      @@b_rabbit435 I agree, Magnus was a beast and basically ahead of everyone else at the time. He was the last to certify on a #4 without the credit card rule. The Rolling Thunder world record has been surpassed and with the new rule in place + smoother knurling on the gripper itself, certing on a 4 is much more difficult these days. Have you heard of Carl Myerscough? He recently certified on a COC 4 AND GHP10 which is insane. To my knowledge he hasn't been tested on a dynamometer but I would think he would be in the upper percentile with a few practice pulls. Nikita recently pulled 172+kg now. That is a very solid achievement. He's also the 2nd person ever to cert on the CTD+ challenge which is quite difficult + I believe he held the WR for rolling thunder pullups. Frank Jacintho could tear 3 US quarters at once into 6 pieces, tear apart a US quarter into 3 pieces with the middle piece falling to the ground, etc. Frank was featured tearing a US quarter into two, quarter after quarter, on a late September 1982 episode of ABC's "That's Incredible". Frank was able to tighten and loosen lug nuts on trucks, carry a whole cane hauler wheel into the shop for repair ... instead of using the fork life (!), etc.

Anything over 90kgs is an extremely good pull likely 1 in 500+ people when tested in a randomized sample of men. You can never guess what a person's grip is by just looking at someone and that's the beauty of grip sport! Many people have trained their grips without knowing it whether they have broken loose lug nuts at their dads mechanic shop when they were younger or they work with their hands in their day to day job. Truly, 80kgs is a very strong pull. People who begin their grip training journey usually see the numbers rise quickly which is what makes grip so cool. More to say! Awesome video. @Joel-McConnell Good job, sir. Very respectable scores. Age is not necessarily a huge determining factor, at least from what I have researched, in holding anyone back from being super strong for grip. Odd Haugen is a great example. He holds several World records to this day, competing with 20 year olds and still lifting more (usually on the Rolling thunder or similar). He is well into his 70s. Now don't get me wrong, if there are underlying health issues then grip strength can start diminishing. You are only 58! That is not old by today's standards. Also, the strongest grip in the world in my opinion is Carl Myerscough and he is nearly 50. Use it or lose it. You have heard this many times. Go out and buy some inexpensive grippers and other grip equipment and I guarantee that your dyno scores will go back up, if you care. But please don't use age as an excuse. 😊

I am not interested in wasting what time I have left on this planet training my grip, other things to be done with that time and limited energy before it is all gone along with my grip anyway. I use my gripper when I am watching armwrestling events and that is about the extent of my training to try and maintain what I have left, it does help to maintain it some but again other more import things to be worried about. @@Ryan-wx1biHello. I am not known as a liar. I can show you scans of my two metacarpal broken in the right hand several months prior. My right hand was always about 1.5x stronger than left. The reason the results were so close between my two hands is because I was still in the recovery phase during the filming. A few months later, after plenty of training, I am at nearly 100kg now and back to full stength. 96.6kg is my highest peak performance that I have a photo of. I'd be happy to do a 90+kg pull on video if anyone wants to challenge me. Already did a CoC 2.5 close on my channel but people still criticize. It's easy to sit behind the computer (or likely on your phone) and pass judgement, but you will not always be correct. 🫵🏻

      @@Ryan-wx1bi I have never been a liar about anything. I can show you scans of my two broken metacarpal in my dominant hand just months before the video. Anyhow, I responded to most of your comments and challenges by immediately posting a 2.5 CoC close on my channel if you care to look. My right hand had been approximately 1.5x stronger than my left at my peak before the break, which explains similar figures during the healing phase. I am now hitting 98.35kg on my hand dynamometer with right and 93.75kg with left (with low testosterone), after a few months of training both hands. Those figures will improve when I get testosterone therapy, hopefully soon.

    • @degradated
      @degradated 5 місяців тому

      @@Ryan-wx1bi Hello there Ryan, I am a truth teller/seeker, no reason to BS. To explain the quandary you proposed, at the time of this filming, my dominant hand was still recovering while my left was "average" at the time. My right hand was always about 1.5 times stronger (until the break), which is why you see essentially the same results between the two pulls. After this clip was posted (and I caught a ton of flack), I have taken my training a lot more seriously and I am squeezing slightly over 100 kg in either hand fairly consistently. I have some content on my channel if you care to take a moment to look. So the lesson learned here is not to make assumptions about somebody you know nothing about. I know in my heart what to be true (and have empirical data for proof), so if you'd like to continue to belittle/insult me, be my guest. I try to be nice to other people. Karma can go a long way. 💯❤️

    Honestly, I think my grip is pretty solid, so I am quite impressed by everyone who hit 80+ on that thing. Some of those guys were like a 100 pounds lighter than me. Larry definitely attracted a strong crowd. Many of my friends who are physically active were around the 45-55 kg mark, which I believe to be around average for a healthy 25-40 year old man.
    EDIT: My friend adjusted the handle and I tried it again. Scored 87 kilograms.

Did you only try the Baseline once? I would expect closer to 130kg+ if you can CCS a 3.5. There are a few guys on the GM-150 list that squeeze much higher than that but are only certified on a CoC 3. It gets funnier every time Larry shows us the result of the grip as the camera can't catch it 😂

    Strong crowd! I’ve done some grip specific training for a few months now and my personal best so far is 72kg. I’d like to reach 80kg+ like some of these guys.

      @losttracks2 72kg is very respectable. I did 63kg in Larry's video, but after about two months of solid training with the same Baseline dynamometer, Ironmind rolling thunder, pinch hub and grippers I peaked a few weeks ago at 96.6kg. haven't been able to surpass it yet but I'm telling you, massive gains are possible within a short timeframe. 👍🏻

      @@Losttracks2 I took advantage of one of their sales. Black Friday might be a good time to get some stuff. That Baseline BIMS dynamometer is $126 Amazon prime right now. Well worth it - nice piece of equipment. Good luck in your grip training journey! 👊🏻
