Being raised by someone like this has been a nightmare to heal from and overcome

True. A perpetual victim. A victim can never be at fault. Gross 🤮

the covert narcissist is much more challenging to detect. however, you can find out who they are. 💡
call them out on anything, & they will react in any singular or combination of the following:
sarcasm, potential violence, blame shift, mock, become rude, condescend, lie, deceive, change the subject, pretend they don't understand what you're talking about, pretend like you are blowing things out of proportion, go into a narcissist rage, play the victim & will say you should just let it go.
it's how they respond to the calling them out that exposes them when, otherwise, they operate very much under cover.

Yes yes and yes! They will also say: You're obviously not feeling well, you are looking to hurt their feeling/ to start an issue or that you are "deeply disturbed." Than immediately call someone they know to spin a story of how distressed you made them in their time of need

@user-wh2bs9tp4y agreed. narcissists thinking, beliefs and actions are all built on quicksand.
      eventually they sink themselves.

I am apparently going through menopause. That is what he is telling everyone about why I am acting differently towards him. No, my eyes are finally open now, that's all!!

I almost died and he did not take care of me afterwards, blamed me, acted a victim because he had to go get my medicine, took a photo of me in the ER, weird, who does that.

You get ill or have any kind of problems, which is what happens to the majority of people, sooner or later. Then it's Game Over. 😮

Took me 8+ years to realize my ex is a covert. Unfortunately she is still stuck in my daily life and things are worse now than they ever have been, especially since she has found someone else, or possibly more (all being long distance relationships as far as I know). BECAUSE she has found so many guys giving her admiration this has both been the happiest I've ever seen seen her, and also the coldest towards me she's ever been. All I need to do is push her to get a car of her own and I'll be long gone. As shitty as she treats me, I still care about her well being (along with her pets that I worry about) and I still want to help. I just want out so bad. I still have the delusion that she can turn things around and be a better person but deep down I know that will never happen and I will only destroy myself even more by hanging on to hope. I hope she finds help someday.
