Hope you enjoyed! Just remember the UK has a lot less padel players around (50,000 total I think), and the standard is a lot lower, so don't be too harsh on the lads with high rankings!
Had the pleasure of being coached by Gonzo at Smash padel in Bicester today ! What a great bloke and teacher !
Ethan Kick Smash is amazing. Try to get a video tutorial from him about how to make that Kick Smash with no power but a lot of Spin!!!!!
I don’t think he knows how he does it he’s just amazing at it🤣

Thanks for inviting me on your channel ! ❤
Thanks for playing bro congrats on the W😉
That's an impressive kicksmash!
Ewan! You're a legend mate. Well done on this fantastic, and more importantly composed, performance.
Thanks bro!!
You got a laugh out of me for some of the strengths/weaknesses ;)
Thanks for posting this! Interesting to hear your thinking and strategies in the voice over. I find it quite hard to know how to change strategies during a match when the one you’re using isn’t really working and you feel the score slipping away.
Sometimes the best for that is the simple strategy and go back to basics when struggling - if you go really solid and consistent when losing, you can slowly find yourself getting back into the game as the other team gets a bit impatient and just wants to win - then they feel the pressure of losing from a winning position
Seeing you struggle with Gonzo's serves makes me feel better. I faced half a basket of them and only got my racquet on a handful, never mind returning them
Haha🤣 it is a brutal serve
That was enjoyable to watch! Thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
I see you are using the ML10 Limited edition. Would be awesome to see a review of it 🔥
Nice video mate!!! Very entertaining!!! Hope to see you soon back in spain.
Thanks Jorge, yes I will visit soon
Great video
please do a review on dropshot brand rackets,I tried it once its unbelievable
Try going to the net to put pressure and close his angle when he is about to kicksmash. Instead of running sideway and giving him a lot of space for his ball to land and then go out. This is a strategy more for 1v1 games.
i would even suggest more to go to the back of the court since it's a slow kick smash, you can probably get it before it hits the wall, in this situation 1v1s, there is only a small space where he can hit it so you would probably be able to get at least a couple of them
lmao Ethan just kill you slowly with that slow smash it really is a joke. Really enjoyed this video and all playgames looking for more. Thanks Ewan
Great video !! I was wondering, why did you play those 1V1 on a 2V2 court instead on 1V1 court ?
I don’t have any singles courts near and also diagonal is better
Hey Ewan,
How are the rules when you play diagonal like this? Like, when is it 'out' when you hit the other side?
yeh so it is a cross court, but we play the second bounce rule, so if the second bounce of the ball is going to land "in" then you have to play it, so you can hit it on the other side, as long as the second bounce is coming "in".
You should invite Ethan to teach how to smash like that. It doesn't look like much power either. Perfect for ladies. 😅
BTW, well done Ewan! 👏🏼🎉
great idea - thanks a lot
Ask him who taught him that smash 😉 lots of topspin!
Very interesting. What are the rules for playing diogonal? Even though he hit on the wrong side of the line e got points.
If the second bounce is going in , you have to play it
Oh I do not miss Gonzo´s first serve!!! Is nice seeing you guys play! Ethan is a beast! Great quality content Ewan!
PS: I´m so glad you beat Gonzo.
PS 2: Why is he so tanned??? lol
hey mate! thanks for watching - we need a 1v1 next!
What racket did the last coach use?
Dropshot campa 2023
Thanks mate 💪🏻
Well played bro
As a former amateur tennis player my every instinct keeps telling me to just go for the backhand passing in the first games ahahahaha
great video ewan! what rank are u?
Thanks bro, last time I checked I was 72
Not too hard here in the UK to get high up haha
@@EverythingPadel why?
Not many players here so naturally standard is lower and less competition - you play few tournaments and get points easy
Why don‘t you play to the left side when your oponents are standing at the right side?
It’s cross court diagonal
Would be fun if the sport didnt milk you for R400 an hour+
Ahh yes I totally agree my fellow South African🤣
Kinda curious. What is your rank? You seem to be too good (Ma Sha' Allah) to just be a sports youtuber
Thanks bro - I’m #68
@@EverythingPadel ooh that's very good. Keep up the good work 💪🏻
Thank you bro will do
We need a 3rd game vs Jake
When’s he back from Spain😉
This doesn't make sense, if the guy is #110 in the world, he has the ability to return the ball to whatever section of the court he likes, during that footage there was countless opportunities where he could of just stuck it 4m away to you on your left or right and you would of been unable to do anything about it, yet he kept returning it directly at you?
And visa versa, 8/10 returns you had the ability to just put it in the bottom corner on the opposite side of the court?
Is this to purposely just maintain a rally?
110 in the UK - not the world 🤣 - and read the top comment I put
@@EverythingPadel apologies!! Still however I've been playing for a month and can return either side of the court and aim etc, you guys look awesome, surely you can stick one low on the opposite side of the court to the opponent?
No worries - and maybe you are just a natural bro
It’s only diagonal by the way if you mean the other side of the court - it’s “cross court” only - so only diagonal not down the line
@@EverythingPadel sorry I'm confused lol, essentially you guys are rallying your left and he's diagonally across on the right, until eventually your opponent will go from right to the left over the course of 3 or 4 shots as you slowly move him around etc......surely when your opponent is right side of the court and the left side is open, you can just return it 2-3 metres to the left and it's impossible to return that way?
It's almost as if there's an unspoken rule were people just keep returning back to there opponents position or slightly centre to keep a rally going or just play for net rather than the point?
When I play a little solo game with my friend they last a mere 10 seconds because once I have served, even if I move centre court he sticks in deep and long on a side of the court Im not near and it's near impossible to return or visa versa
