Awww, thank you Faye. You are so kind. :-) I was worried about cutting them too. lol I just had to do it though. :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed it and like the outcome. Thank you for watching and thank you for commenting. :-) I appreciate it!
Laurie, I liked the art work as tags an hated to see u cut them, then u did the canvas an I was blown away, love it, love it, love it, you really have a gift, tfs. hugs, Bonnie
Hi Bonnie :-) Thank you so much. I must have been struggling with something that day because I remember I couldn't seem to like those cards so I cut them up. If I had left them over night I might have liked them the next day but I guess we will never know. lol I'm so glad you like how it turned out. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
Phew! I was agonizing with you over this process but the end result was worth it...just gorgeous! I also have projects with parts I like but not the whole thing. Thanks for the great idea...will use it to make a collage or two of my own.

I have been watching your videos and to me you’re an inspiration. I think you’re a great artist and designer. I have experimented and tried going out of my comfort zone. Watching this today... I love it when you keep going and don’t know if you’re done or not. When I create, I don’t know when to stop either. There’s always something to be added somewhere.
Hi Sandra :-) Thank you. :-) When I read "trooper" the song Super Trouper by Abba came into my head and it's been there since last night. lol Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
I love to see artsy peeps work like this, because I often do the same thing. It's just FUN, isn't it? I also enjoy your comments, or your honest personality, which can be a bit goofy, lol, just like I am! I enjoyed the video :)
Hi Liz :-) Oh yes, I'm all about the fun in art. If it's not fun, I don't want to do it. :-) I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you so much for watching and leaving a note. I appreciate it. :-)
This turned out great! You inspired my "inchie collage" a while back and now I think you've inspired me to do something else. I'm thinking of cutting up my finished coloring book pages and collaging them to a canvas.
Hi Cathy. :-) Thank you. I'm so glad I was helpful in inspiring you. :-) Your coloring book pages would look cool collaged on to a canvas. :-) Thanks so much for watching. Have a good day. :-)
Hey Laurie. I know you made this video a while back but I'm just now seeing it. So much for digging yourself a hole. You got out of it beautifully..........love the canvas. Just like the others have said...the four cards were great but your improv final piece is fantastic. Take care ~~rita
Thank you for turning the camera on. =) You had some cool pieces to work with. =) *LOL!* I love the goofy things you wrote. =) *LOL!* yeah, it IS a vicious cycle with the scraps. ;) It's neat your cards now look like file folders. =) The card with the "abc" on it's tab... is my favourite. And I LOVE the flower on the "Memories" one. =) Cool that you found that piece of wood. =) "Flubbergusted"... love that word. ;) *giggles* *LOL!* I didn't close my eyes, because I didn't want to miss anything. ;) But you're right... that IS a lot of green going on there. *giggles*. =) I'm sorry that you were feeling so frustrated and as if you had dug a hole for yourself... but yeah, taking a break, is a good idea. =) Cutting them up was the right decision, I think. =) I love your collage of the pieces. it's neat looking. =) I love the pink edge. =) Yeah, that's a great idea to use photos of sections of a piece of art, to make cards with. =) AWE, sweet photo of Baylee. =) You made it! ;) And you created something beautiful. =)
You are so welcome. :-) I write all kinds of goofy stuff on my art. Some of it I can't tell you guys about. lol Vicious scrap cycle. lol That's flabbergasted and disgusted put together I guess. lol Brave girl. lol I covered all that green up after all....even the sides. I just wasn't sure if I would need it painted or not. Oh well. lol I'm glad you like the pink edge. I did too. :-) Thanks Phoebe. :-)
;) *LOL!!!* Well, the goofy stuff you do share is fun. =) *nods*. I like it, Flabbergusted. works for me. ;) *giggles* Yeah, I was happy to see the green go away... but I'm sure I would still have loved it, had it stayed green. =) ;)
Hi Nancy. :-) Thank you very much. Well, the answer to your question is yes and no. lol Sometimes I just use what is closest at the time or whatever I haven't used in a while just so it isn't sitting there. Other times though, I do use a particular adhesive on purpose for a reason. Examples would be: If I am creating cards or adhering ephemera I might just use double sided tape. If I want to have a little time to move the item I will use the tape and also apply wet glue over it so it doesn't stick right away. Most of the time I just use a tacky glue and I like Aileens Tacky Glue because it seems to adhere pretty quick. If I want to be able to paint or write over something and be able to quickly remove what I have done before it dries I will apply Mod Podge or Decou-Page over my work. This way when I add pen or paint and I don't like it I can easily wipe it away and have a few seconds to play with it. Most of the time I can accomplish what I want to accomplish with just tacky glue and a sealer. Hope this helps. :-) Thank you for watching. :-)
It was around about this video that I first found you. Not sure which video it was, but it was one of the calendar "Today Is --" videos. This one popped up in my feed today and reminded me. They are just as awesome today as when you first made them.
Awww, thanks Terry. That was a while back wasn't it. :-) I'm glad you still enjoy it after all this time. And thank you for being here all this time too. I appreciate that very much. :-)
Thank you Lucia. :-) I might have liked the cards better if I had waited a day or two then looked at them again. You know how things can grow on you. lol Thanks so much for watching. :-)
Thanks for permission to work on index cards and piece things. I'm new to mixed media but am here because bright colors are my thing. Mount , photograph, print, make cards! Thanks for the idea.
I really love this. My brain is firing on all cylinders when I look at this. My eyes find so many interesting takes on this piece, almost like I can study it for hours and find something different each time. Terrific work, thanks for sharing!!
I love the Mean Streak pen. When you first write/color with it you have a short period of time that you can blend it a little. But once it dries it is permanent and that is one thing I love about it. Plus, it's just fun to use. :-) I got mine at an office supply store. :-)

How really fun, this was fun to watch! This turned out really great, but you know...they always do =) The cards would be terrific journaling cards, too. Very enjoyable to watch your process.
I enjoyed listening to you talk through this. Made me chuckle (not to be offensive)😀 So many times I feel lost. I'll have to try your cut it up collage. Thanks.
I love this piece overall. Curious though why you painted the canvas first when none of the green color shows through. I'm sure the base needs something to cover it before adding the cards, but what? Thank you.
Thanks Claire. :-) Honestly, it's been so long since this video I don't remember my thought process. I would have to watch the video. I'll take a stab at what I think I might have been thinking. At the point I decided to cover the canvas with the card pieces I don't think I knew for sure if I would be able to cover the canvas entirely or if I even wanted to cover the entire canvas. In most cases I will go ahead and give a canvas some paint in case I leave some of it exposed on purpose or in case some shows through once I have done whatever I am going to do. Sometimes it will trigger another thought and I'll change directions again and do something different than what I was about to do. Most of the time when I create I have no idea what I'll wind up with even if I start out with a "plan" which usually I don't. So, each step is just a thinking process of getting me to the end of my "journey" on that project. I may wind up with something that doesn't get seen in the end and I'm ok with that. It was a "process"...a "journey"...like stepping stones. Other than that...I can't say why I did it. lol I just don't remember. lol Thanks for watching. :-)
@@BlackbearyForest Thank You! I have just recently started watching your videos. I didn't realize this was an early one. I'm a fan. I think a good motto would be "Show No Fear". Fear of failure is what holds me back. That needs to change.
You are so welcome. :-) Thank YOU for taking the time to watch and I'm glad you have joined me here. :-) Oh gosh...I know that feeling so well. I think the more I just "do" the less afraid I am. :-) Love your motto. :-)
@@clairehampton986 That's what's so great about playing with scraps and leftovers. They aren't "precious" in the same way that our stickers, fancy papers, sequins and beads can be. And if you hate the result, no problem! That project can be turned into scraps for the next one! 😁
Thank you Kathleen. :-) Yes, the cards were sealed before they were put on the wood because I was planning to leave them as cards. You don't have to seal them first. I usually seal a project when I am at a point I want to be able to wipe off any mistakes more easily also. When I use Mod Podge or Deco Page to glue things to a page it seals at the same time too so I do a lot of sealing even if the piece really doesn't need it yet. Thanks for watching. :-)
I love this, i must admit that when you cut your favourite one in half, i actually said "Oh!!!!!'...... turned out gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your process.
You are very welcome Peggy. Some of my older videos are a bit faster than I do now because I was learning. Still learning. :-) But I try to do better as I go. I hope you can watch easier now. :-)
When you said you were going to cut them up I said OH NO! I loved them all just as they were, but it turned out beautiful after all!! I really missed this video, must have been while my internet was off. I just had too much going on at that time. This really is so pretty, I wish it was mine!
Hey Donna :-) I know...it was a brave moment. lol I understand too much going on and missing out on stuff. There are many videos I have not watched because I was just too busy and now that I am doing more creating I can't watch them because that is time I would rather be creating. I catch them when I can. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and like how it turned out too. :-) Also, I would you feel comfortable allowing me to have a mailing address? Don't post it here though, email me privately. If not, I totally understand. :-) Thanks for watching. :-)
Great that was fast! I would quit face book but I do have some real friends there. Though I've been tempted before and have taken breaks from it. But now the bad ones are gone out of my life it's much better! You sure do have to be careful who you friend there.
Ughhh!! I love this so much!! lol thank you for sharing this. really. this entire process was/is the story of my life!! haha. except I dont go that extra mile and get it to a place of reinventing it and making it even better than the initial piece. I absolutely adore this!!! and I can even relate to the 'foot in mouth' conversations that make you just want to crawl in a hole 🙊😊 thanks again for sharing. I will most definitley be putting this into practice ❤❤❤
Thanks so much JPA :-) I am so glad you enjoyed it. I try to keep my foot out of my mouth but there are times ya know? lol Thanks so much for watching and leaving such a kind comment. :-)
I love how it turned out Laurie - that was such a great idea to cut them up and create that canvas with the pieces! They all look so good together like that! Gorgeous pic of Baylee too! Tfs Hugs, Ginny xo :o)
Thank you Judith. I edited out a big part of the video where I was fussing about my irritation with this project. lol I kept thinking...what is the big deal??? It's scraps, and paint and index cards. How horrible is it to cut all that up? lol I don't know why it's easy to get "hung up" on some projects and others are so smooth but it worked out and I was happy in the end. lol Thanks so much for watching. I appreciate it. :-)
It's been quite a few years since I bought it so I don't remember the sellers name but I'm pretty sure I got it off of Etsy and it came in a pack of various sizes. But I think when I looked for it I used the search phrase "sequin waste".
Can we say AdOrAbLe?!?! Lovvve these! I am such a control freak ..I so wish I could be so carefree with my scraps and make something so amazing like this! I really love it! May I ask where you got your stickers ?
Thank you very much Mary. :-) I really can't remember where I got the stickers because it has been so long. If I were to guess I would say Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I think some came from a store I used to frequent when I lived in Gatlinburg years ago as well. I'm sorry I can't be specific.
Yes, there is but the one I have had experience with is not like the black and white gesso. It has more texture and a gritty feel to it. Some people don't like that. It doesn't bother me. :-)
Hi and welcome to my channel. I'm so glad you found me through Shemi. She is such a kind person. And Baylee always wins over me or my art. I'm used to it. lol I love my little beagle. In earlier videos my little boy beagle was always snoring. His name was Buster. He was my little sweetheart. He passed away two years ago. I miss his so much. He and Baylee were buddies. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
Awww . . . I know what it's like to say goodbye to a special dog. It's the hardest thing. I've had lots of dogs, but my beagle-boy Buddy (my first & only beagle right now, whom I got 2 years ago) is the source of a lot of snuggles and A LOT of laughter! My brother just adopted a 7 YO rescue and is SMITTEN. First dog ever. He's one of US, now! :-)
Awwww, so you have a sweet beagle too. They are definitely snuggly and comical. Buster was a little comedian. Baylee is more serious but does such cute stuff. She didn't even bark until she was 9 years old. She does not arooooo like Buster. His feet would come off the ground when he arooooo'd. lol Baylee does a cute bark'ish sound. I keep hoping she will aroooo one day. She is laying next to me right now snoring away. Just love her. :-) It's just so hard to resist a beagle. :-) Give Buddy some pets for me. :-)
You can happen mail them to me!!! I adore all of them! they are Excentric, Eclectic, groovy, Boss, far out.. more.... Rembrandt would be envious!!! 😁🙃🎨💞💞💞💞💞😘🤗🌹
Hi Kathryn. I will see if I can figure it out and turn them on. I did just change a setting on this video that might help but I can't verify it. Please let me know if this helped and solved your problem. Thanks so much. :-)
You have probably already re-loaded your page. If that didn't work, try closing your browser and re-opening the video again. Sometimes your computer will cache old content. I will check the settings again on my end too.
I really liked the way this little crazy quilt, colorful collage turned out, what a fun happy piece
Thanks Dawn. :-)
I love that section with the big black dots and the white writing. I like the flowers too. They're all so different, but really cute.
That turned out to be my favorite section too. Thanks Lori :-)
I really love this piece of art...Very nice I love the colors and combination of all the textures. Awesome work!

Awesome!! what great ideas!!!
Thank you Jean. So glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching. :-)
I love the one with gauze!
Thank you. :-) I appreciate you watching. :-)
I like this very much after you cut it up...did you seal the cards before you put them on the wood??
Thank you Kathleen. :-) Yes, the cards were sealed before they were put on the wood because I was planning to leave them as cards. You don't have to seal them first. I usually seal a project when I am at a point I want to be able to wipe off any mistakes more easily also. When I use Mod Podge or Deco Page to glue things to a page it seals at the same time too so I do a lot of sealing even if the piece really doesn't need it yet. Thanks for watching. :-)
love those cards the way they were.
Thank you Judith. Thank you for watching, :-)
Not only do you need the scraps, you need the imagination! That's what your work/play gives me. :-) Ideas!
Hi Phyllis :-) Thank you! I'm so glad you feel inspired. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. I appreciate it. :-)
I love this, i must admit that when you cut your favourite one in half, i actually said "Oh!!!!!'...... turned out gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your process.
Thanks so much Selina :-)
I really like how that turnt out hun great job and thank you for shareing 🌻😁
Thank you Billie Jo :-)
Oh thank you for info on speed icon, I did not know this 🤗, now I can watch your video 😘🤓
You are very welcome Peggy. Some of my older videos are a bit faster than I do now because I was learning. Still learning. :-) But I try to do better as I go. I hope you can watch easier now. :-)
Love your canvas sweet Laurie
Thank you Sylvia :-) I'm glad you like it. :-) Have a wonderful week. :-)
I so have to make some of these cards they're awesome thank you Laurie for another fabulous video
Thank you Shemi. I am so glad you enjoyed it.
I will need your email. Are you on face book? I could pm you.
I don't mind, I will email you!
Thanks Donna. I got your email. :-) I don't use FB anymore. I quit about a year ago. :-)
Great that was fast! I would quit face book but I do have some real friends there. Though I've been tempted before and have taken breaks from it. But now the bad ones are gone out of my life it's much better! You sure do have to be careful who you friend there.
Love your project, Laurie! IKR?! Those scraps just multiply all on their own!! :D
Thanks Cathy :-) Oh gosh do they. I'm almost grateful when I have to finally throw something away. lol
LOL 😂
The finish came out pretty
Thank you very much Eva :-)
Turned out great!
Thanks Gabby. :-) Thank you for watching and leaving a note. I appreciate it. :-)
Hi Laurie...did you use index cards to glue the scraps on or something else?
Hey Eileen :-) Yes, I used index cards to adhere the scraps to. :-)
wow did i enjoy watching this !!!!!
Hi Janet :-) Thank you. I am so glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a note. :-)
What a fun project! Love it! ❤️
Thanks Gayle. I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :-) Have a wonderful week and thank you for watching. :-)
These came out great!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. :-)
Great use of scraps!
Thank you Marianne. :-)
I love how it turned out Laurie - that was such a great idea to cut them up and create that canvas with the pieces! They all look so good together like that! Gorgeous pic of Baylee too!
Tfs Hugs, Ginny xo :o)
Thank you Ginny :-)
It really took guts to cut this up but it looks just fabulous.
Stunning!
Thank you Yvette :-) Thank you for watching, :-)
These are wonderful !
Thanks Heidi :-)
love how this turned out at first when you said you were going to cut it I said ooh no but it looks great 😊
Thank you Debra. I was not so sure about cutting them either. lol Thanks so much for watching. :-)
Love very your idea to cut up.??nbutbi see a whole new art jj idea!!!!🤐🤗😁🌹
Wow! You use a lot of layers. I like my collages simpler.
Kathy B.
P. S. I never thought about using index cards as a base.
same here. wow! wow! wow! beautiful!
Thanks so much Kim. :-)
I like it a lot. It was fun to see some of the bits from your winning box in my giveaway. Give Baylee a kiss from me. Peace
Thanks Cathy. :-) I have enjoyed using items from that box. I have more to do too. :-) I sure will. Have a great weekend. :-)
Where did you get the tiny punchenella?
Didn't know there was clear gesso! DOH!
Yes, there is but the one I have had experience with is not like the black and white gesso. It has more texture and a gritty feel to it. Some people don't like that. It doesn't bother me. :-)
I found you via Shemi Dixon. New subbie! LOVE your art work but then I saw your SWEET beagle!
Beagles are just the BEST! :-)
I second that! :-)
Can I ask what you sealed them with?
Hi Careen. :-) In this project I used "Deco Page". Any sealer would be fine though. Thank you for watching. :-)
Decou-Page

Can you turn the subtitles on please?
Hi Kathryn. I will see if I can figure it out and turn them on. I did just change a setting on this video that might help but I can't verify it. Please let me know if this helped and solved your problem. Thanks so much. :-)
I checked my settings on this video and they should be on now. :-)
Laurie Richardson Haley maybe it takes a bit, as it's not coming up
You have probably already re-loaded your page. If that didn't work, try closing your browser and re-opening the video again. Sometimes your computer will cache old content. I will check the settings again on my end too.
I did that, tried from my phone and the laptop. Not sure why it's not showing up. Thanks for checking.
awesome like like
Thanks so much Donna :-) I appreciate you watching. :-)
I'm am angry with you! You did not lay down their "puzzle". But it is your choice. But the idea is excellent. Therefore thumbs up!
Uh oh....lol Thanks Victor. :-)
LOL
:-) :-) :-)
Could not watch, you sped up too much n hurt my eyes 😫👀
On the video is a gear icon. You can change the speed of the video to slower or faster. Maybe that will help. :-)
