- In a CBS News investigation, the former workers claim management ignored complaints about dangerous conditions at their factory. The Texas facility is linked to a listeria outbreak that made 10 people sick and three people died. Jim Axelrod reports.
Of course management decided to power trip rather than listen to their employees. I hope these "supervisors" were fired or at least demoted. They sure learned their lesson. I bet all the cleaning was pretty costly...

But after all these months, the other ice cream vendors have failed to invade Blue Bell's dominance in its territory much. Just like oil refineries, dairies could not double production overnight or within a few months.

My God. I was one of those who championed the resurgence of Blue Bell in sympathy to their employees and a former great Texas company. I’m ashamed now that I’ve seen this. No wonder HEB (king of Texas grocers) didn’t welcome them back with open arms. While asinine executive management doesn’t help the fate of long-term loyal employees, it explains the reluctance of retailers to forgive Blue Bell with precious shelf space.

I had visited this factory while it was wet and it was spotless.
reusing sleeves isn't a big deal, the product is packaged and safety sealed before it ever touches those skeeves. every manufacturing facility anywhere has machines that bug out on a regular basis. from food or textiles to your own bandsaws in a grocery store. the water leakage though?! unacceptable!! drains backing up, product not being cleaned well out of pipe seals etc... tjose are the real problems.
Blue Bell doesn't use a safety seal.

Speaking of narcotics. Whenever I eat chocolate, it knocks me down giving me an urge to sleepp, putting me to sleep so deeply. I don't know what they put in the chocolate. Somebody said that the contaminated earth with metals, etc can contaminate infiltrate the cocoa chocolate.

Agreed. A contamination happens occasionally to food manufacturers - it's the way they dealt with it that I can't overlook.

Erin Elizabeth at Health Nut News it is a big deal. I don’t think anyone would continue eating it had it obviously not been addressed or the plants not being shut down. The problems fixed, so therefore people will eat it again. I remember sprouts making people sick a few years ago. They pulled all sprouts out of grocery stores. Doesn’t mean I won’t eat them ever again. Unless you grow animals and all food yourself there is just no guarantee what’s in it and even then you can still get sick.
They only cared until after they got caught. They didn't care about the customers safety.
