    Hope you enjoyed! Just remember the UK has a lot less padel players around (50,000 total I think), and the standard is a lot lower, so don't be too harsh on the lads with high rankings!

    Thanks for posting this! Interesting to hear your thinking and strategies in the voice over. I find it quite hard to know how to change strategies during a match when the one you’re using isn’t really working and you feel the score slipping away.

    • @EverythingPadel

      Sometimes the best for that is the simple strategy and go back to basics when struggling - if you go really solid and consistent when losing, you can slowly find yourself getting back into the game as the other team gets a bit impatient and just wants to win - then they feel the pressure of losing from a winning position

    Seeing you struggle with Gonzo's serves makes me feel better. I faced half a basket of them and only got my racquet on a handful, never mind returning them

    Try going to the net to put pressure and close his angle when he is about to kicksmash. Instead of running sideway and giving him a lot of space for his ball to land and then go out. This is a strategy more for 1v1 games.

    • @miguelcostenz
      @miguelcostenz 9 місяців тому

      i would even suggest more to go to the back of the court since it's a slow kick smash, you can probably get it before it hits the wall, in this situation 1v1s, there is only a small space where he can hit it so you would probably be able to get at least a couple of them

      I don’t have any singles courts near and also diagonal is better

  • @OOOOOOOKKKKKKK69
    @OOOOOOOKKKKKKK69 11 місяців тому

    Hey Ewan,
    How are the rules when you play diagonal like this? Like, when is it 'out' when you hit the other side?

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  11 місяців тому +1

      yeh so it is a cross court, but we play the second bounce rule, so if the second bounce of the ball is going to land "in" then you have to play it, so you can hit it on the other side, as long as the second bounce is coming "in".

  • @namrinb
    @namrinb 11 місяців тому +3

    This doesn't make sense, if the guy is #110 in the world, he has the ability to return the ball to whatever section of the court he likes, during that footage there was countless opportunities where he could of just stuck it 4m away to you on your left or right and you would of been unable to do anything about it, yet he kept returning it directly at you?
    And visa versa, 8/10 returns you had the ability to just put it in the bottom corner on the opposite side of the court?
    Is this to purposely just maintain a rally?

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  9 місяців тому

      110 in the UK - not the world 🤣 - and read the top comment I put

    • @jnr-k921
      @jnr-k921 9 місяців тому

      @@EverythingPadel apologies!! Still however I've been playing for a month and can return either side of the court and aim etc, you guys look awesome, surely you can stick one low on the opposite side of the court to the opponent?

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  9 місяців тому

      No worries - and maybe you are just a natural bro

    • @EverythingPadel
      @EverythingPadel  9 місяців тому

      It’s only diagonal by the way if you mean the other side of the court - it’s “cross court” only - so only diagonal not down the line

    • @jnr-k921
      @jnr-k921 9 місяців тому

      @@EverythingPadel sorry I'm confused lol, essentially you guys are rallying your left and he's diagonally across on the right, until eventually your opponent will go from right to the left over the course of 3 or 4 shots as you slowly move him around etc......surely when your opponent is right side of the court and the left side is open, you can just return it 2-3 metres to the left and it's impossible to return that way?
      It's almost as if there's an unspoken rule were people just keep returning back to there opponents position or slightly centre to keep a rally going or just play for net rather than the point?
      When I play a little solo game with my friend they last a mere 10 seconds because once I have served, even if I move centre court he sticks in deep and long on a side of the court Im not near and it's near impossible to return or visa versa
