Spyderco has their own sharpener. It is called the Tri-Angle Sharpmaker. It works very well on serrated edges.

I've owned one years ago, but I don't have the skill to use it as intended.
It requires a lot of freehand control.
But thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.

So there's a lot going on here, but i gotta say that putting the sharpening system on a magazine is my favorite.
Each pags acts as its own anti anti-slip feature!

Well done! exactly, you make a plan. send it back in the mail to be sharpened and you sit without your knife and then someone steals in the mail.
i used my grinder in my workshop, same result

Not every knife has to look perfect, many of them are just cutting tools and they have to cut perfect.
I was looking for a proper way to sharpen with ease a bread knife on a fixed angle sharpening system.
I would love to see a video of how you did that adaptation of the the ceramic rod on your sharpening system.

Thank you! I found and watched the other video. And I already ordered the ceramic tubes and the microscope.
If there would just be possible to create an horizontally mobile articulation so that you would be able to keep the rod following the trail of the serration.

Like your style, gets it done but i will say the right tool for the job goes a long way. I'm looking into purchasing my first and hopefully only "buy once cry once" sharpener. Would you recommend the Hapstone?

      Hi there,
I would definitely recommend hapstone to you.
It's the best value for a premium sharpening system out there, and it works excellent.
As with any system, there are certain things that you learn to watch out for by using it, and here are my tips:
Don't but their "upgrade" precision stone holder.
Their standard stoneholder that comes with the RS model is more precise and more smooth operating.
If you want to get upgraded items for the Hapstone RS, get the Hapstone precision angle adjustment mast.
It doesn't make sharpening more precise than the original mast, it just makes adjustments a lot easier.
Now the caveat, the magnet in my upgraded mast came loose, (it's glued in) so I JB welded it back in place and it's solid as a rock.
These are things to know about if you get a hapstone RS.
But I definitely recommend the unit.
What's more, it doesn't have a long guide rod that requires a lot of space to use the system.
      ~
      On a similar note,
Don't waste your money on cbn stones and expensive diamond stones.
Cheapy-China diamond stones of relatively low grit are all you need. (If you're going to use flat stones, but I prefer my homemade tube stone).
Thank you for sharing some of your valuable time with me.
All glory to the risen Lord Jesus Christ, and no glory to us whatsoever!

    You ruined the blade.

@@leeandmelposkey But he's not wrong, you took carefully designed serration geometry of EDC knife and turned it into bread knife serration, you also didn't take care of tooth heights. You shouldn't reprofile a blade like that, unless the edge completely ruined, there are better ways sharpening serrated blades, ways that won't ruin the geometry.

@@leeandmelposkey -- I'm not critical of what you did with your knife at all. It's your knife, do whatever the hell you like with it. But the idea that because somebody doesn't have any content on UA-cam they've got no business leaving critical commentary is just dumb. The guy might be a rocket scientist or a nuclear physicist. He might not have UA-cam videos because he's too busy curing cancer -- or he might just have no interest in creating content. The amount of content he uploads to UA-cam really has no bearing at all on the validity (or lack of validity) of his points. If you disagree with the points that he makes then address those points and why they're wrong. Waffling on about what he has or hasn't uploaded just looks weak and womanly.
You like those serrated knives though. I don't like them myself. I prefer a regular plain edge. Unless I'm cutting bread.
