  • Apologies for the horrendously late upload, this has been caused by lack of time in which to leave the computer on for 3 hours to upload the video, and my internet insisting on breaking almost every time I did during the first 2 weeks of June. After that I gave up as I had to go back to College for 4 weeks, but now that I'm finished hopefully I can get the rest of the videos from Spring half term on the web
After an enjoyable Bank Holiday Sunday on the IoWSR, I returned the day after to spend a second day at the line's 40th anniversary gala, on this day hoping to try out some locations I hadn't used when I visited the line last August, all locations on Sunday being ones I had visited 9 months ago. The loco line up, as it was on the Sunday, was:
    |LBSCR E4 0-6-2T B473 (visiting from the Bluebell Railway)
    |LSWR 0298 'Beattie Well Tank' 2-4-0WT 30585 (visiting from the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre)
    |ex LSWR O2 0-4-4T W24 'Calbourne'
    |ex LBSCR A1X 'Terrier' 0-6-0T W8 'Freshwater'
If anything this day was even more enjoyable than the previous day, despite the brief spell of rain later on in the day, as in the afternoon I discovered some great locations between Ashey and Smallbrook, which are featured in the second video of the day's action. This first part concentrates on Havenstreet, with action from the Beattie Well Tank included, and Wootton. The plan I did was:
    |1022 Smallbrook Junction -- Havenstreet (B473)
    |1153 Havenstreet -- Wootton (B473)
    |1324 Wootton -- Havenstreet (B473)
    |1416 Havenstreet -- Ashey (B473)
    |1722 Ashey -- Smallbrook Junction (W8 + W24)
Note, the reason why most of my riding was behind the E4 is because, after the cramped experience of riding in a full compartment in the full 4-wheeler set the previous day, I decided to only ride in the Bogie stock this day, which, apart from the double header at the end of the day, always had the visiting 0-6-2T in charge.
I would like to thank the IoWSR for putting on this very enjoyable event, the owning groups of B473 and 30585 for agreeing to their hire, and you for taking your time to watch this video
There is going to be a reduced number in videos I am making, as I will be making less trips to preserved railways with my Camera. This is partly due to Budget Constraints, and partly due to time constraints, as in September I will be starting my A2 courses which will require a huge amount of work, and what time I have spare at the weekends will be spent at the GCRN where I am both a trainee fireman and a certified ticket inspector. I also spend a lot of time undertaking maintenance work in the shed
(BTW, we still have City of Truro at Ruddington until the end of August - why not get yourself up there and have a ride?)
