The runner motif really works with it because of its frame shape and the head. It reminds me of a rabbit which are pretty much associated with speed. Overall really nice kit man 👍🏻
The Grimgerde is a great looking kit OOB, and your custom made some very nice improvements! Love everything about it. I've always wondered how it would look with a more sleek silhouette like that. I love your custom work!
It looks really good, I really like the shortened side skirts and the gloss paint over the flat frame. Those small white details on the back of the upper thighs are also really nice. I agree with you the road could use one more coat of flat.
i love your simple display base block idea. a good way to finish it would be to make the sides look like stone as well to give the impression of a cutaway scene. more sponsor decals or banners on the front would also be cool for a podium look.
Nice custom Grimgerde! I like the shorter side skirts and back skirt. The UV eye cameras are cool. The gun has a weird ammo pack you could add to the back as sort of a radiator or turbo/supercharger in combination with those shields. Also i would like more sponsor decals to give it that real racing feel. And racing stripes on it would look cool too. I really like the kit overall the orange shoulders are really cool.
So my opinion is that the whole thing came out great! I really love that orange, and would of liked to see a few more hints of it maybe some thin lines around where the tubes connect to the inner frame. Also I saw someone else mention more "racing types", I think a slimmed down HG GN-X in the same colors but opposite(i.e. Mostly orange and white with the tan accents) would compliment this kit perfectly.
Interesting concept and execution. The only major point of criticism would be to widen that base and give it a nice stain/finish. The bare wood is distracting. Other than that, I like how you've managed to fully recontextualize this mecha design. The long limbs and minimal armor remind me of Episode 12/the second movie of Evangelion, with the extended sequence of all three Eva units racing through the city to catch an Angel falling from the sky. It would be nice to see if this can achieve the racer's starting pose, when their legs are staggered and their hands with fingertips splayed to barely touch the track.
It turned out really nice, makes me want to consider to paint my HG Grimgerde with Panda AE86 Trueno color scheme. Though, when I saw the car photo in your WIP video, I expected that you would add an orange stripe runs along the head like those stripe on Carta's Graze Ritter's head.
Beautiful kit and paint job. I would have modded the vfin to be more angle for the racing theme and maybe use some tubing to make exhaust coming out just under the thighs.
I really really like the idea of this, I’d love to see a couple of kits decked out like this modified for different sports, like a Mobile Suit Olympics series
I personally would've given the back skirt an inward cut rather than outwards, seeing as collisions are a very big possibility. I would've also given it some minor weathering around the feet, a racers shoes wear out, don't they? Two open hands would've improved the expression too, I think. Other than that, this thing is absolutely flawless.
GOTTA GO FAAAST. Looks great, love that color scheme. You should get some effect parts sometime too for the thrusters, really give it a sense of speed in the running pose. I kinda fancied that would be a thing in the post calamity war AU, people using MS's for racing! Maybe I'll actually do that sometime, might use a 1/100 Graze for it since I've yet to buy one of those yet.
If this seriously was a racing type, then I recommend making the ear wings of the head trimmed (at least a bit to make them look like functional flaps) because those look like theyll cause alot of drag (or even just take them off completely). Removing as much armor as possible and exposing the frame alot more would really help sodify it even more as a racing type or maybe you can make the armor (by replacing it or making it sharper) look more aerodynamic like how angular fighter planes of the 80s and 90s look. Also, although I dont know how well this will work, adding more thrusters (like adding small ones on the arm pegs), nothing huge, in a way thet theyre like auxilliary thrusters would make it look faster than even the Sinanju.
I'll give you about 3.50 for it. Nah but in all seriousness this looks amazing! Actually when you started working on this kit it inspired me to do some modification on a kit I had so thanks for that!
This looks really cool! Kinda makes me wish there was a spinoff Gundam show called "Gundam BuildRacers" or something like that. I think the next step to this idea would be to do a diorama with a bunch of Grazes (painted up to look like racers) racing each other. That'd look amazing!
I think this is a masterpiece, i love the job done with the decals. Maybe the next time you could add a little bit of weathering at the legs to replicate the "rally" effect
Its funny, last night I was scrolling through your ig, and when I saw a wip pic of this i though, 'man, I really want to see a vid of the completed thing.'
I like how it turned out I seen the video with where you showed the car just is just me could used more Orange to make it have that race car and the racer jump suit but other then that it's amazing as is
Nicely done! Next time if you can put a side to side comparison from before and after, so that other viewers will know what is the major differences from a oob kit..
Very nice overall, I think some areas of the inner frame would of looked better in a metallic color and would of prefered some more of that vibrant orange maybe just a band of color around one leg. Really high quality finish though. wouldpilot/10
oh my god, yes!t he fins really lend to a rabbit vibe, don't they? and within the context of the suit, it sorta references the hare from that one fable, doesn't it?
running pose on that base would certainly look great also a spoiler ears like kamen rider drive might turn it into even more racing theme but I guess that's too much work
Very suave, but what is a racing model without racing stripes? Some twin stripes somewhere. Maybe horizontally across one of the knees continuing through those leg panels that stick out. Or perhaps on both knees but only starting in the center of each and trailing off the outside panels.
I have a question about the holes in the arms (where shields go). is that a piece of parts runner or something else, and is it two pieces to get the notched look? you did not show that in the WIP which would have been a great thing to show a subtle but impressive detail. showing some of the tiny panel lining of irregular details in the shoulders would have been helpful to beginners like me. So no criticism on the kit, just wanted more in the WIP after seeing finished product. Thanks for the content.
How much you want for it...lmao, great work. I have always been influenced by you and I actually wanted to do a custom grimgerde for a while now, and finally I got a good inspiration from you, thx.
Kind of curious if there are any cheap kit who got shorter or less bulky shoulders?.... I got an idea for a build and it is between Grimgerde or Thunderbolts "Atlas"
Are those hands the Jigen Build Knuckles Square Type? I've been wanting expressive hands for my Grazes, but I think even the smallest size of the Jigen hands are still a tad too large.
If I had to pick out something, I would have put the number decals on the top of the shoulders. The leg seems like a strange place to put a racing number.
DON'T SELL IT! YOU'RE GONNA MISS IT'S WHEN IT'S GONE!
Beautiful paint job. 10/10
*running in the 90's intensifies*
It needs a nice racing stripe to tie it all together
oh wow, this is a really beautiful kit. I wish there were like a story behind it, a whole series even!
It's subtle but the leg extensions are doing alot for the look and feel here. Fantastic.
The decals really sell the racing theme. Had this been the grimgerde's original color scheme I would have bought this kit. Nice job!
Wow. I really love the color scheme. It is perfect blend dull and pop. Really nice.
The color scheme and contrast of the different top coats makes it more appealing. It would be cool to have a base with a hurdle on it.
i really like the idea of shortening the front/side and back skirts of the kit. Made the legs look longer.
Yeah! And plus I did actually make the legs longer too! Haha
Great custom! Only proves that Grimgerde is the best kit to come out of the IBO series.
The runner motif really works with it because of its frame shape and the head. It reminds me of a rabbit which are pretty much associated with speed. Overall really nice kit man 👍🏻
Damn it, I thought this was an offical kit! I was gonna instant buy

This looks EXCELLENT. Outstanding job.

I love this kit. If this kit is offered in 1/100 scale I'll commission that one for sure.
great color scheme. I love the white shade went very well with the coat.
This really reminds me of a Patlabor. Look's really great.
It would be super cool if you expanded this project by making other racers as well maybe even a diorama of them racing. I wouldn't mind seeing that 🙌🏻
it looks so slick. great job sticking to your theme.
It looks amazing
The only thing is change is the wood on the base, I'd cover it in plastic and paint it orange
Nice custom Grimgerde! I like the shorter side skirts and back skirt. Also i would like more sponsor decals to give it that real racing feel. And racing stripes on it would look cool too. I really like the kit overall the orange shoulders are really cool.
It's pretty great, I especially like the shoulder armor.
It looks legit, like from an original mecha anime. Love the paintjob!
Beautiful!
Il especially like the contrast between the inner frame and glossy armor. Good job.
So my opinion is that the whole thing came out great! I really love that orange, and would of liked to see a few more hints of it maybe some thin lines around where the tubes connect to the inner frame. Awesome, i wanna see the whole process. It'll be great
Nice work. The gaps in the legs look great btw.
looks really cool, the base is awesome too, it kinda leaves you open to create more "racing types" with connecting bases
this is a really cool idea, I would love to see some MS painted like classic racing team colors, like a Fenice Ferrari or something like that.
Gave this a thumbs up even before I watched it, I knew it'd be good!
It looks perfect. Try some weathering effects to look like a after a race look.
I think the gloss on the road base makes it look freshly paved which is kinda what you expect from a race track
I'm in agreement.
This looks gorgeous.... I love the paint colour scheme too. Good work!
I like the final look Grimgerde Racing Type ended up and like to see more of this.
I like the colour and paint
wow that so nice customize and the weapon i think it will be dagger.
Reminds me of Patlabor. Nice build.
Zack! You shld definitely engrave/carve your name onto that wood base!Great job on the colour scheme!
Nice job!!!!! Thanks for your time and videos
Very Nice Paint Job!! I like the Color.
I love this! I'd be interested to try clipping off one of the rabbit ears and putting them both on one side to give it a patlabor kind of look!
Nice work. Though I think I might need a racing stripe through it to give it a more car look.
The Team Satomi color sceme from IGPX would look sick on this kit
Great kit bash!... love it!
That's an awesome build. I love it!
Colours are reminiscent of the Bandit from Turn A, and the leg extensions do a lot for the proportions.
Maybe a small bit more of that orange color? I like a balance of color from the upper body and lower body, but it still looks good !
Beautiful kit and paint job. I would have modded the vfin to be more angle for the racing theme and maybe use some tubing to make exhaust coming out just under the thighs.

I really considered some chipping, but eventually decided just to leave it clean and brand new looking.
Looks awesome. Makes me think Patlabor more than racing though.
GOTTA GO FAAAST. Looks great, love that color scheme. You should get some effect parts sometime too for the thrusters, really give it a sense of speed in the running pose.

Galbaldy rebake reminds me about this.... This one is really really cool
nice work. love the mods of the armor.

Looks amazing man. Kudos.
So many Immortal Grand Prix vibes, I fukken love it!
Amazing work would love to see it in the running pose as well.
yours look so much better than bandais , wished it was real kit i could get
This reminds me so much of IGPX, all we need it to do a graze and Io-frame shiden in the same style for a full team
wouldn't the helmwige reincar work for the heavy member of the team?
man-rodis!!! They want to go fast too
The concept reminds me of a show that used be on Cartoon Network, think it was called IGPX. Looks great.
Its funny, last night I was scrolling through your ig, and when I saw a wip pic of this i though, 'man, I really want to see a vid of the completed thing.'
I cant help but think that the shoulders could be done up to look like tyres, in my mind specifically some sick white-walls, for a vintage racer vibe
Yeah... I always forget to do that! I'll do that for the photos I'll post on my Facebook page.
It's a lovely look!
looks amazing, good job
Very nice overall, I think some areas of the inner frame would of looked better in a metallic color and would of prefered some more of that vibrant orange maybe just a band of color around one leg. Really high quality finish though. wouldpilot/10
Reminds me of King Kazma from Summer Wars. Good work btw
oh my god, yes!t he fins really lend to a rabbit vibe, don't they? and within the context of the suit, it sorta references the hare from that one fable, doesn't it?
yep
This thing looks like it'd fit right in with the other racers of the IGPX
looks sick! i just got my hg unicorn for the contest so im gonna get to work on that
running pose on that base would certainly look great
also a spoiler ears like kamen rider drive might turn it into even more racing theme but I guess that's too much work
H.R. gaming4plebs if i would name it Id call it grimgerde type: race 😁😁
This looks sooo cool
Looks pretty good!
I think u should have painted the chest and front skirt orange for a bit more contrast :)
you couldve added some age-1 normal spoilers and some exhaust piping on the legs or on the waist for more racing-ish vibe hahaha
Nice color
Very suave, but what is a racing model without racing stripes? Some twin stripes somewhere. Maybe horizontally across one of the knees continuing through those leg panels that stick out. Or perhaps on both knees but only starting in the center of each and trailing off the outside panels.
Also, with racing mechs I'm reminded of IGPX. They had some interesting designs.
Looks great
Some paint chipping would be nice, but overall I really like the paint job!
I really contemplated that!
Recently started building gunpla and really enjoy your channel. Kind of an off topic question but where do you get the music you use in your videos?
I remember he said the music is all free from youtube.
Thanks for the content.
okay nevermind about the hole filler, I must have looked away for the 10 seconds it was mentioned in the WIP.
Very nice I love the kits
How much you want for it...lmao, great work. I have always been influenced by you and I actually wanted to do a custom grimgerde for a while now, and finally I got a good inspiration from you, thx.
nicely done!
awesome as always..
really love this good thisng i have the 1/100 to experment with
Kind of curious if there are any cheap kit who got shorter or less bulky shoulders?.... I got an idea for a build and it is between Grimgerde or Thunderbolts "Atlas"
Looks like Alphons from Patlabor.
Funny you should say Patlabor - I was thinking one of the light Landmates from the original Appleseed anime 😀
I would love to see a Barbatos customised with the same racing flavour and then put both in a diorama while running.
a few others have suggested that, so I might have to continue this theme on to one or two more HGIBO kits!
Are those hands the Jigen Build Knuckles Square Type? I've been wanting expressive hands for my Grazes, but I think even the smallest size of the Jigen hands are still a tad too large.
Now I want to make an IGPX inspired mobile suit
Seriously cool man I love this.
If I had to pick out something, I would have put the number decals on the top of the shoulders. The leg seems like a strange place to put a racing number.
yeah I actually wanted to put the number there but it didn't really fit well.
