Sorry, I'm trying to get your attention. What about pruning tamed, blackberries?
Thanks for this, it helps a lot. Please keep talking about pruning every year, it takes a long time to learn this stuff when you only do it or hear it once a year!
Yikes. I think I pruned my grapes too much. They had become overgrown - not pruned for years and what a tangled mess. Oh well - live and learn, right?
Yeah, grapes are forgiving and you will have another shot next year.
Yeah me with my one apple tree. Now I gotta remember all this great info.
Funny timing, I just pruned my apple trees and my orange tree this morning. I'm still very unsure what I'm doing when it comes to managing an orchard but I heard someone refer to it as being a painter's canvas that will always remain unsigned and that gave me heart
So thankful for this video. I had no idea that different types of fruit trees and shrubs need to be pruned differently from each other. I look forward to increasing my fruit harvest using these techniques. Thank you James and Tuck!!
Let's Gooo!!! 😁🐕❤️
I've always said growing vegetables, and growing fruit, are two totally different things. I can grow a vegetable garden. Growing fruit, I'm very limited.
You are a great gardening teacher! Pruning trees is the hardest. You make it so easy to understand. Am bookmarking this! Thanks so much. I love your channel and garden!
As a horticulturalist and teacher, I love when someone is able to break things down for students so they can not only understand but also retain that easy to remember breakdown. You do a very nice job. If you have done several videos about pruning, it would be great if you provided a playlist for everyone, to use as a reference. Even I need a refresher from time to time. 😅
This was very helpful! Can you also talk about pruning pomegranates, currants, and columnar apples? Thanks!
I was hoping to see the currants included also--ours are old, wild & very productive. Been leaving them so long without a trim, what is a best practice?
I got nothing to prune but I’ve always got hearts for the boss!!! ❤️💫🐶💫❤️
I like how Tuck is supervising the grape pruning.
Not 10 minutes ago, I was just thinking that I need to research how to prune the table grapes that I planted last spring and here is James coming to my rescue. Brilliant timing! Thanks!!
Aw man, I just pruned my apple trees ALL WRONG just an hour ago! I guess there's always next year (or 2 years from now. ;) ) Thanks for the great info! Saved this for the future!
Yeah, that's no problem. Trees are forgiving 😁
THANK YOU. First found your channel when looking to learn how to prune our peach tree. Yours was THE BEST and most helpful/practical.
Let's Gooo! You're welcome, me and Tuck are glad you found value in it. We are always trying to help people get more fruit!
I think at this point i need a book. There's just so much care info on so many varieties of plants, it's overwhelming for a beginner.
Your knowledge is priceless and your enthusiasm is contagious !! I always come to your channel when I am particularly unmotivated to get into the garden and it always helps 😊
Let's Gooo!! Glad to hear me and Tuck motivate you and educate you a bit, we just want to get people out there growing their own food. Thanks for the kind words. 😁🐕❤️
I just bought 6 raised garden beds from you! I’d rather you prosper! You teach our family a lot about gardening! Our kids used to call you James Pepperoni when they were young
Hi James, why don't you do a question and answer video once a week, or month, because your fruit and veggies are so healthy, and you do such a great job, i am sure everyone could use so answers. Just a suggestion.♥♥♥
That would be fun, I may have to look into that
@@jamesprigioni Ohh Do a Q&A Live!
Thank you James for another great video. I saved it because this will help us to prune and train our Concord grapes. Love to the little Boss! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
❤❤❤ for Tuck!
Let's Gooo!!! 😁🐕❤️
BEST VIDEO ON UA-cam ON PRUNING FRUIT TREES. THANK YOU!!!!
Thanks James and Tuck. I hope my raspberries are a lot bigger this year and more productive. I hope to plant 2 new varieties. If I can figure on making some room.
Great advice. Nice to see Tuck being your companion as usual. Miss the boss
I can’t wait to see fruit on my 2 & 3 year old trees! Saving this video for when I get to prune. Your food forest is such an inspiration!
Love you Tuck. Happy Valentine's Day!❤😂
Love seeing you back James
Thanks Jerrad, it feels good to be back!
Thx for ur videos all the time james you helped alot ! And ur a real nice chill guy and ur gardening passion really shows ! Please keep up the good work
Pruning is one of my greatest challenges in the garden. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks for the information. I like your approach to pruning. I've watched you pruning videos over the years and find them easy to follow. Last year we had a bumper grape harvest after following your instructions on pruning the vine.
awesome video.... I need this kind of info, and I really like the way you deliver it, great energy and obvious knowledge
Thanks for the advice, Dan
Excellent presentation!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤for Tuck!
Great video! Thanks for all the pruning tips!
thanks for the necessary information. I appreciate it.
This was a super helpful video. Thanks so much for posting!
Ok, thank you for that quick clarification on pruning grapes. The way you said it in this video made sense. One year old branches, one going in each direction, keep about 5 buds per branch, cut everything else off. Got it! I pruned my vine, about 2 weeks ago, and I was still confused as to how to do it. Fortunately, I pruned it exactly like you said, in this video. I kept one new vine, going in each direction, and kept like 5 buds on each vine.
FYI! James has a blackberry pruning video that he made from about 5 years ago.
Your videos are so informative and helpful!!! I just pruned half of my muscadine grape vine today. I will do the rest tomorrow. It's overgrown and out of control status due to the house being emptied for a while. Ive been enjoying cleaning up the yard and preparing it for the garden we're putting in. Starting from scratch and loving it. 😊 😊
Such great information. Thanks!
How awesome you can grow all of that fruit.
Thanks James!! And luv to Tuck❤️❤️
Such great info. Thanks!🤗🥰
Love your work James!
I been pruning fruit trees for 18 years professionally and your explanations are even mind blowing, Keep it up
So nice to see you and Tuck at this time of the year.
I freaking love your energy! 😆
Your best video yet! Thank you.
This video helped me figure out the difference between my long established summer bearing raspberries that I'm used to caring for, and my two year old ever bearing raspberries that only produced fruit for the first time last September!
Thank you. This was such a helpful video
Yeah, I messed up pruning raspberries last year. I didn't know what type they were and chopped them to the ground.
No fruit this year but hopefully a heap next year.
Great video James and thanks for you and Tuck's energy. It really inspires me to get out there and grow more.❤❤
This was very helpful and informative.
I planted a double golden raspberry last year and a triple crown blackberry. I started to get confused about how and when to prune either. Even reading and watching other videos .
This video gives me that information ,courage and confidence to know now.
Thank you so much.
Thanks, James! Love to Tuck!❤🥰
You sir are a wealth of knowledge. Lets Go!!

Hey James and Tuck! Looking forward to planting my sugar snap peas in PA! Thanks for your videos!
Hey Wendy! So are we, nothing like fresh snap peas, they never make it into the house 🤣
Tuck keeping James in check and on track he got me on track with what I’m planting if tuck likes it I’m planting it.
You are the best.
Give little Tuck a head pat from me & a big hello from Patriot (our border collie). Thank you for the raspberry info. My grandfather, my father and my sister (MI) have grown a raspberry (all came out of my grandfathers garden). My sister gave me a start from hers to bring home to WA. I don't know what kind of raspberry it is. Your info will help me know - thank you. Don't know the species but so far it is enjoying and doing well up here on the mountain :) Love your videos and your joyful spirit!
Thanks James. Hi Tuck❤
Informative video.
Woah!
❤❤❤ for Tuck
Thanks!
Let's Gooo!! Thank you for the generous donation Mary Beth, It means a lot to me and the little boss! 😁🐕❤️
Happy valentines day ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great content
Every time I watch one of your videos I get inspired. I only have a small lot to grow on and the only full sun area is in the front yard which is approximately 25 x 50‘. I’d love your thoughts on where and how to grow.fruit trees
No Nonsense valuable information. Thank you
❤❤❤❤❤. TUCK. Plus great info thanks
❤nice
I've started over (by choice) to start raspberry, blueberry and blackberries, and a bought a grape vine too... We'll see how that goes
❤❤❤
I need to get out & do some pruning of our Persimmon tree! We had a ton of fruit this past growing season! Almost too much.
Been doing some well needed pruning on my family's 28 year old apple pear largest and a younger peach that is just reaching about 15 feet high ... Raspberry are next to get some pruning
That's awesome! I would suggest trying to prune the apple tree over a few year period, if you prune a really lot back then you will get a lot of vigorous regrow that will be tough to manage over the years
Thank you I’ve learned so much recently got into growing my own food.
Let's Gooo! You're welcome, we will do whatever we can to keep you growing it is so worth it!
@@jamesprigioni Awesome thank you 💕
