      ​@@edi9892 70# is a lot to handle no regular joe can do this. Also, compound bows did not exist in medieval times as you put it. I think you are referring to the recurve bow and recurve bows are much harder than compound bows.

      For climbing you want a more targeted exercise, like hang board or campus wall. You don't see a lot of big easy jug style holds one you're making progress into difficult grades.

    I remember when i was doing the tough mudder race and lost my grip for my right hand but my fear of falling in water allowed me to hang with 1 hand. Never been able to do it for as long as that one time lol. I even did a 1 arm pullup to get my other hand back up. Fun times.

    What I wanna know is what I can do for my kids while they are little to help them maintain the childlike grip strength and other things we lose as they get older without hurting them. We already use wide toe box shoes and check to make sure no toes are squished and my two year old (oldest) and I do yoga in the mornings. Light yoga and balance practice but even still.

    I use towels, rollers or even cue balls for three sets of three minutes after three sets of 90 pullups because it helps when mountain climbing. Plus it's a great way to end a workout.

    I don't claim expertise, but I know one's weight plays a part in hanging and doing pullups. As a child when I only weighed 30-40 pounds it was much, much easier. Also consider that the strongest strong men can only do a few pullups. I imagine this is because they weigh around 400 pounds.

    Every time I watch American Ninja Warrior, I reminisce the grip strength I had as a kid on the monkey bars. My mum hit me for being on those as she was afraid I would fall and "crack my skull". It wasnt becoming of a girl. I will try this protocol as I really want to do that monkey alternating transfer from bar to bar again. 😅

    I honestly didn't know monkeybars was an issue for ao many people. I've been swinging in them with easy ever since I was a kid. Im 200 lbs+. In my experience just doing any weightlifting and not using straps when you dont have to is good enough to keep this skill alive

    I don't need any special training for this, my forearms are always trained the hardest and in need of recovery, because I do extremely high volume workouts with dumbbells that last at least an hour or more. By the time I finally unclench my hand from the dumbbell the forearms have been gripping on for an insanely long time. I do the same for machines and many other things. My forearms are always more sore than everything else.

    this even more made me proud of being capable doing not only one arm hang but also being able to almost do a pull up with 27 kilos, when i weight 64 kilos (20m). i guess mma and past 7 years of doing various stupid things really paid off. but to be fair, i hardly can do any muscle up.

    I remember I used to do laps on the monkey bar when I was 10-14 in my school yard. I was skinny, which also meant I didn't have any strength, so I am now amazed I was able to do it so easily. At first I practiced for just a few days and in a few weeks boom! I could just play around it. Today my grip is letting me down when I do pull-ups. I will definitely use the tips shown here to improve my grip. Thanks man!

    I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. I'm having shoulder problems right now. Been going HAM on the rotator cuff. I try to avoid all injuries all the time. I'm the type that I'm not gonna risk a strange shoulder injury by swinging out like that. She's a real one, cus I would've been outta there and had to jump back up 😂

    It’s weird when you see someone on camera getting praised for something you can do in your sleep yet nobody acknowledges that you have skill but they will acknowledge others with less. It’s definitely cause she’s a girl and girls get WAY more positive attention than men.       I had the same problem I spent all my time playing video games indoors but over the last 3 years I have become great at climbing, pull ups, and hanging. It's never too late to become your best self!

    I do 1.5+ minutes. After working with extra weights it gets easier to hold the bar. Try adding some weight after you reach to 1 minute then the rest is easy

    Me as a climber starting doing one arm hangs as training. When I first tried it, I did 20 seconds right, 15 seconds left. Started adding it in because it's meant to be great for shoulder stability and rotator cuffs, and I've had long head of bicep tendonitis for a while.
    Currently off from climbing and exercise in general due to surgery (unrelated).
    To clarify, I weigh about 76kgs or 170lbs
