Have a brand new MS271 and can hardly start this thing. It is immediately flooded after using the choke with a cold start. Saw some video's on UA-cam and these instructions really help. But I am disappointed in Stihl unable to deliver an (expensive) chainsaw which start easily. BTW: I use the ready-to-use Stihl petrol product.

Just get straight to it man.

It would have been much more informative if you had done the coil clean, then tried to start, and then done the carb clean if that didnt work. That being said thanks anyway. I will try the carb first, being in the exact same situation. I have spark with clean correct plug and gap, good compression, clean intake filter, clean exhaust, no sign of carbon or scoring, and fresh fuel.

So what was the actual problem the coil or carb?

It wasn't the coil, he got a spark. He's like a dog chasing its tail, bless his heart. Carburetor is bad.

Keep the camera off your face and on to what you're talking about.
