinger guy. :)
@@carjunkyxl8018
I think he is more Omega man.
@@sonnysantino7849 Ah yes, very classy!
Watching the watch brands unfold here 😁
Proton please!!!
How tall are you? Sorento looks small beside you
stated in every interior Part: 1,89 m 6ft2
Im not impressed the engien sizes they are just too small for wuch an suv and aslo entry level car FWD why
The only thing that really bothers me with korean cars is all the beeping. It has beeps on everything.. I mean everything. It's really annoying.
Why was Thomas always 6'1 and lately he's 6'2 :D
Kia & Hyundai design & quality have improved leaps & bound in the last 5 to 10 years. German & Japan car maker quality has declined ….
BMW, Audi & Mercedes have to wake up
not bad car, but the thing is for 60k you can get a decent good condition 2nd hand x5
Insurance, Services, equipment, and especially seats in X 5 is very very cheap vs GT KIA Sorento, and new car is not used car after accident 😊
KIA much better value for money Especially comfort vise
X5 maintenance will be expensive, no warranty and possibly high mileage. Kia will have 7 year warranty and 0 km.
Great car. They need better engines and infotainment to compete with the Germans.
I'm sure Kia are listening 😆
This tested car is cheap trim, should test upper trim
The EV9 looks better to me.
Amazing car value for money ❤
Good car but almost same as old one.
Nice dash but I think old man's car.
Hyundai and Kia are the reason why all European cars nowadays stopped offering independent suspension on the rear. I particularly dislike these 2 car brands
Explain why?
Seems never had best car

Mazda CX-80 is better deal. More reliable likely and bigger.
Mazda CX-80 is a brand new powertrain and already has problems with hybrid and transmission. Hyundai and Kia, while behind Toyota in hybrid development and reliability, are miles ahead as shown by the stronger sales.
The front headlights are awful and the rest is just ok
I think the design language for kia headlight is for american market, imho
@@bukaneja I agree
