3:30 weirdly enough, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald all have the functionality of the day and night cycle baked into their games. The cartridges all possess batteries inside them that are designated to solely track the time within the game; it's the entire reason you set the clock in the bedroom at the beginning. It almost solely exists for Espeon/Umbreon evolutions and provides zero in-game differences or exclusive day/night pokemon encounters. It was always strange how they created a day and night cycle that functions just fine only to just ... not use it outside of Eevee evolutions.
@ idk how I forgot about that lol but the point does still stand that the day night cycle is baked into the game; it just isn’t used for some reason outside of berries and Espeon/Umbreon evolutions.
Gameboy had amazing games that i remember, the father handed me pokemon fire red, Wario Land, and some old tarzan game i really loved. i miss Wario land the most though, since it was my most played
I was young when RBY came out, I played them but I was almost a bit too young to get the greater concepts. GSC came out and I really started to learn the mechanics. When Fr/Lg came out, it was perfect timing, I was in my peak of Pokemon obsession and got to try that Gen 1 again with more updated mechanics. I got sooo into Gen 3. Gold/Crystal was still my favorite region and story.
May was just a sister, that's why she was so relateable! Gen 1 wasn't the best. People just can't count past Pikachu and Charizard! GSC era had the most "natural" pokemon. They really reimagined the worlds forces of nature around this time and solidified the series as a real world! Nowadays, there are so many aliens and mythical creatures that the fabrics of reality no longer hold consistency but sure enough, one day, we will see the other side!
i think pokemon on DS was abit better. i mean, gen 4 like platinum , gen 2 remakes- the best games, black and white (last real real good generation after my opinion, white 2 and black 2. did i miss something?
In the OG red and blue you could choose genders and Pokemon's had gender. Idk what kind of glue you've been sniffing but clearly you haven't done enough research
Pokémon LeafGreen was my first Pokémon game.
Such a good game :D
Same!
Same
Me too
Near the same, the other version "Firered" !
But the 2 are very good !
Gen 3 was a fun era.
Your videos are really informative, been watching a bunch over the last few days; thanks man 💪🏼

One of the best parts of my childhood I still have my same save file on sapphire, my first game
I remember playing pokemon fire red and Ruby all the day on early 2010s
I’m doing a run through of fire red with bulbasour psyduck and growlith as my main 3.
Me: sees Pokemon emerald
Also me: Go... Team... Sky 😅
Thank god wally got his justice for the characterizations he went through, he was wayyy more distinct
Your videos are so good to listen too on the side, please keep it up! Top 3 Poke tubers without a shadow of a doubt, to me.
My favorite part of the mystery dungeon games was the soundtracks.

this video is making me want to play FRLG and Emerald when I’m trying to focus on HGSS.
The only Pokemon games I've owned for the GBA are FireRed and Red Rescue Team.
Very good ere. My 1st fav ere of Pokémon. Love colors names and sad after they quite.

I just use emulators to play the classics ❤️
That’s pretty cool… just keep a secret from Nintendo
too bad lucario wasn’t invented during the gba era. My fav Pokemon
Lol I played Leafgreen too because of Bellsprout.
The realtime day/night cycle was dropped because it annihilated the game's battery. How is this still not understood?

The first game you can select a gender is Crystal. Then it was added to all later games from that point. :D
