I own the Power Rangers blu-ray and I agree with you, in relation to it being OOP so soon This video makes me want to comb back thru my collection to see if I have anything of worth I do believe my 4-pack TMNT blu-ray that comes in a pizza-like box with pizza art on each disc goes for a decent amount
I'm the same way! Back when I was a teenager, I would always look up my comics in a price guide just to see if I had any that were worth something, but I never planned on selling them. In fact, I gave them to my daughter when I started collecting trades and Omnis a few years ago. I'll never forget when I went to Best Buy in the first week of December back in 2017 and found the "Spider-Man" 5-Movie 4K Steelbook Collection. Turned out that someone forgot to remove the Black Friday sticker and I got it for half price at only $49.99! Saw that it's now going for up to HUNDREDS of dollars on eBay. Not going for as much, but still pretty expensive, I also have "The Chase" (1994) on DVD, "28 Days Later" and "Dogma" on Blu-ray.
My most valuable is the Shelley Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre complete collection DVD set complete with the storybook and playing cards (yeah, it's a cool set). Amazon, the cheapest for used is over $200 (brand new is over $300). On ebay, I see an auction that ends in about 6 hours that has multiple bidders who have bid it up to $55. I saw a set in worse condition than mine for $125 as a BIN. Most of the sets I see are just the DVDs and missing the book and playing cards. The set came out in September 2008. I don't think it was out long. My birthday is September, and I asked my dad for it in 2008 since I had loved that show as a kid. I think it was replaced sometime in 2009 where they just took the DVD set out of the larger packaging and shrink wrapped it. Coming without the book and playing cards.
And the biggest culprit and outright dirtbag move is scalpers. Sorry. I actually quit eBay because of scalpers. No, they were in no way related to what I was selling, but the existence of them selling alongside me was enough for me to bail. Disgusting people. Now, as to your content, this video and your channel, keep it comin' man, this is great. Love it. I'll never buy from the aforementioned dumpster fires, but I Do like to keep tabs on what's what.
Thank you for watching. I'm just a collector. As I said in the video, I don't sell or buy on eBay; I'm just fascinated by the sold for prices on ebay. Things are worth whatever people are currently paying for them, I suppose.
And the shining, the reason I Didn't buy the steel book was Because of the cover art design. The Shining. I was expecting something along the lines of the blood flowing out of the elevator scene for the cover art. THAT, I would've bought!!!
Yeah, I'm not big on the art either. I skipped buying it when it came out. But I got it as a gift, so it has some sentimental value. Not sure why people are paying such high prices for it, when the basic 4k is readily available. I guess some people like the art.
well, the initial paperback that first hooked us on the book was that yellow with the title in that print. I have a yellow shirt with it (Minus the maze).
I don't think it's creepy now, but as a kid I thought it was creepy. Mostly just put off by seeing it as an introduction to the Digimon movie. It felt very out of place.
I have gotten a couple autograph movies over the years. If you wanted to sell them, my guess is that they would be hard to add value, unless you had a certified signature from PSA or Becket. Or maybe a picture of the person signing the movie, may help. Not sure...
Yes that's what I do. I get pictures printed out so I can put them inside the case to prove that I met them. I just started doing that this year with several actors and actresses I met this year.
And as a follow-up, sorry, I collect all of my stuff and I will not sell it. It is now for my daughter's future for when I escape this rat race on planet Earth. She is free to keep it or sell it. I've invested for her future and I trust her judgment at the time. Besides, the IRS double dipping on taxing me doesn't sit well with gen X.
While 3D is always superior to any flat presentation, the Rogue One 3D is a step down from FORCE AWAKENS 3D but better than SOLO 3D. It's OK but won't knock your socks off.
That's good to know, thank you. Even though I'm not really a fan of Force Awakens, the Blu-ray 3d was pretty good. I enjoy watching blu-ray 3Ds; wish they would make a comeback.

I do have some other Kurosawa films and a whole section of classic movies, but they haven’t increased in value according to eBay; which was the point of the video…
Worth to who? Physical media, besides maybe vinyl, is a poor investment and Ebay is a bad source to determine a value. As a lot is fake and does not sell.

I picked up my Blu-Ray of Dogma 6 months ago at a Salvation Army for $4. It is pristine as well, so definitely my best deal that I have gotten.

Amazing values ! And secondary media production companies are having fewer projects / contracts this year! Supply will dwindle of physical media.
Had no idea about Shanghai Noon/Nights. I remember buying this at Walmart for like 10 bucks
In Nov 2022 I paid $7.99 for the shanghai set from Amazon. I do have the Back to the Future steelbook set. I also have the Columbia Classics Vol 1.
I recently sold "There will be blood" blu Ray Steelbook. Still sealed for £/$100 on ebay. I've now seen some sold for 3 times that.
Also check out the Chernobyl steelbook. I knew the standard 4K was valuable but the steelbook is crazy expensive second hand now
Wow; that is selling high. I'm not going to lie, I don't even remember that release.
I have Power Rangers: The Movie with the slip. I didn't even realize it was worth anything.
Thanks for the great video. However I disagree on Andor, sorry… I thought it was boring.
I just picked up Power Rangers off FB market place for $20 bucks! No slip cover though.

Every time I've sold stuff I've always got more than I paid for it and in some cases quite a bit more.
The shangai double blu ray i still see in stores at 10 bucks alot
Heavyweights was about 9 dollars a month ago on Amazon. I'm sure a few people bought them out and threw them on ebay for 50 just to say "oop rare!".
Was it really? Could be people bought them up, knowing it was going out of print; not sure. Either way, I was surprised to see it being sold for that.
Theirs dvd ofvboth Shanghai noon and knoghts as well, blu ray not only release physical
You are correct. I was trying to say that the movies didn't have individual blu-ray release. Just the two pack for blu-ray.
i buy the blu rays as i don't want to sign up to every streaming sites as love a number of films across the film landscape
I'm the same way. I downsized from 5 streaming services, down to 2.
Your looking at 35-40 or more for Roger rabbit with a slipcover and the English one isn’t on Amazon

Book. Not movie. Book is one medium, film is another
Never the two should meet.
I have the vhs of digimon the movie, and Angela Anaconda isnt creepy, its a good series
I don't think it's creepy now, but as a kid I thought it was creepy. Mostly just put off by seeing it as an introduction to the Digimon movie. It felt very out of place.
Your comparing a used copy versus sealed brand new copies. big difference
Are they worth more if they are autographed by an actor who was in the movie?
