This one melted but the other one didn’t. Which is why he left the others in, to see how they go. This melted one actually ejected itself from the head the first time the motor was run. There was damage to the injector bore and it all happened in a split second, but it fried the injector seal so things got hot real quick. We have all seen popadakis b58 who had the same issue but again at much higher cylinder pressures. Dan wanted to see at what power levels it is an issue. However it’s been over 12 months see the other injectors were inspected. He will start offering his injector plugs as well soon.
If you can count on something to fail on a clutch kick it’ll be the outer cv bearing cage. Love seeing you boys work through this Andrew. Great to have you back on UA-cam

Yeah, Dan invested a lot of time in to another aftermarket tcu option and it just wasn't quite right, so he is very surprised how fast we have progressed with the lamik and how well its working. It was only the axle and they were original axles that have been put through thier paces over the last year anyway. So not a complete shock when it did it. But now we need to make sure it wont do it again.
Papdakis went over this already on his B58 build, he had the DI injectors turned off but still plugged in the head. He ran into problems where the DI injector would melt, and or explode! So he used metal plugs to plug the DI injector holes. Hasn’t had any problems since.
Do you plan to do any future videos how to fine tune the Lamik controller? Currently using the Lamik on a MS41 E39528i turbo set up and 8hp70 swap with throttle cable and it feels great!
Any way to help get a parts list for the zf8hp clutch system? Would love to see a kit offered. I'd be interested in getting something like this rolling in the US
my shift cut on the maxxecu sounds BRUTAL when i rip through the gears. it makes fire. ive got the same shifter dan has on my 8hp setup. i have absolutely no need for the foot clutch but damnit i want one now. lol dan was way off 450hp. it was damn near 520whp .. that means when it was manual it was about 535 wheel. lol pro tip for the di delete, use 3/8 npt plugs and locktite the threads. weve done two so far and one sees 40 psi regularly.
Dude, i read your email but i have so much going on in the background i am so far behind i know i havent replied yet, i am sorry. Dan knew it was capable of this sort of power, however he wound the boost down for a wet weather event. The other "thing" old power was done on the dynodynamic roller, where the hub is a bit more accurate over the 500whp mark.
I don’t however editing the isn data involved a $1000usd china tool. So I imagine completely removing the data will need an expensive tool. Just go stand alone and di delete….. 😜

I haven’t looked in to any stand alones, I imagine they are equally as expensive plus the cost of the manifold and injectors. For now I’m going to put this used 6 speed auto in it and I want to have an upgrade path. I mainly just want to get the n54 swapped and driving for now and just run basic mhd ots tunes suited for the current bolt ons I have to go with the swap. Sometimes you find good deals tho, have a buddy who works at a self pull salvage yard told me about a 335i that came in the guy said it was blown up and had to move on short notice. I got Vargas upgraded inlets and outlets, two fresh factory turbos, what looked to be a newer water pump and thermostat, 6 index 1 injectors, an injen intake, a hpfp, and an engine/trans wire harness, the throttle pedal and pig tale, catless down pipes, a sport e90 steering wheel with pads shifters, and an e60 shift lever for $130 bucks! I pulled an n54 from a wrecked car out there last year and when put my jump pack to it the dash showed like 104k miles, so it’s a pretty safe bet that engine runs fine and I got that for $300. Going back tomorrow for the transmission for $130 and I’m going to give them a broken getrag 5 speed for my core. I guess it’s not the end of the world to get a dme/key/cas to make the eBay conversion wire harness work I could just put the key in the glove box. I’m also looking to upgrade to the 210mm diff as I’m convinced another 188mm won’t hold up, I broke the lsd in it I currently have with the gutless n/a m50 🥴

I was thinking while watching the video, I was wondering how well Dan's car would go down the strip with the 8HP70 since the power output is the same as mine was when I did 10.77s. The only issue would be the launch and then at the end of the video, something breaks on launching in the driveway. With a good launch and the 8spd, I reckon it would do mid 10s. i
Yeah man i can't wait to see it rip. This is a lot of power for the chassis. The way the 8hp maintains the torque and power band should make it a real weapon. And yes spot it. Axle left the chat pretty quickly.

@@hevendranarayansamy2793 Its kind of irrelavant in this as a e46 didnt have a cas or EKP and a motor doesnt need either to work. However you will like what i planned for later in the week. Its a stand alone setup for e9x e8x chassis.
I watched the latest episode yesterday and could have been 3rd comment 😅 i watched the video in awe and the 560hp is really strong in the e46 oh my, even 300hp are a big number in an e46...but the ending was kinda sad😅 i hope you can fix it in time and the 8hp will go on in the car and not be ditched in favor of manual😁 I can't wait for the next episode btw! Oh and a very interesting question: why no torque transfer from the Halltech to the Lamik? I thought this should be absolutely possible?!?
If you going to do a DI delete you need to make plugs for the holes that will press fit into the holes or weld them up, otherwise the Injector gets extremely hot and will always burn the tips as there is no fuel to cool the tips down. You also risk that tip falling off and there goes your cylinder/ engine.
It felt quick with the manual. But you an i both know how much of a pain they are. I think its gonna be rapid with the 8HP. Hopefully get it setup to go fast in a straight line after the drift duties are all done.

Original M3 engine in stock form is worth about $12-$15k right now and when boosted wont make that much power. A n54 is worth a 1/4 of the price and will make more power.
It's funny how much HP these N54's make (regardless that the biggest issue is cooling and IAT'S) ;) why not run both Di and Port ? Here in the U.S running Di and Port will sort you out in a big way ! Let's run 27 PSI on some simple 15t Td04 6+6 11 blade jawns and that's that.....575 reliable hp all day long. These little single turbo folks are the best !!!!!! J/k a 6266 ball bearing joint !!! is all you fine Aussie folks want and need. I imagine that there is no want and need ? I've been a firm believer since Mad Max that y'all are better than U.S at most things Car related....I love that you guy's throw most of the light neccessary to the N54B30 platform. Papadakis Racing have a video on their channel where a B58 shits out a DI injector on the dyno because it melted - they were using port injection and the DI's were just filling the holes. He made up some dowels and shrunk them down with liquid nitrogen so they interference fit into the holes - ua-cam.com/video/WzgzSnYDvz4/v-deo.html

I can’t recommend the clutch by wire enough. Just need to soften the blow on the drivetrain
Those injectors will melt without fuel running through them to cool them off. Drifthq sells a set of delete plugs to fully delete them.

Very cool, Dan seems to be happy with how it's working out now, he seemed a little sceptical to remove the manual to start with.

Is that the DCT Shifter? I'm using that one on my 8hp/LS s13, hoping for some if that brutal shift cut sound once it's all done!

There is nothing available for haltech plug and play. In fact halect does not support the e9x chassis.

I’m trying to convince Dan to run it down the 1/4 however the suspension setup might not be the best for that. We’ll see.

I havent tried one, however assuming its using the same pt-can as f series it should.

Need to correct myself i thought ypu ripped the internals of the 8hp...kinda happy it just was an axle
Lamik and haltech just not setup properly yet. Been talking to Lawrence from the uk should have it working today with any luck.

No, well not just the converter. The clutch by wire unlocks all the clutches. I'll explain in the next video.
