must be deep water n wit such a large board it will let u pick it up n ride it as u couldn't do that wit the lil boards of today so really its not an odd break its just that they have such massive planks lol haha n im really not to sure if it 1940 lol WW2 still had 5 years to go haha more like the 50s or even 60s as thats way of saying 1940 lol i no that much.
1940s or even late 30's. Most of these boards are paddle boards, hollow, square rails, and not easy to turn, so surfers mostly went straight off, not turning much at all, many made of plywood, and very heavy, up to 100 pounds or more. By the early 1950s, boards were mostly all balsa, and instead of 10.5 feet to 12 feet, were 9.5 to 10.5 feet long, 25 to forty pounds. Lighter and easier to turn.
It's nice to see how many people pile onto the same wave and still have fun. Nowadays everyone is so possessive, and upset all the time.....My philosophy is the more the merrier. Everyone just hop on and have fun.
wat do u mean they miss there fun times when they were old lol ? thats dosnt make sense to me anyway , like wat about when they were young or even middle aged or do u think old is when your 25 my friend? hahaha im sure thats it haha peace.
I love this style of surfing!!! They are all calmly surfing together, sharing the wave. Long boards guys and girls!❤
Was the best clip of the old waikiki surf
Great footage. That's an odd break; the wave builds and rolls forever, but never really breaks.

It can really turn on on good days
I wish there was still straight out soul surfing like this today
No tricks, no turn, just going straight and enjoying the ride
@@gabrielbay9739 no tricks no fun ether lol ohr well maybe a little bit ) do u really think its 1940 mate, just wondering?
I think this is actually more like 1950, not 1940.

1920's music with 1950's video?
Really doesn't work but the images are fun without the sound.
The music is pure filth.
Does it still break like this?
Yes. Outside reefs that are gradually deeper away from shore. Inside it gets deeper so the waves back off.
That canoe 😂👌
I met Gidget. And. Greg. Noll., Duke,
more like Tommy carol n mark Richards they were legrends lol 'Uck the duke he was a #Gronk. lol
Good clips, but HORRIBLE pick of music. Does NOT fit with a Surf Film at all.
