Oh Lush a great band I first discovered thanks to Rock Band. I credit Rock Band and Guitar Hero to my discovery of rock and their sub genres.

was a great time for this type of Indie... bands Like Ultra Vivid Scene, New Fast Automatic Daffodils etc etc etc....John Peel was pouring the music out on BBC Radio nightly on the World Service and Weekly on Radio 1 (a little look at John Peel will basically be the map for all music in the UK from the 60's to the 90's.....he showed us everything we were going to love)
So lucky to have someone like that guiding.
Ps i haven't heard Lush before and I'm going to explore some more they have a slightly FLYING NUN records (The Chills, The Bats) kind of sound to them

I saw these guys live a couple of times when they were doing their reunion tour maybe 10 yearsish ago. Miki Berenyi is a really impressive performer live, she plays a 12 string guitar which is already not an easy thing to do and she does while doing the lyrics too. Love this band really, bands like MBV and Slowdive and Ride get a lot of the attention whenever shoegaze is discussed but I think Lush hold their own with the best of the best of the genre.
I agree with that. I listened to some of their stuff for our album draft series last year and really enjoyed it!
I fanicied Miki Berenyi SOOOO much, it distracted my mind lol... Lush appearance on a programme called 'The White Room' with Single Girl and the amazing Ladykillers cemented their Boss status as monarchs of Indie Pop.
This one was great for sure!
These are two of Lush’s heavier, more frantic songs. The rest of the Gala compilation is brilliant. Stand out tracks would be De-Luxe, Thoughtforms & Scarlet.
