The issue is the servers here if they wouldn’t be needed then we could say make it a one time payment.. Infrastructure isn’t cheap. Also there are people still developing features for it.
Great review! Thx for the info on opening high speed comp on the shock and slowing fork rebound. Do you know from where these changes should be made? Manual has Comfort, Standard and Sport recommended settings. I presume you guys rode in Standard or possibly Sport. Lmk
It’s on the dirt bikes actually not as expensive as that can happen often? Or do you mean the GNSS Unit that is probably a bit more but i doubt it’s as easy to break.
@@Roostfactor1 The unit isn’t uni body with the fender there is a screw a single that holds the black frame in place. (Only visible from the underside of the Fender) So if you destroy your fender it’s not as problematic the unit will probably fly out of its holder fender before it’s actually getting damaged. As the cable is basically rated to be able to withstand this.
@@Andy-co6pnYes. I think even KTM and Gasgas and of crouse, the Yamaha YZ 250 and 125. I wish Honda would bring back the CR, Kawasaki the KX and Suzuki the RM and go back to the old rules. 250 two strokes and 450 four strokes and 125 two strokes and 250 four strokes.
I remember when people complained about a rebound adjustment was added to shocks. Adjusting suspension and motor is like being on a factory team in the old days. Use to have to deal with a motor company and a suspension company. Multiple shipments back and forth. Then you had to count on a friends for track advise for the fastest line. Technology can be good.
The biggest issue for the engine adjustment is that people feel they lost something as it’s not directly doable on the motorcycle but it can for sure be added in some ways there is just no simple interface for advanced adjustments possible.
We can make it one time payment for 15 years that’s 2000$. Would you prefer that? It sadly can’t be cheap as there is infrastructure needed for the hosting of your rides + rankings and map settings.
The air forks are the reason i will never buy another KTM. Those things suck so fucking bad. I put cartridge on my ktm and gave it to my son and bought a sherco for myself. Unbelievable how shitty they are
All Great out the door 14 Grand. The sport I love since 1975 is way over priced. I'm now 60. I still buy Beta and Huskys. I can afford them. 18 to 20. HTFDYDT
All the people saying bikes are so overpriced have to remember that there are mountain bikes that cost the same price. Ya it sucks bikes are 10k now but that’s what happens when a McDonalds burger flipper makes 15 a hour.
Yeah if one doesn’t want to employ slave labor the price is a thought thing. Probably a reason why stuff will go more to PRC as people don’t get the concept that there are people behind this.
I don't think humans were meant to interact with technology so much. I much prefer to keep it simple when I go to the track and air fork pressures and mapping are a little too much to deal with everytime
So you’d like something that would learn from your rides and make the settings for you? There will likel be options todo the stuff on the motorcycle directly too.
I guess they're more forgiving and supposed to be easier to break in. My friend that I practice with has one on order and say's KTM has tried to knock down that super long break in period. I rode his 23 when it was new and they do feel like a chunk of concrete at first. I know he was irritated with both the 22 and 23 models...a lot of racers are, or I should say local 450 A guys I've heard complain.
The frames are identical aside from paint. Before this generation the subframes differed but that’s no longer the case. Slightly lowered suspension from the Husky to KTM (only on the MX models) and one has a closed off air box but break-in frame-wise would be the same.
The nice thing about being able to adjust the engine braking is that you get rid of that early drag that they had before. You can take it to zero and it feels like it’s fully broken in.
Hmm that part costs 233 as a kit? Most of the rest on the motorcycle is more expensive but i get what you mean i guess you would like to see higher quality and less price. But i doubt that you work in a company that gives high end parts to the customer for free.
Riding has become far too expensive this day and age and it's only getting worse. 5 years from now most people will have to get a loan just to ride one. Pretty sad.
Is there any way to have less Bruce Marada and more Ping? I found this video fairly uninformative about the bike itself. Sure, talk about the changes, features, tech, but ultimately, I want to know how it felt on the track. Also, this Bruce guy ruins the rider meeting/sight lap segments too, they are just boring and lack any true insight, I enjoyed it better with the ex/current pro's. Not sure whether Bruce brings sponsorship money to the table to get on the channel? However, I might skip Whiskey Throttle content that involves the Marada. Good luck though.
Ping I am losing all respect for you. Now it's all about marketing the latest crap. Underhandedly calling riders who don't want to ride a video game "old" or "lacking technology skills".
You realise that you dont have to pay for the subscription. The subscription is just for the lap times and data tracking. The engine mapping adjustment comes with the bike no subscription needed
@mikepalmer2219 the injectors and throttle aren't subscription based, you can still ride it. If you want to know how many times you shifted or what percent throttle you used, $70 a YEAR for a *checks notes* $15,000 dirt bike is a penny in the bucket
Thanks for keeping us up to date Ping !
Bruce RIPS! Damn.
Spring forks would be better
Probably can be an option. Is way less adjustable though and also the wear is better with the air forks.
what is the best way to remove the stuff that's burnt on the header pipe
Scotch bright and wd-40
Of course they lock features behind a subscription. Following the way of the auto industry. Such a bummer they do this crap

Wonder how much it will cost to replace the front fender when it breaks.
