    Nurture just added essential oils to their site! Their fragrance blends are the only ones I’ve ever bought in the two years I’ve been making and they’ve been consistently awesome.

    Hello, Mrs Soap and Clay! It would be so amazing if you made a video explaining fatty acid counts, laurel counts, oleic , palmatic and what differce it make in the soap. if you already have, a link to the video would be a sooooo very much appreciated. Thank you!

      She has put out a bunch of vids that talks about this…. Some id recommend are the deep dives, how to formulate a recipe vids, or how to substitute oils vids. One of my fav reasons to watch Mrs S&C is the basis in science and understanding all the soapy things!

    Perfect advice about keeping the recipe simple and effective! I was so distracted by everything that 'could' go into the recipe...and now I've narrowed it down to those three with a fourth thrown in to change it up here and there...but, why? I mean, really...why deviate from a simple recipe. Thanks for your resesarch so we don't have to...says the librarian... oh, no she di'unt!!!

    Thank you so much for the tutorials. I’ve recently started soaping and I love it. All this has been super helpful. One additional supply that I would love to find at a better price than Amazon is clays. You inspired me to add clays to my formula and I grabbed some but wow were they expensive for such a small amount. I know there has to be a better place to get them. Thanks for everything. On a side note Mrs. S&C my daughter absolutely loved and skipped around the house at her pirate ducks. 😉

      Oh I’m so glad to hear it! For clays, you may have to go to a number of different suppliers to get all of the clays you need, but these are good places to start.

    Yes, Big Lots has the best price on coconut oil and if you sign up they give an additional 20%off on every single bucket you get. Also for EO’s LAKSHMI INTERNATIONAL LLC has the best price for me and wonderful quality. I love Bulkapothecary as well

    Forever catching up here...
    For beginners please check out Natural Bulk Supplies. They are waaaay cheaper than wholesale including shipping, and I have found them to be a phenomenal supplier for both smaller quantities and larger actual bulk orders. Also amazing customer service!

    Hello ,I love your UA-cam channel,am a newbie to soapmaking, am really struggling to get it right,I use the 3 basic oils but it comes in at thick trace really fast before I could even do anything with it ,really need your advice

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  Рік тому

      Hey! I would try hand stirring a batch, paying attention to how the soap thickens to an emulsion. Over-mixing is a common culprit of overly thick batches for new soapers - take it slow and watch the batter changes. Also, using extra water will help your early batches as well. Have fun!

    What do you think about lard or tallow in soaps? Love your videos! ❤

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  2 роки тому +1

      Lard and tallow both make great soaps! I don’t use either because my line is strictly vegan, which makes sense for my customer base. But if your customers are good with animal oils, they both soap beautifully.

    There is 3 type of palm oil: red, fruit and kernel, which one is best for soap making?

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  Рік тому

      Hey! Red Palm and Palm have the same fatty acid composition, so they're interchangeable. Red Palm yields yellow to burnt orange soap, whereas palm is white. Palm kernel is wildly different than the other two and resemble coconut oil more than palm, so not interchangeable in a recipe that calls for palm oil.

    • @denysearchambault5021
      @denysearchambault5021 Рік тому

      @@MrsSoapAndClay so when you talk about palm you mean regular palm oil, not kernel right?

    • @MrsSoapAndClay
      @MrsSoapAndClay  Рік тому +1

      @@denysearchambault5021 accurate. If anyone is talking about palm kernel, they will say palm kernel or PKO.
